Overview of Organisation
Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is the Swiss-
grounded global foundation, which mobilises the private-
public partnership globally and sim to provide technical and
financial support to the people who require nutritious food for
overcoming the health condition of malnutrition.
The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) was
established during 2002 in the United Nation (UN) in order to
tackle the suffering caused to the human being because of
malnutrition (Geissler & Powers, 2017). The organization
made alliance with different partners globally and aimed to
produce much better food choices that are affordable,
desirable and available.
The primary mission and vision of this organization is to
advise and support the business, developing partner and
governments to enhance and build an effective nutrition and
food plan.
Therefore, the purpose of the Global Alliance for Improved
Nutrition (GAIN) is to advance the nutrition effects by
enhancing the intake of safe and nutritious food for every
individual especially focusing on the people are highly
vulnerable towards malnutrition (Global Alliance for
Improved Nutrition, 2019).
Contribution to the Common Good
In order to help the people suffering from malnutrition, the Global
Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) has taken huge initiatives and
adapted different innovations to help those people with nutritious food.
They have used the approach of ‘one-size-fits-all’ model and developed
programs that will be used to guide and educate the people regarding the
organization and also focus on consuming the best food. The general
people are not aware of the nutritious food or the type of food they should
consume in order to be healthy, hence, this organization focuses on
increasing awareness reading the different categories of food that an
individual must consume to be healthy. They have initiated and made
huge alliances with the government and other local partners that will help
them in contributing towards the sustainable development at a larger
scale. The organization focus on building association and partnership with
the academic institution, civil society, UN agencies, governments and
businesses executives in order to develop and enhance the programs that
will focus on delivering the local and global relevant solutions towards
malnutrition and help the people to increase their knowledge on the
condition and the organization that will assist them preventing the issue
and also increase their level of awareness and knowledge regarding the
organization and the benefits provided by the organization to help each
and every individuals (Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition, 2019).
My Professional Contribution
Being a nurse by profession, I have the responsibility of conducting the
program initiatives in different sectors, which will help the common people
to enhance their knowledge and understanding of the everyday operations
conducted by the organization. I have the responsibility of educating the
people on the initiatives taken by the organization and motivate them to
actively participate so that the rate of malnutrition is decreased (Young,
Banks & Mudge, 2018). I will adapt to different innovative strategies of
increasing awareness among the general population and the initiatives that
the organization is taking to reduce the overall rate of malnutrition and also
decreases the mortality or morbidity rate of the people dying due to
malnutrition. I am accountable for motivating my team leaders to fulfil their
responsibilities with efficiency and dedication and make our organization the
best in helping the people to overcome from this prevalent health condition. I
am also responsible for food fortification and updating the diet that is
required by every individual in order to be healthy. The educational program
that is conducted by the organization are conveyed to the common people by
us, we act as the mediator for transferring all the beneficial knowledge to
them and motivate them in enhancing their lifestyle and escape any risk of
malnutrition (Haddad, 2018). Hence, it is very crucial that being a nurse I
explain every minute details to the general population and solve all their
doubts regarding causes of malnutrition, treatment, lifestyle maintenance and
consumption of healthy food that will assist them in increasing their general
knowledge reading the condition and also motivate them to adapt the
necessary lifestyle changes that will help them to reduce the prevalence rate
of malnutrition.

Introduction
This poster will highlight the condition of malnutrition and
the different forms of malnutrition that affects large number
of population including children (Soeters et al., 2017).
Large variety of foods ate required with correct quantity of
nutrients to be productive and healthy. In certain
developing countries, large number of people cannot
consume nutritious foods.
In order to overcome from such conditions, a global
organization is developed named Global Alliance for
Improved Nutrition (GAIN), which will focus on
improving the delivery fi nutritious food globally and also
improving the health condition of the people who are most
vulnerable (Haddad et al., 2016).
The effort and contribution from the nursing profession will
also be explained that will focus on enhancing the health
condition of the people suffering from malnutrition.
