MAIN BODY
P1: Examination of the diversity of the industry of global events with including the structure and
the way it is organised along with the place of different events in the society :
Mega events :
These are the events that happen on a large scale including people / athletes /
sportsperson of different countries. These are generally popular type of events with the sports or

activities that are popular among the people of the society of high share of the world. These are
organised with capacity of sitting or involvement in any way of a large amount of people. High
amount of cost are incurred in organising these type of events as the quality of the value of the
spectators, confirmation of non discrimination and different other types of elements are
considered before organising them. Various types of mega events are – international sports
events, political fairs, celebrity events, commonwealth games and cultural events (Ernsten,
2018).
Structure – It is the way or form in which the events are practised. The mega events are
structured by considering a lot of elements to assures its quality. The aim of the event is also to
collect maximum amount of returns as the amount of investment is large and there is a risk that
will the investment will be returned or not and if returned how much will be the amount of
profit. So the structure in which the event gets practised is has highly specific format of practise
to ensure the smoothness of event and security of the celebrities of players that will be the part of
the event.
The way in which the event is organised – Firstly the demand from the market is analysed. For
example if there are a lot of fans of cricket, there is high scope of practising a event based on
cricket such as premier leagues and world cups. After analysation of the demands of spectators
of the market, the needed amount of funds are arranged and planning are made accordingly.
These are generally not organised by a single person but a group of people, board or a team.
Place of event where the event gets placed – The mega events are organised in large stadiums,
grounds or auditoriums as there is a high amount of people for spectating the event (Uribe and
et.al., 2021). Also the place of event are generally highly secured and effectively built to
maintain the event in an effective manner with less chances of uncertainties.
Hallmark Events :
These are the culture based events that are generally based on the culture and social
values of the people that live nearby. The topic of hallmark events can diversify from place to
place and are based on the geographic locations. The involvement of people in these events can
be from different countries of the world if these are organised on a large scale and are important
events for any particular cultural group for example in Hajj event, millions of Muslim people
from all around the world go and participate in the event. These events may also have some fixed

date or period on which these are organised. These dates are analysed by the leaders or can be
said as priests of the cultural group.
Structure – The Hallmark events are structured on the basis of purpose and particular cultural
ways in which the events is based. Many types of consideration in the structure are needed to be
considered to assure that it does not harm the culture (Simard and et.al., 2022). Promotion of the
culture is targeted to increase the concern and following of the particular cultural by people all
around the world.
How the events are organised – These type of events generally does not have motive of
building profits but may have donation allowance to collect funds which they can use to provide
better services to the people involved and practise it on a larger scale.
Place of event – These events are organised on cultural places of the particular culture by groups
of people of a particular cultural group and place for the amount of people expected to be
indulged is made.
P2: Factors influencing the development of these events that happen on a local as well as on
global level, contrasting the events in different extremes :
Factors influencing event on local level :
Transportation – This is the factor of accommodation that is needed by the spectators
and players for transporting towards the place of event and home / hotel or other
destination to which the people need to go from the place of event. The geographical
location which have good facilities of transportation is most prone for attracting the base
of spectators from the market. It is directly related with the reach of people that are going
to the event (Eilander and et.al., 2018). Place of event that have lack of transportation
facilities make it hard for the people to visit the event. It directly effects the hype of the
event.
Weather conditions – The conditions of the weather also effect the event and its
practise. It is one of the major factor that influence the mindset of people to participate in
the events and also the happening of the event, as if the event happen in open grounds
like Cricket, the rain can make the event stop. Also if the the weather is not good, the
people will think twice before going to spectate the events.
Factors influencing the industry of events on global level :
Document Page
Income of people – The income of the people of the society affects the market of the
event industry. When there is a rise in the income of people it increases the pocket
allowance and affordability of the people to spectate and participate in the events as
there are generally tickets or participating fees required for the events (Zhang and et.al.,
2021). The events that happen on a large scale and attract people from other parts of the
world help in the economic development of hosting country as it also boost the tourism
sector of the country or place.
Sponsorship – Sponsorship is the allocation of funds from different sources. The global
events are generally practised on large scales, these events need huge amount of funds
for the effective organisation. Different countries sponsor these events by giving them
high amount of planned funds and in return, the events advertise these companies
through putting banner or other things on the place of event or on the uniforms of the
players. This makes it beneficial for both the sides, as the event organisers gets the funds
required for the event and the companies get their advertising done on areas where many
people will be present and view their company.
M1: Evaluating the key factors that influences the development, organisation and structure of the
industry of events and the role different types of events have in society :
Event industry is a large scale industry whose demand and practise is increasing in the
global market rapidly. There are various factors that influence in the development, structure and
organisation of the corresponding industry such as place of event, motive of the event and the
scale on which it is happening (Song and et.al., 2020). These factors impact in the development
and determination of the structure of events happening both on local and on global level. These
events also help in creating a social engagement between people of the society by bringing them
towards supporting one factor and also by providing a platform of interacting with each other.
D1 Using different techniques for critically evaluating the factors that have been influencing and
shaping the event industry with the role it plays in the society :
Practising of events that are liked by the people of the society that have huge huge
likeness and demand in the market, when practised by some organisers in form of events attract
the people on a large scale. This shows the importance of analysing the events that have huge
Document Page
demand and likeness in the market and organise them. The promotional activities also helps in
creating a hype in the market for the event, for promoting the events the organisers use attractive
advertising and also invite celebrities. Cost reduction is also a major factor as this helps in
making the spectating factor available for the middle class people that cover major part of the
society (Su and et.al., 2020). For reducing the cost, sponsorships can be used that provide high
amount of funds in return of just promoting the investing companies in the event through any
planned way. Large scale events also attracts people from other parts of the which direct affects
the tourism and economy of the country / place hosting the event.
Evaluation of the value, legacy and impacts of a variety of global events with consideration of
the environment in which these events are operated :
Global events are events that happen at a place but have high demand on the global
market and people from different pars of the world come and become part of these events. There
is a high amount of investment involved in organising these events. Some common global events
are – world cups, cultural festivals, corporate events and celebrity shows. The value, legacy and
impact of these different types of global events are mentioned below with consideration of the
environment in which they are organised :
Olympics are the most famous and biggest global event that happen in the world. There are many
different types of sports included in these events such as – racing, gymnastics, swimming and
hockey. Generally all of the sports that are practised on worldwide level and have a good
demand in the market are practised in Olympics. These are considered as one of the most
important competition and different countries of the world put their best to perform in the event
(Espersen and et.al., 2022).
Cultural events are the events related to the culture of people of the society. This is the
practising of events in reference to the beliefs and culture of people and can be based on the
demographics or religion of the people. These happen both on global and local level.

