INTRODUCTION
PESTEL Analysis is a marketing theory through which an organisation can identify
external factors which can affect business environment. PESTEL Analysis is a framework
though which organisation can monitor and identify macro environmental factors which can be a
threat or weakness for business (Çitilci and Akbalık, 2020). Hays plc is a recruitment
consultancy and is a British multinational company which provides services across 33 countries
globally. This project report is based on PESTEL analysis of Hays plc.
MAIN BODY
PESTEL Analysis is a marketing technique through which Hays Plc analyse macro
business environment which can affect managerial operations of management. The factor which
affect managerial functions are Political, economic, social, technological, environmental and
legal. Due to any change in such factor , it can affect business profitability and operations. The
macro environmental factors which affect business environment are stated below:
Political Factors-
Political factors are responsible factors which can create an impact on profitability of
business. Such factors affects long-term sustainability of business and organisation can face high
risk from their operations. Some of the political factors which are responsible for influencing
business environment of Hays Plc are political stability, changing policies, corruption and trade
restrictions.
Economic Factors-
Economic factors of business environment are factors which affects business and
economic growth. The economic factors which affect Hays Plc are as follows: Inflation and
interest rates, labor market conditions and economic structure of business.
Social Factors-
Social factors which create an influence on business environment are based on changing
demographic trends, gender based equality and inequality, Societal norms and class distribution
and on buying potential of consumers in marketplace (Fosher, 2018).
Technological factors-
Due to rapidly changing technology, there are several technological factors which affect
business environment of Hays plc, some of the technological factors are social media marketing,

advancement in technology and research and development in cost structure can affect business
environment of organisation. These factors are also responsible for shortening of product life
cycle.
Environmental factors-
Due to rapid change in climate, there are several factors which can affect business
environment, some of the environmental factors which can affect business environment of Hays
Plc are recycling and waste management, technologies which are renewable, changing weather
and climate conditions, and preference of people for eco-friendly and all environmental
regulations though which Hays Plc can avoid resource depletion (Samusenko and et.al, 2020).
Legal Factors-
Legal factors such as employee protections laws, consumer protection laws, intellectual
property laws can create an impact on business environment of Hays Plc. These laws and
legislations are formed by Government which aims to protect consumer and buyer rights in
business.
CONCLUSION
From the above mentioned report, it can be concluded that there are several macro factors
which can create an impact on business environment, on sustainability and profitability of
business. These responsible factors are monitored and identified by business through which they
can tap opportunities and avoid risks and threats.
