AI Summary
This research proposal investigates the advantages and disadvantages of the global business environment on the business success of multinational organizations, specifically focusing on Starbucks. The study aims to understand the concept and importance of the global business environment, identify challenges faced by multinational organizations, and explore strategies for successful business expansion. The research will employ a qualitative methodology, utilizing primary data collection through questionnaires and secondary data from books and articles. A probability sampling method, specifically simple random sampling, will be used to gather data from 50 Starbucks employees. The research will analyze the impact of globalization, strategies for overcoming challenges such as communication issues, cultural differences, and competition, and recommend ways to improve business performance. The proposal outlines the research objectives, questions, literature sources, activities, timescales, and research approach, including data collection methods and sampling techniques.

Section Five: Research approach and methodologies
What type of research approach and methodologies are you likely
to use and why? What your areas of research will cover:
Research Methodology: There are two types of research methodology such as quantitative
and qualitative. Qualitative research is based on theoretical framework and need information
in quality form. It is a scientific method of observation to collect non-numerical data from the
respondents. On the other side, quantitative research is based on numerical information. Along
with this, according to the current investigation, qualitative research methodology will be used

by researcher. As it will support investigator to complete research in effective manner.
Data collection: Primary and secondary are two types of data collection methods.
Primary method of data collection: Under primary method, questionnaire is used. As it will
support investigator to gather reliable information about the study. Questionnaire is most
essential and useful method used by researcher to collect primary information from the
respondents of research.
Secondary method of data collection: In case of secondary method, books, articles etc.
sources will be applied by researcher. These sources are more effective for researcher to use
and gather accurate and in-depth information regarding the current study.
Both are consider effective method of data collection which are applied for conducting this
investigation in effective manner. As these methods helps investigator to accomplish research
aim and objectives easily.
Sampling: Probabilistic and non-probabilistic are two method of sampling. For current
investigation, probability sampling will be used and 50 employees of Starbucks will be taken
into consideration. Main reason behind selecting this sampling as it will helps researcher to
randomly select sample size out of total population. Non-probabilistic is another method of
sampling which is not valuable because it need additional time.
Types of sampling: There are different types of sampling such as Convenience sampling
Simple Random Sampling, Stratified Sampling etc. These are effective types of sampling
which helps researcher to select sample size out of total population. Convenience sampling: It is a method of sampling where the investigator divide the
whole population into parts or clusters that stand for a population. Simple Random Sampling: It is one of the best technique of probability sampling that
assist in saving time as well as resources of an organisation or researcher. It is a
reliable type of sampling of obtaining data where every individual member of a
population is selected on random basis.
Stratified Sampling: It is another method of sampling where the total population can
be classified into little groups, that do not overlap but stand for the whole population
together.
Therefore, all these types of sampling are essential but according to the current study, simple
random sampling method will be used by researcher. As this method helps researcher by
saving resource as well as cost also.

Research approach: There are two approaches of research such as inductive and deductive.
Deductive approach is used by researcher for performing current investigation systematically.
Main reason behind selecting this approach as it provide quantitative data regarding the study.
On the other side, inductive approach is not useful for current study because it is based on
theoretical framework.
Research Philosophy: Interpretivisim philosophy will be used by investigator for completing
research activities in systematic manner. On the other hand, positivism philosophy is not
valuable for conducting investigation over global business environment. As this philosophy
require maximum resources of an organisation or researcher.
Types of research: This section will be classified into two parts such qualitative and
quantitative. Qualitative research will be applied for doing research over global business
environment and impact of globalisation on business performance. Quantitative research is not
appropriate according to the current investigation because it require more time as well as
resources of enterprise.
