Health promotion is a term defined for portraying the enhancement of the quality of
life for every individual. Through focusing on the prevention factor, health promotion results
in the reduction of both financial and human cost that employer, families, individuals,
insurance companies, communities, medical facilities, nation and the state plan to spend on
the medical treatment (Eldredge et al., 2016). The aim of a health agency lies in the
promotion of well being of the individuals through encouraging healthy lifestyles, prevention
of diseases, injury and illness, enabling an environment that supports the well being and
health and results in the reduction of personal, social and economic harm.
.Importance of Community Health:
Community health refers to the portion of the medication that remains concentrated
upon strength of the whole population and in the avoidance of the illness from which it is
endured. It is done through the formulation of the community diagnosis of which the ailments
represents a vital portion that is averted and after which the composition of accurate control
program takes place.
Importance of Prevention in Healthcare:
Prevention in healthcare refers to the maintenance of healthy lifestyle through diet,
exercise and similar efforts. Thus, preventive care refers to medical setting that includes
varied health care services such as laboratory test, screenings, physical examination,
immunizations and counselling.

CDC Influence and Support in Policy Making
Public health remains concerned with the protection of health communities and the
whole population. Whether big as entire country or small as the local neighbourhood, policy
represents a potentially effective way of improving health of the populations (Walser,
Bourqui & Studer, 2017). The CDC supports and influences policy through five domains that
seems to overlap or take place in a different manner. Nevertheless, in the ideal scenario, is
defined with identification of problem followed by the identification of policy solution,
analysis, prioritization and the evaluation and adoption of the best solution.
Their Role in Health Promotion
CDC holds the responsibility of controlling not only the introduction but also the
spread of the infectious disease thereby providing assistance and consultations to the other
nations and the international agencies for assisting the improvement in the disease control
and prevention, health promotion and the environmental health activities.

How CDC Address Millennium Development Goals (MDG)
Improvements in the maternal and child (MCH) remains one of the primary focus of
health related Millennium Development Goals (MDG) ( Liu et al., 2016). For decades CDC
has engaged in the activities for improving MCH on global scale by concentrating on
building domestic expertise and contributing to the reduction of the child morbidity and the
mortality rate across the world. However, CDC involved itself in wider range of the activities
that addresses major causes of maternal, perinatal and the under five mortality and the
morbidity. This however involves indirect and direct causes of the maternal mortality,

complications related to preterm birth, congenital syphilis, vaccine preventable diseases that
included pneumonia, malaria, violence, injury and nutrition.
Therefore, the global MCH work of CDC focuses on the four major goals. This
includes:
1. Reducing of Under 5 Mortality and Morbidity
2. Reduction of Maternal and Prenatal Mortality and Morbidity
3. Strengthens the Public Health Systems for the MCH
4. Helped in strengthening partnerships

Working Together of CDC and WHO for Influencing Health and Healthcare Diversity
The collaborating centre of CDC’s World Health Organization (WHO) concentrates
on epidemiology, surveillance and the control of the influenza. The collaborating centre of
CDC helps in maintaining a repository of virus isolates and influenza specimen from across
the world. The viruses are then made available to the WHO labs, partners of public health,
vaccine manufacturers and the research institutions (Wine et al., 2017). In addition, the
collaborating centre of CDC conducts research related to public health, supplies and produces
diagnostic reagents for the WHO members thereby providing necessary assistance for out
breaking investigating, capacity building and technical assistance.
