Project management is the process of performing different types of activities such as
initiating, planning, evaluating etc. With the help of all of them a manager can assure the success
for a project by performing all the tasks in systematic manner. The major elements which are
required to be focused for carrying specific activities it is essential for management to analyse
that all the steps which are taken by them are appropriate or not. Present report is based upon a
construction project of a new shopping mall which will be built in Doha city of Qatar. For this
purpose different topics are covered in this report which are application of project management
theory and frameworks, scope, work break down structure, Gantt chart etc. Apart from this,
highlights and critical discussion of cultural and communication nuances are also covered in this
assignment.

While working on a project it is very important for a manager to make sure that different
elements are taken in to consideration. With the help of all of them success of all the tasks could
be assured. All of them that are related to the construction project are as follows:

An external consultant is being hired to work on a project of constructing and designing a new
shopping mall. It will be build in Doha Qatar. There are various sponsors of it which are
American World Wide company specialised in building big malls and QSM, RG and Qatari state
agency. The owner of the mall will be QSM and RG who will operate it as a joint venture. The
design of it will be made by Japanese architectural studio. The contract for constructing it will be
provided to a Spanish company because Spain is known for the best infrastructure and designs. A
British firm will be responsible for carrying out all the activities for analysing quality and its
assurance. The major element which will be focused by the owners is to invite luxury brands to
open stores in the mall. They will be attracted by sharing detailed information regarding
innovative infrastructure and Spanish design of it. For the purpose of spreading awareness of the
mall a famous music start will be invited to perform a concert on the opening day.
Project scope
The size of mall is very big but there will be no space for landing of air planes. It will be
designed by a Spanish company which will make it attracting from other malls in Doha.
