This report outlines a global information system strategy for Shore & More Bicycles, addressing the challenges related to integration, scalability, and data security within the company's existing IT infrastructure. The recommendation is to adopt a Cloud Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) system, customized with modules for finance and human capital management, to manage various operational sectors such as inventory, purchasing, and customer relationship management. The Cloud ERP system offers increased accessibility, real-time information sharing, and robust backup and disaster recovery plans, ensuring business continuity. It also supports the company's global expansion by providing easy access to information across different countries and upholds data security through advanced cybersecurity measures. GLOBAL INFORMATION SYSTEM STRATEGY 2
Introduction
From the outlined IT strategic plan of Shore& More Bicycles Company, few facts come
out clearly regarding the challenges this company is facing and which can be linked to its current
IT systems. Integration in a business organization means everything because apart from
simplifying organization operations, it helps in coordinating different departments of the
organization. Secondly, the current systems of Shore& More Bicycles Company had been
designed without the consideration of the scalability factor and that will limit the expansion of
the organization (AlBar & Hoque, 2015). Thirdly, organization data security is not up to the
standard, especially during the current cybersecurity era. I would propose the adoption of Cloud
Enterprise Resource Management System which will adequately take care of the above mention
shortcomings of the current Shore& More Bicycles Company systems.
Through this type of ERP, Shore& More Bicycles Company will stand a position to
manage the different sectors of its operations such as inventory, purchasing and customer
relationship management (Johansson, Alajbegovic, Alexopoulo & Desalermos, 2015).
Additionally, this type of ERP system will be customized to include modules for finance and
human capital management since it’s a business organization. Unlike the on-premises systems
which the company has been using, cloud ERP will increase the accessibility through the internet
and enable users to transfer and share information across different business departments in real
time (Jain & Sharma, 2016). The system will also be equipped with backup and disaster recovery
plans right from the service provider to minimize real-time interruptions to the business
operations.

With the current changes in the global markets, Shore& More Bicycles Company will be
expected to undergo different changes as its operations diversify and that automatically will
imply the need for a continuous update on the manner in which its systems operates. This is the
main reason as to why I have proposed the cloud technology to make it easy when it comes to
updating any system information (Muslmani, Kazakzeh, Ayoubi & Aljawarneh, 2018).
In the current era of globalization, Shore& More Bicycles Company is expected to
diversify and expand its operations in different countries. Through Cloud ERP system, the
organization will not need to import databases in those countries but just connect with the cloud
service provider and that’s all, the information becomes accessible in wherever the country the
company’s operations are taking place (Nowak & Kurbel, 2016).
Lastly, the system will uphold the security aspect of the organization data and
information. This is an important feature considering the current trends in cybersecurity. The
system comes with backup and disaster recovery plans right from the service provider to
minimize real-time interruptions to the business operations (Peng & Gala, 2014). For that matter,
even in an incidence where the company suffers data loss as a result of natural calamities like
fire and floods, the organization data which is also the most important resource remains intact
and will just need to be retrieved from the backup zone.
In conclusion, the main problems facing Shore& More Bicycles Company IT systems
scale from integration and scalability aspects to data security. The problems are due to the fact
that the organization is still using the traditional Information systems which are currently
obsolete and pose a lot of risks to the organization. Adopting Cloud ERP will enable the

organization to solve these problems and stand a position to compete with the rest of the
organizations in the industry.
