1. Introduction
1.1 Background of the research
Global business environment plays a crucial role to bring business benefit of a company on an
international level. The presence of globalisation has managed to bring numerous benefits in
different emerging and developed countries across the world (Olimpia, N. and Stela, 2017, p.
31). It includes positive impact on the education, technology, competition, capital flow, culture
and trade of a country. The demographic segments of the society are seen to be highly impacted
due to the presence of globalisation. The foreign investments and the competition of the various
companies get highly influenced in such scenario.
1.2 Research aim
The aim of the research is to analyse the benefits and drawbacks of global business environment
in the current times.
1.3 Research objectives
The objectives of the study have been given below.

To evaluate the impact of globalisation on a global context

In the current times, globalisation surely plays a major role in order to bring significant
development of a country. Many multinational companies engaged in the global business

Global business environment plays a crucial role to bring business benefit of a company on an
international level. The presence of globalisation has managed to bring numerous benefits in
different emerging and developed countries across the world (Olimpia, N. and Stela, 2017, p.
31). It includes positive impact on the education, technology, competition, capital flow, culture

environment, precisely gain a lot of benefit by trading and doing business with foreign countries.
It is observed that the competitive pressure of the globalisation can prompt the improved
governance along with better protection in labour.
In addition to that, opening the capital markets allow the developing countries for borrowing
money to fill up a domestic gap of savings (Gunn, 2017, p. 42). However, many negative
impacts have been found while commencing business on a global environment. Despite of all the
positive impact, many emerging and developed countries face major to minor challenges.
Therefore, the current study aims to showcase the positive and negative effect happened due to
the impact of globalisation.
2. Literature review
2.1 Importance of global business environment
The international trade environments is quite vibrant and diversify. It is responsible to benefit
both of the parties involved into globalization. It is observed that, countries with higher level of
global trade are having strong and stable economies. Along with that, they provide better
standards of living with the presence of steadier growth opportunities. Moreover, the exporting
helps to boost the high economic development of a certain country along with raising the actual
livings standards. As opined by (Sharma, 2016, p. 253), the presence of global business
environment also plays a key role to eradicate poverty from many emerging countries in the
current scenario. The current exported goods across the world are around 25% that has increased
massively since the last decade.

There are two theories that have been selected in order to give theoretical support to the study
which are.
Comparative advantage theory of international trade
According to Donato and Massey (2016, p. 25), comparative advantage could be seen when a
country tends to produce a particular good or service at a lower cost while compared to other
countries. It is observed that the opportunity cost helps to measure a trade off. On the other hand,
a nation having a comparative advantage is able to worth their tradeoffs. Application of this
theory can help companies to produce the goods or service by using fewer resources and also
with a lower opportunity cost.
Monopolistic advantage theory
The monopolistic advantage theory is an approach within the field of international business. The
theory helps to explain that why a certain firm can compete with its indigenous competitor in the
foreign market. As opined by Lane (2016, p. 51), application of this theory can show that firm
can use FDI in order to control specific resources that basically arise from the power of
monopoly. It helps to operate in the foreign markets in a profitable way.
2.4 Gap of literature

3. Methodology
3.1 Research philosophy
There are majorly four types of research philosophies available which are pragmatism, realism,
interpretivism and positivism (Cuervo et al. 2017, p. 240). The undertaken research is based on
the static data from the secondary sources and quantifiable data from the primary sources.
Therefore, positivism will be followed in order to measure the data in a structured way.
3.2 Research Approach
In research methodology, there are three research approaches which are followed by researchers.
They are deductive, inductive and abductive. Deductive approach will be suitable for the
research as it will aim to test the validity of the assumptions pr hypotheses (Mackey and Gass,
2015, p. 50). On the other hand inductive and abductive research approach has been neglected as
no new theories are aimed to be developed along with surprising facts.
3.3 Research design
There are majorly three kinds of research designs observed in research methodology, such as
exploratory, explanatory and descriptive (Fletcher, 2017, p. 182). As the research is highly based
on the statically data gathered from the primary data, therefore descriptive design will be chosen
for describing the process involved.
3.4 Data sources
In order to collect data, the researcher will utilise both primary and secondary data. The
secondary data will be obtained from various books, journals, government websites and online
articles (Walliman, 2017, p. 47). On the other hand, primary data will be accumulated with the
help of survey and interviews amongst the employees and managers from different MNCs of
UK.
3.5 Data techniques
In terms of data techniques both, quantitative and qualitative techniques will be applied. The
quantitative technique will be applied due to the collection of data from survey. On the other
