INTRODUCTION
Numeracy means the skills and the confidence in using the numbers and the
mathematical approaches in all the aspects of the life. However, data analysis refers to the
process of cleansing, modeling, inspecting and transforming the data with a goal of discovering a
useful information, supporting decision-making and in drawing informing conclusions. The
present study involves the assessment of wind speed in Glasgow, a city that lies in United
Kingdom. Furthermore, it involves computation of central tendencies of all the variables that are
temperature, wind speed and wind direction.

2. Present data by using two kind of chart
Bar graph- It refers to the pictorial rendition of the statistical data within which an
independent variable could attain only specific discrete values. In other words it means a
quantitative comparison by using rectangles with the lengths proportional to measure the data or
the things that are being compared.
Scattered chart- It referred as the set of the points plotted on the horizontal and the
vertical axes (Taylor and Byrne-Davis, 2017). Scatter plots are essential as it reflects the extent
of the correlation in between the values of an observed quantities or the phenomena stated as
variables. It is been counted as the simplest technique for assessing the correlation among
variables.

3. calculation of mean, median, mode, range and standard deviation
Mean- It refers to the average value of the variables which us been calculated by adding
up all the values and dividing it by the total observation.
Median- This means middle value of the variables attained when the dataset are arranged
from the least to the largest tor in an order.
Mode- It is been stated as the statistical term which is been found by organizing and
collecting the data in the order for counting frequency of each and every result (Geiger, Goos
and Dole, 2015). The value with the highest count the occurrence is called as mode of the data
which in turn also called as the modal value.

Range- This measures meant as the complete group the that is been involved in between
the two points on the measurement scale or the quality. It is calculated by subtracting the lowest
value from the largest value or can be said as maximum value minus the minimum value.
Standard deviation- It is the statistical measure which captures a difference in between
the average and an outliers within the dataset (Civil, Stoehr and Salazar, 2019). It is considered
as the measure of dispersion of the dataset or the variables from its mean value.

Interpretation- The above analysis shows that the mean value of wind speed resulted as
331.81 that is evaluated by dividing the total number of the observation with that of the grand
total of values. However, for the other two variables that is temperature and wind direction, the
average value equated to 274.897 & 4256.344. In other words, the median value of wind speed,
temperature and wind direction attained as 309.28, 279.275 & 3843.215. The Mode for all the
three variables computed as nil because no value is seen as repeated with the 10 days. The value
of range evaluated as 283.58 of wind speed, 177.57 of temperature and 5888.47 of wind
direction in Glasgow for the period of 10 consecutive days. Standard deviation for sum of wind
speed resulted as 96.34, for temperature it equates to 58.3 and fro the third variable it is been
valued as 1819.06.

CONCLUSION
From the above study it has been summarized that with passage of days the sum of wind
speed has been increased in Glasgow. The statistical measures applied within the report also
shows that the average value of the wind speed and the other variable is higher than that of the
median, mode and other measures.
