What happened?
Sophia Amoruso is the successful owner of the well-known brand Nasty Gal and she tells the
story of becoming GIRLBOSS from a road. Her goal is to team you on how to learn from own
mistakes and mistakes of others. she helps in taking the important decision of quitting and to ask
for more. She encourages you to ask more questions and helps in understanding the rules. She
guides to become bosses as per the perspectives of women which are equal to the world of men
(Lindgren, 2018).
The own businesses are set by the EW women’s and it is considered as the enough for self-
starting and they are those who are single mothers and involve themselves in boring domestic
works. In films and television, women’s entrepreneurship is depicted effectively (Martins, 2018).
A film in 2015 “Joy” gave the opportunity of Oscar nomination to Jennifer Lawrence who had
played the role of mop inventor. There are not many examples of women’s entrepreneurship.
Another example is “Sunshine Cleaning” movie which featured Amy Adams in the role of
crime-scene cleaner. It also includes the movie Waitress (2007) which included the low-budget
flick had opened her own pie shop. Bridesmaids which came in 2011 can also be considered as it
included the hapless Kristen Wiig rues which closed her bakery.
Self-Experience
I have always been interested in the books of a business entrepreneur but I never find the
modern, solid and informative books like #GIRLBOSS. When I read this book it really made me
resonate just like I have been drinking coffee, discussing life with girlfriends and excepted that
this girlfriend has a story of a million-dollar business (Cerne, 2015). It is considered much more
than the story of success. Sophia portrays the story as it is and does not change with sugar
coating and she makes sure to become a successful businesswoman without any by chance. She
is the one who gives advice, share mistakes and give warnings about potential poison and even
take little precautions.
In the book of Nasty Gal the CEO, Amoruso gives advice to young women entrepreneurs who
pursue to choose the alternative path for fortunes and fame. In the beginning, she discussed the
suburban childhood and teen years and author also share the experience of living hand to mouth,
hitchhike, also author dropped out of school. The boring work all night made her decide to live a

few old-fashioned clothes on eBay and it changed her life. After seven years, Amoruso
successfully runs the company with $100 million and managing 350 employees. Although her
success is admirable and her advice is based on her limited experiences and also included the line
which states that “when you accept yourself, it’s surprising that others will accept you.” In the
book of 200 pages the author discussed and summarized the book with the help of few tweets.
The book included various interesting fact and one of the interesting parts included the use of
social media by the author (Hisrich and Ramadani, 2017). The author Amoruso also includes the
spiritual side in which she also described her belief related to “chaos magic” and sigils which
included her wish-full thinking exercise and involved the abstract words. In the book, she also
included the various sidebars as the guests in girl bosses which are bloggers, internet,
entrepreneurs who had shared the clichéd which included the suggestions for the successful
business. She had also offered guidance for the interviews and suggested what not to wear while
going to a nightclub and getting fire and helps to find fashion style (to follow the trend carefully)
so help the readers in certain situations and also included you are not special as sage advice.
Being an Entrepreneur, the main reason behind the success is that we just only dreamt about the
business but we also know how to reach with that point. The success in the business achieves
when we know how to handle the things in the appropriate manner.
Purpose of reading this book
Everyone is hungry to attain success in the company but there are very few people who crave to
reap it. The craving for success only leads to achieving a high peak point in the business. There
is opinion of the people that investment should be made in the right hands then only you can
have it at the end of the alone. But I am not in favor of this opinion. To attain success in the
business then faith is not required the person should have the great determination to lead to the
success of the company. Working hard only leads to success, the word faith is meaningless
without depositing the proper actions.
I have read the article written by Sophia Amoruso on # GirlBoss. Sophia was the founder of the
Nasty Gal and she was also the Executive Chairman of that. She is very intelligent girl and I
have learned a lot from her. She is the kind of the person I always want to be with as she is like
one of the best friends I have who guides me about my dreams. She was one of the great

entrepreneurs and I want to be like her as she has gained very deep knowledge regarding the
entrepreneurship. The book made by her was really inspiring and I will give the humble review
to that book.
She has opened the store eBay and from that now she is a successful entrepreneur that literally
attracts me the more (Delaney, 2016). I adore her story and boldness and one of the surprising
things about her is that Sophia has made it out from boredom. She has overcome with all the
hurdles alone and she has grown up the small business into the big business. She has not much
qualified and in fact, she does not have any educational background to support her but still she
nailed it.
If someone is starting their own business then her book has to read once as it gives advice on
things which the person should remember before opening the business. She has shared her own
experience of working so she also recommended what the person should do in the business and
what the person should not do. She has also interacted with other successful businesswomen to
embellish her perception.
Role: To give the reviews about the books
The reviews and the critiques regarding book #GirlBoss has been given. This book is considered
as the bestseller in New York but it’s not entirely good. There are some nice things which have
to be cut from this book. Still I will recommend this book to go through it one not because the
boss status has been shown in this book (Collis, 2016). The book is referred due to the inspiring
story of Sophia as she has to face lots of odd and reaches in her life. It was the true story that she
was deprived of the wealth but she has managed everything so well that she has led to the
success of the company.
What other people did
In the whole story of her entrepreneur she brags about her stubborn and difficulties. She was a
teen when she started the business so she has to face many critiques. She was questioned and
tracked with many lame jokes (Ortved, 2013). But she never put attentions on these things she
was always focused and play the games with her own rules. She always gives her 100% to each
work and she was freakier who do what she likes.

What I did
I have read her first chapter of the Book in which there was the tag line that “On Hiring, Staying
Employed, and Firing,” From that tagged line I get the premonition that she does not want to
recruit any person as she is enough and doesn’t want anyone like her. I have analyzed that in the
conflict of the hidden sexism, Amoruso was not innocent as she has committed this intentionally.
She used the #GIRLBOSS as she can use the other #tag also.
What energizes my bothersome about the book is that she never mentioned her decision-
making process behind where and how she decided to have garments made.
The production of the Nasty Gals has been a secret for the long decade. The stock prices are
declining in the Nasty Gal’s Fashion as the condition of the company was not. There are many
gossips regarding the company and theories which are stating the bad condition of the company.
The major reason behind the declining of the profitability of the company was the poor quality
which is stated in Chapter 11 of the article written by Lauren Sherman on the downfall of the
fashion business of the Nasty Gals (Shaw, 2017).
Her some views are just contradicted and paradoxical but I have learned a lot from this book so I
am grateful. There is some lack in the book but I have learned some good points from the book
which is stated below:
 In the daily routine of work, there should be some boundaries in life.
 Excellence should the goal of the person, not the habit.
 There should be a competitive spirit in the person and should take the risk and compete
with yourself.
 I have learned that there should be a balance in the work and the person lives so that the
person can live to the fullest.
 Before hatching never count your eggs. I always learn new ideas and how to evaluate
them in the business and I am thirsty to collect the new innovations.
