Running Head: GLOBAL LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP
The purpose of the study is to understand the learnings that I have gathered from the
facilitation workshop and the procedures that I can apply in attaining good leadership skills. The
main emphasis of the essay has been given on the challenges and the application of the theories
to mitigate those challenges and the planning, designing and delivering of the aims and mission
towards my team members (Boykins et al. 2013).
Leadership is a skill in an individual to motivate and guide its subordinates for their
better performance. It is the ability of an individual to make its subordinates give proper
recommendation and help them in achieving both individual and team goals. A proper vision and
mission is set for the team members that they have to follow. The workshop that I have attended
has helped me in gathering a lot of knowledge and about the advantages and disadvantages that
are related to leadership the point that are to be considered during conducting proper leadership.
The planning that I have undertaken related to leadership is that I firstly need to have purpose
for my team and accomplish them I must develop some vision for my team in order to conduct
good leadership and inspire my members and acknowledge their work and supports towards the
attainment of the team goals (Chapman et al. 2014). The designing of the team will be done
systematically and there will be some stringent policies that I will be formulating for my team to
follow and supervise them if they face any difficulty in performing their duties. I will deliver
empathy and be considerate towards my subordinates so that they do not feel any sort of
biasedness within the team, my concern for all my subordinates will be equal. I have learned
many things from the workshop such as self-management, which has helped me in learning the
value of leadership and the capabilities required to be a leader (Rosenbach William 2018). I have
also learned the processes to keep the team motivated and inspired by showing them the positive
aspects of team growth as well as individual development and proper and systematic methods for

work management implementing changes strategically and setting proper aims and purposes for
the team to achieve.
The decision-making process is one of the greatest responsibilities of the leader, in order
to formulate and conduct decisions of facilitation workshop I have to consider many important
aspects such as understanding the importance and controlling emotional breakdowns of the team
leaders and at times of myself in order to maintain the stable performance of my team members.
I must also have the potential manage the uncertain and adverse situations or risks that might
affect the performance of the team. I should also have the trust and faith on my team members
for the work that they are performing this will help them developing them in developing self-
confidence.
There are many challenges that are faced while conducting a proper and good leadership,
the challenges that I have faced specially in conducting facilitation workshop are rapid changes
in innovation. The planting of innovations is very challenging because it largely depends on the
adaptability of the team members; the fast the team members adapt the faster is the
implementation of innovations become successful (Bras et al. 2017). Another challenge that I
can face during my facilitation workshop is that ineligible candidates in my team will affect the
productivity and the performance of my team. I also have to seek that the work that I am
assigning to my team member is within their expertise this will help me attain my targeted goals
for my team (Van Wart 2013). There are a pool of candidates that are contesting against each
other hence; it is a big challenge for to choose potential and capable candidates amongst so many
of candidates. Thus, it is very essential for me to conduct good and proper leadership in the
facilitation workshop is that they are many theories that I can adopt in order to mitigate the
challenges and develop a good work environment for my team in which they will feel

comfortable in discussing their problem areas (Johnson Craig 2017). The theories related to good
leadership are democratic leadership in this type of leadership the leaders are very considerate
towards their team members, value their opinions before implementing any decision or
innovations, and see the capability of each team member in adopting the changes. This type of
leadership helps in the growth of the team as a whole and believes in teamwork
(Nanjundeswaraswamy and Swamy 2014). Through this style or theory of leadership, I can
easily help in empowering my team member and build confidence and faith I tem for better
performance. This theory of leadership will also help me in eradicating the challenge where the
team members hence will not adapt innovation, their opinions and suggestion will help me in
implementing good and easy innovation in the team. Pacesetting leadership this is one of the
most effective theory of leadership as this can bring positive and effective changes in the team.
Leaders following this theory is mainly performance- focused, and the leaders motivate the team
members whenever there is a downfall in the performance of any team members
(Nanjundeswaraswamy and Swamy 2014). Adoption of this theory of leadership will help me in
mitigating the challenge of identifying eligible candidates for my team and any loss in their
confidence will help me in boosting it if this theory of leadership is adopted. Transactional
theory, of leadership is helpful in bringing the best out of the employees and bring good positive
results in the team’s productivity. This will help me in developing the skills of the team members
for positive and productive results for the team (McCleskey Jim Allen 2014). Transformational
theory encircles good strategies that helps the team in flourishing with good results and having a
goal for the team that every team member should accomplish (Hawkins Peter 2014). The
strategies are also helpful in making the team accomplish its goals and lead to self-development.

Management of relationship between the employees and the employers, managing
oneself for the sustainability of the team and understanding the business and organizational
policies and targets are the three qualities of good leadership. Hence, I also need to develop all
the three skills in me in order to conduct good leadership in the facilitation workshop. The
benefits of global mindset also helps in having good perspective about the team’s aims and good
communication skills with the teammates (Niessen et al. 2017).
Thus, the study can be concluded that I have learned from the facilitation workshop is
that the importance of leadership, and proper planning, designing and delivering that I need to
provide for my team in order to achieve the goals. The challenges that are existing in leadership
and the theories that I have discussed will help me in mitigating the challenges. The qualities of a
good leader and have been discussed in the content of the study.
