EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The report focus on the challenges and difficulties which are been faced by the counties
which host the event at the global level. There is positive and negative impact on the various
factors such as economic, social, technological, etc of these global events. It’s important for the
hosting country to identify these factors and take steps according in order to provide benefit to
the country at global level.
INTRODUCTION
Global event is define as the events which takes place for fix duration of time which
requires important contribution from the public (Gifford, Howe and Mitschow, 2011). Basically
global event take place with public investment and has a positive impact on the environment and
population. The main issues which are impacting the hosting of global events are economic,
environment and social. The global events have positive impact on the economic that is for
global event large number of tourist will visit the country and expenses done by in
accommodation, food, etc contributes towards economics. Whereas it has negative impact too
that is cost of infrastructure where local government and the local taxpayers need to bear that
cost. Moreover government need to improve the conditions on country that is by improving
airports, roads, etc which involves lot of money. The global event has the positive impact on the
environment as tourism within the country helps in ensuring reducing the water wastage and
protect the nature and local resources of the place. Whereas the negative impact of global event
on environment is that due to lot of gathering the pollution level will increase as it is effecting
the environmental resources. Moreover the global event has the positive impact on the society
that is many people from different places visit which enhance the community spirit and helps in
building networks among the people. Whereas such global event has negative impact on the
society that is the local people need to face traffic issues and there will be lack of rescores which
will lead to feeling of exclusion and alienation. A main objective of the report is to critically
evaluate the impact on global events on various factors such as economic, environmental and
social.

There are various events which take place at global level such as sports events, Olympics
and many more which has various impact on the hosting of such type of events (Willcoxson,
Wynder and Laing ,2010). Basically it has impact on the factors such as economical,
environmental , social , technological and many more so it’s important for hosting country to
identify and evaluate these factors.
The impact from economic perspective

The global events such as Olympic events or any other sport event brings employment
opportunities in the hosting country. Such type of events are big hence require big which need to
designed and manage according to the theme of the event which lead to job opportunities for the
event management sector. Moreover there is requirement of operations and support team which
ensures proper function of operations at the event place (Cost and Benefits of the Olympics, 2020).
In order to manage large gathering a huge and good security is been require in order to provide
safety and healthy environment to the audience. Moreover there is high requirement of food and
accommodation which is a great opportunity for the local restaurants to open there stalls at the
event place. Basically while organizing such events a big number of human resource is required
in order to make the event successful. Furthermore it requires investment in building of stadiums,
hotels, etc which create jobs for the local economy. These extra job opportunities have positive
impact on the growth and development of the economy. Hence create large number of
employment opportunities within the country. The government has to invest in the infrastructure,
road construction, focus on making city beautiful and many more which involves huge fund.
These funds are been acquired from the local resistance of the country by the government. In
form of tax the government collect the fund form people which is been invested in the event and
government must ensure that they would be able to make huge profits and should work for the
benefit of the local population. It is beneficial for the population of the hosting country that is
long term infrastructure such as better roads kink points been formulated and such type of events
promote tourism in the country as it attracts many international visitors. Moreover the focus is to
provide best sporting facilities and all these activities require high investment. The need for
investment is meet through sponsorship, ticket sales and the higher taxes need to be paid by local
population. Furthermore these sporting events attract many people while lead to increase in
tourism and provide benefit to the economy. These events helps in facilitating future trade
practices as the people from different country who are visiting the hosting country finds there
subject interest specially the businessman who want to expand their business. Financial
advantages regularly get from guests obtaining a significant amount of wealth along these lines,
any function which energizes guests into a territory, will convey a monetary advantage. Anyway
to amplify that advantage it implies urging guests to remain locally and use

make the country more beautiful. The government take steps in order to make people aware
about the negative impact on environment due to such event so that population take precautions
and corrective measures at their level in order to reduce the level of pollution. The use of latest
technology in the operations make the process easy and fast which provide effective results. The
use of latest and innovate ways attract the people and provide support in future trade practices.

The impact of these global events on society refers to the manner in which these event
bring changes in the value system, behavior, lifestyle, etc of the individuals or group of people.
These event enhance the degree to stimulate participation in sport and people will pay more
attention to sports and consider it as important aspect of the society. Moreover it will influence

First recommendation is which related to Olympic games in order to encourages investment in
transport and infrastructures due to it is beneficial for economy also. Better transportation and
infrastructures help to improve the efficiency of business and increasing productive capacity of
the economy. For example, London Olympics is global event which organized in London 2012,
so these is the best example to developing rail network east London and helps to improve
infrastructure and overground of train services. These is essential to establishing good network of
transportation facility so event has successful and gathering large numbers of guests (Roche,
2017).
Secondly, major impact on sporting events like Olympics so it attract large number of peoples
which brings boost up to the economy. There ample numbers of events are organized such as
tourist trade, shops, hotels and award ceremony so large number of gathering or visitor come
from another country. The best benefits of these kind of events to attract more foreign visitors so
it also helps to increasing and boost economy. For example, Beijing Olympics which is held in
china it is one of the most popular tourist destination.
Third recommendation is sporting events helps to increasing employment opportunities and
creates job for the economy. London Olympics is the best example in order to greater
contribution in economy. They developing various kind of opportunities in order to improve
performance of events and also helps to attract the more numbers of peoples. There are ample
numbers of development such as legacy of an improved environment, useful new transportation
facility, real-estate development and world class infrastructure. In addition to this, these kind of
events or shows helps to developing international image as well as Olympics organized so they
are designing stadium in very attractive manner and they are capacity are huge (Yatsyk, 2016).
