RESEARCH METHODOLOGY-
Research methodology refers to the detail process of gathering data and information that will
help the business in taking the decisions of the business in effective manner. Research
methodology involves the use of various techniques for conducting the research, conducting
survey and interview etc(Pitard, 2019). The data may include current as well as past data.
RESEARCH PHILOSOPHY-
Research philosophy refers to the ways in which the information will be collected for developing
the knowledge of the phenomena. Research philosophy also involves the various types of process
in which data will be collected in respect of the situation that is happening. The choice of a
particular research philosophy is affected by the implication of the philosophy in practical
manner.
There are various types of Research philosophies that can be used for gathering data
related with a phenomenon. Such as Pragmatism, under this type of philosophy it is considered
that, any of the concepts are correct only when they support the action. There are different ways
of analysing a particular situation a particular point of view cannot provides the complete
understanding of the situation. Another type of Research Philosophy is Interpretivism, it says
that, human factor should be considered while conducting research. Various social constructions
such as language, meanings and consciousness helps to analyse the reality. Realism Research
Philosophy, it considers the scientific method for developing the knowledge. Positivism
Research philosophy, the knowledge can be developed with the help of observation through the
senses. In this the researcher plays a limited role in collecting and interpreting the data. The
study will be quantifiable.
The researcher chooses Interpretivism Research Philosophy for gathering data in order to achieve
the aim and objectives To examine the positive economic, cultural and ethical impact of
globalization on marketing function and HR function of research in more precise manner.

experimental etc. It also defines the sub-type of the research, the assumptions taken by the
researcher, variables and experimental design etc.
Research design is of two types such as Exploratory research, it is related with exploring
and evaluating a particular aspect of the area of research. It does not aims to provide complete
solution for the research questions. The purpose is to develop views in respect of a particular
situation. There is no particular procedure for collecting data(Taylor, Bogdan, R. and DeVault,
2015). Conclusive research, the requirement of the data is clearly defined by the researcher. It is
very helpful in developing the solution for effective decision-making. It mainly involves the use
of quantitative methods for gathering and analysing the data. The process of conducting the
research is properly structured and formal in nature. The output of Conclusive Research helps in
effective decision-making. The analysis of data is qualitative in nature.
The researcher chooses descriptive research for collecting the data so that, researcher will
achieve the aim and objective that is to examine the positive economic, cultural and ethical
impact of globalization on marketing function and HR function of research in more effective
manner.
RESEARCH APPROACH-
Research approach is an overall plan that consists of the assumptions that are being taken for
using the method of gathering, evaluating and interpreting the data. The choice of research
approach depends upon the nature of the problem. Deductive Approach, related with
constructing hypothesis on the basis of theory after this, researcher will develop the strategy for
conducting research to test the hypothesis that whether the assumptions are right or
wrong(Kumar, 2019). Inductive approach, starts with the theory and process of observation that
involves the process of searching the pattern from explanations and observation. It does ot
involve any type of hypothesis or theories.
The approach helps to measure research concepts in quantitative way. The approach is related
with deriving conclusions from the propositions. Inductive Approach starts with various theories
and observations of researcher and then the process of conducting the research is developed.
Abductive Approach, the researcher will make efforts for choosing best alternative from various
available alternatives for explaining the surprising facts.

DATA COLLECTION-
Data collection is a process of gathering information from various sources to find out the
solutions for research problem, for testing the assumptions made by the researcher and to
evaluate the results of the research. There are two different types of methods for gathering data.
Primary data, the data collected by the researcher for the first time. For gathering primary data
researcher can use different methods. Such as Quantitative methods that are based on figures.
Quantitative methods involves questionnaire that involves close ended questions , method of
regression and correlation, mode, median and mean. The findings of the research can be
compared in easy way(Pramanik, Mondal, S.C. and Haldar, 2019).
Researcher can also use qualitative methods can be used for collecting primary data. It does not
involves qualitative figures. Non- quantifiable elements such as feelings, words etc are used in
qualitative research method. There are various ways of collecting data in qualitative research
method such as conducting interview, observation, interaction in focus group, conducting case
study etc.
The choice of using the method for collecting data will depend upon the aims and objectives of
conducting research. Secondary data that is published in different magazines, books, online
portals etc. Researched is responsible for applying proper criteria while selecting secondary data
to improve the reliability and validity of the research.

involves analysing and evaluating the quantitative data to determine the rationale for the findings
of the research. In case of qualitative research that is conducted with the help of interview,
experiments etc the data will be analysed by determining the common patterns and analyse them
to achieve the objectives and aims behind conducting the research activity. The comparison of
the findings of research with the literature review is very important in case of quantitative as well
as qualitative research. Thematic analysis is one of the most common method of qualitative data
analysis under research(Young, 2016).
The researcher chooses Thematic analysis under Qualitative data analysis method for attaining
the aims and objective to examine the positive economic, cultural and ethical impact of
globalization on marketing function and HR function of research in more effective manner
because thematic analysis involves various themes that are helpful for understanding a particular
phenomenon and these themes are related with particular research question. Thematic Analysis
under qualitative data analysis method helps in finding precise conclusions of the research
activity with the help of questionnaire.
SAMPLING- Sampling refers to the method of selecting a sample from large population. While
selecting a sample the researcher should ensure that sample will represent the characteristics of
whole population. There are various advantages of the sampling such as there is no need to
measure the whole population and it also helps to collect the data at low cost.
There are two types of sampling probability sampling and non-probability sampling. Under
Probability Sampling, each of the member in the population has a certain chance of selecting
under the study. There are various stages in probability sampling such as determining the size of
sample, choosing a proper technique of determining the size of the sample, examining whether
the sample is representing the characteristics of the population. Another method of sampling is
non-probability sampling, all the members of the population does not have a chance of selecting
in the sample(Hillson, 2017). This is opposite of probability sampling.
There are various benefits of non-probability sampling such as it does not involve high cost, it is
highly effective method etc. Simple Random Sampling is one of the most common method of
probability sampling. In case of Simple random sampling, each and every member of the
relevancy and correctness of the findings of the research. Researcher can use two ways of
analysing the data that are qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Quantitative data analysis, it