these events consider a lifetime achievement and have their biggest goal to achieve medals in the

Excellence, courage, sportsperson spirit, equality, determination and inspiration are some
important values related with the Olympics games.
Values of the cultural values are high for the people that are related with the particular
culture of the event. This helps in creating a interaction between people of similar culture and
create a importance of the cultural on a world wide basis by organising large scale cultural
events.
Legacy
Legacy of an event are all of its planned / unplanned, positive / negative, tangible / intangible
structures that are designed to create a strong long lasting effects of the event. Legacy for
country that host the Olympics is of long term as the country gets attraction of countries all of the
world and their praise (Douglas and et.al., 2022). It helps in boosting the economy and thus
proving benefits to the society, its people, nature and infrastructure level of the country
especially the sports infrastructures.
The legacy of cultural festivals is that they help in making the relationship of people of
country and whole world better, appraising cultural activities of different cultures and helping
each other. All the people of similar culture interact with the each other and the importance of
values also increases. Country hosting a cultural event gets praise from all parts of the world

discrimination and the harmony between the people in a positive way.
Mention different management strategies that are responsible for the development of global
event :
Budget – It is the amount of money that is available and planned to spend on organising a
event. The organising of these events need to a lot of funds for proper execution and
implementation of the staragies planned for an effective event. The amount of funds
required varies on the basis of scale of the event and its motive. There is a need of
Document Page
estimation of the amount of the funds that are needed for the event, this is the budget. The
budget helps in minimising the miscellaneous expenditures (Akhtar, 2020).
Team building – This is the involvement of different members for distributing the
responsibilities and work of the event. Global event s are practised on a global level
which is a very large scale. There are many consideration needed for these types of
events. There is a high amount of responsibilities needed in the organising od these
events. All of these tasks and responsibilities are distributed among the team members.
Venue – The venue where the event is happening plays a huge role in the event. It is
location where the event is planned to be organised. Venue impacts on the amount of
people come to spectate it as it influence the reach of these people. If the events are
organised near main areas more amount of people will be attracted towards it and will
participate in it similarly if it is organised on the outskirts areas there will be less people
ready to travel much for participating in it.
Date – The date or day on which the event is happening also plays a strong role. If it
happens on a weekend or a day on which the target market has their holiday from their
work, there will definitely be higher amount of people present or go for the event.
Similarly if these happen on a work day or a busy day, people who desperately want to go
will not be able to go and participate in those events.
Critically assess the impact that global events have on different levels of the environment;
evaluate the strategies used by the industry to support responsible event development now
and into the future
Global events are directed over large scale with reach of people from all around the world. For
instance, global events have a huge impact upon host country as it provides an opportunity to
promote national culture as well as cultural practices being regulated within domestic boundary
of the economic nation (Zhao and Wang, 2021). Furthermore, it also contributes in financial
support for the countries with immense participation of people from different countries.
Therefore, it facilitates in enhancement of engagement of people from different geographical
areas.
