Introduction
Globalization comes about due to cross border activities by individuals and institutions
within a global society. This global connectedness influences the individual’s culture, institutions
and the individual. This presentation considers traces of globalization and its consequences in the
global market as shown in the figure below.

Global Connectedness today is evident in:

Drivers of globalization
These have drivers of connectedness, which serve as powerful catalysts designed to
enable and support the global connection processes (Fox, 2014: Yaqub, Khodyakov, Ghez, &
Horvath, 2015). These are:
 Technology (internet connection, mobile technology, skype, social media etc.)
 New demographic trends (International mobility)
 Economic Competition (competitive advantage, environmental systems, market trends)
 Global networks (cloud computing, virtual/digital learning)
Consequences
Consequences of a global market are wide. These include pros and cons of global
connectedness.
Positive effects
Globalization connects the local to the global economy. Local policies influence
international policies and vice versa. Global culture must consider social cultural sensitivity in
order to thrive. The following are some of its consequences:

because it has gained both acceptance and resistance (Tugal, 2013).

The target population is international tourists who have an impact on immigration factors.

benefits and challenges.

encounters. Also: Make sure that you use interdisciplinary lens
clearly and explicitly.
Plan: Again: This is promising. But, think about the differences
between cultural and structural integration. Cultural
integration involves familiarity with the norms and values of a
new society and/or internalizing them. Structural integration
involves becoming a part of organizations and institutions in a
new society. Young people in European countries, who are
susceptible to radicalization are products of cultural
integration and of the lack of structural integration.