P6 Recommendation
It has been seen that the organisation British Telecom is making use of globalisation
effectively and is reaching to new doors along with constantly expanding its product market. It is
helping the organisation to gain better profitability and have a better competitive advantage. In
order to deal with the negative impacts of the globalisation, it is recommended to the
organisation to set a team which can forecast the needs and requirements of the organisation in
the upcoming future. Forecasting its needs and requirements have advantages including gaining
an understanding of the organisational needs and identifying the resources it is going to require
in order to fulfil those needs (Pritchard, Beauchamp and Vadgama, 2017). It can help the
organisation to enhance its personal development and ensure that it is not facing any issues
regarding market growth and competitive advantage. Similarly, globalisation tends to make
British Telecom face large competition. It is because competition is one of the main aspect faced
by the organisation while being a part of the globalisation. British Telecom is a telecom operator
and there are a variety of telecom operators worldwide which are both successful and provides
better services than British Telecom. This makes the organisation hard to make use of
globalisation and achieve better market advantage.
In order to deal with such competition, it is recommended to the organisation to find out
the competitors and look what kind of services they provide to their customers. Also, it is
important to identify in what manner the services provided by them differ by the services
provided by British Telecom (Summanen and Pollitt, 2018). From identification of these factors,
participates. And also there should be adequate level of confidentiality must be present in the

British Telecom face large competition. It is because competition is one of the main aspect faced

In order to deal with such competition, it is recommended to the organisation to find out

important to identify in what manner the services provided by them differ by the services
provided by British Telecom (Summanen and Pollitt, 2018). From identification of these factors,

the organisation can implement required strategies and ensure that better competitive advantage
is being gained by them. A better competitive advantage would lead the organisation towards
success and set growth. Along with it, it is also recommended to the organisation to develop its
products and services as per the needs and requirements of the global consumers. Developing
such products and services would lead the organisation towards better understanding of the
global markets and in what manner it can easily serve them. This can help the organisation to
ensure that appropriate growth and development is taking place and its global customers are
satisfied. Along with it, it is important for the organisation to enhance its products and services
as per the needs and requirement of the global consumer needs. In order to serve them well, it is
important for the organisation to understand what are their needs and wants. To do this, it is
recommended that the organisation makes use effective technologies and customer
understandings and ensure that set growth and development is taking place. British Telecom in
order to understand the customer wants should make use of Customer Management System or
CMS. The software is one of the most effective software to understand the needs and
requirements of the customers. It can enhance its personal growth and development and would
ensure that the customers needs and requirements are being identified.
P7 Reflection.
The present research has allowed me to learn about the globalisation and its impacts on
the operations and functions of British Telecommunications. I found out that the company is one
of the most effective companies in the global environment and is constantly reaching new growth
and development from its expansion practices. While I was starting my research, I prepared the
required aims and objectives. During the preparation of my aims and objectives I did faced some
troubles. This made it important for the me to take necessary help of my peers and friends. I
enjoyed the activity of preparing set aims and objectives. The next step for me was to prepare a
project management plan and a work breakdown structure. The project management plan
prepared by me allowed me develop the knowledge on which in what manner the plan is made
and how effectively is should be made in order to reach set goals and objectives of the project. I
also prepared a Gantt Chart which was interesting for me and I learned in what manner the
effectiveness of a project is earned and achieved (Sidak and Vassallo, 2015). The overall
activities were exciting for me and helped me in learning more about the globalisation and in
is being gained by them. A better competitive advantage would lead the organisation towards
success and set growth. Along with it, it is also recommended to the organisation to develop its
products and services as per the needs and requirements of the global consumers. Developing
such products and services would lead the organisation towards better understanding of the

globalisation.
After the preparation of project management plan and Gantt chart, I moved forward in the
preparation of the research methodology. Preparation of the methodology was a very complex
process for me, as it involved an understanding of methods and analysis and data collection. The
techniques of data collection is very difficult and required an understanding of the overall
research. It is important to ensure that appropriate growth and development is taking place.
Along with it, in order to do this the tools and techniques used by me included internet. Internet
was one of the major source which I used throughout the research. Internet made researching and
things easy for me and allowed me to work faster and easier. I would recommend other
researchers to make use of internet at times of their research and ensure that set growth and
development is taking place. After the research methodologies I prepared a questionnaire and
according to it, I prepared appropriate results and findings (Goddard and Gillespie, 2017).
Preparation of questionnaire was interesting because it involved a lot of understanding of the
behaviour of human being and their understandings. At last, I provided the required
recommendation for British Telecommunications.
CONCLUSION
Globalisation has allowed the organisations across the world to develop new growth and
reach into different horizons of selling and buying of commodities. From the above drawn
conclusions, it can be seen that rise in customers, good profitability, better competitive advantage
are the major positive impacts British Telecommunications has seen from the globalisation.
Along with it, it has been seen that the organisation is having appropriate resources to deal with
