Introduction
This report aims to identify and analyse the positive and negative
impact of global events on the macro environment. This report will be
discussing all the possible impacts that give influence on organisational
behaviour and decision making.

Positive and negative impacts of the
global events
Events are touching almost every aspect of life which includes
cultural, social, environmental, economic and political aspects. For
that purpose, there are some factors are mentioned below which are
the part of macro environment:
 Physical and environmental impact
 Tourism and economic impact
 Political impact

Physical and environmental impact
This is one of the important factors which should be considered by
organising committee and hosting countries.
 Positive impact: It improves the infrastructure and sustainable benefits
are also felt. The most achievement part of London 2012 was creation
of Olympic Park.
 Negative impact: The negative impact was increasing in pollution as it
invites a large number of people.

Tourism and economic impact
It includes the factors which contribute in economy. Due to the London
2012 Olympic, it provides many positive and negative economic impacts
which are discussed below:
Positive impact: It boosted an economy and providing many long lasting
economic benefits such as increasing collaboration with other countries.
Negative impact: London 2012 Olympic was a mega event and that's
why the host country bore heavy expenditure on organising the event.

Political impact
It is found that politicians and politics are an important part of event
management as they are considered as stakeholders of an event.
 Positive impact: With the assistance of such type of events, London made a
good relationship with other countries that improves their trade relations.
 Negative impact: There was an access interference of political bodies
which creates many barriers in order to organise an event.
