Executive Summary
I rarely emphasized up on working under pressure. The reason behind this is that whenever I am
stressed up by stringent deadlines of my pending tasks, I become disoriented. Hence, my natural
tendency is to complete my tasks much ahead of the deadlines and this is more so in case of my
academic assignments. This assignment was however completed in due time set for the
submission and in this particular context; I would like to tremendously appreciate the group
performance that was put up in this case by my team. By the end of the task, we were supposed
to be in a position to describe the opportunities & threats to global environment, understand how
organizations fit in a global environment, understand how global relationships are formed and
finally understand the importance of forming cross cultural relationships. I was responsible for
time management and communication procedures. My role was to deliver information in time
and regulate the amount of time one spends when discussing their respective topics in the group
chats. The conduction of the procedures related to the accomplishment of the task and evaluation
of the same have been delivered in the assignment which follows.

1. Introduction
Working under pressure has never been on my priority list. This is because anytime I’m
caught up by time; my mind becomes disoriented hence complicating the whole process.
Therefore, I always strive to beat and meet the set deadlines, more so in academic assignments.
When we were given a group Power Point assignment, I was afraid that the task won’t be
completed in time Because of certain reasons. First and foremost, group members were students
from different campuses, and secondly were going to handle the task via whatsapp group.
Contrary to my expectations, the assignment was completed in due time and submitted.
Being totally new individuals, we were never caught by any arguments. Instead, group
cooperation was of the highest standards. Communication was excellent. I loved the exceptional
group performance. We had the mandate of dissecting the entire issue of global environment
(Keshavarz 2015). By the end of the task, we were supposed to be in a position to describe the
opportunities & threats to global environment, understand how organizations fit in a global
environment, understand how global relationships are formed and finally understand the
importance of forming cross cultural relationships.
2. Issues
Leadership and sense of direction is paramount in any group project, therefore, an
assignment of this nature required coordination of the highest level for it to be completed
successfully. Roles were allocated and I was responsible for time management and
communication procedures. My role was to deliver information in time and regulate the amount

person in the group; I believe I performed my duty diligently making the whole exercise
successful (Archer 2006). I made some few observations during the entire durations of group
discussion. Since time immemorial time keeping has always been a huge problem. Many find it
difficult to adhere to the set time. Our group was not an exception. Occasionally, some members
were ever late in the discussions. On the same issue of time keeping, some members were taking
a longer duration when presenting their points. This made the discussion go beyond the set time.
Some members were using slung when presenting their sentiments. This made communication a
challenge (Archer 2006).
With the few shortcomings, the manner in which every individual performed their
respective tasks and the working relations was really amazing. I can generally say the team
dynamic was good. For greater team performance, the stated challenges have to be rectified.
Everyone ought to adhere to the set time. This would reduce the duration taken for the
discussion. Secondly, the agreed time of discussion should be strictly followed (Keshavarz
2015). Late coming should be discouraged. Lastly, communication should be in fluent English.
The use of slung should be prohibited. And eloquence should be highly encouraged so as to
make the process of communication effective and efficient.
A group discussion of that nature broadened my scope of understanding on global
environment. Initially, I viewed it as a complex topic which required intelligence of the highest
degree (Almqvist 2013). However, the manner in which the group members dissected the topic
made it simpler and clearer. Handling the task objectively made the whole process faster.
Therefore, we were able to submit the research in due time.

I was able to identify and describe opportunities and threats to global environment. From
the data collected, some of the opportunities that resulted from global environment were:
investors were in a in a position to access customers from the countries they were investing in. in
addition, government provided incentives to motivate them access new market. Cheap and
skilled labor was also available for such organizations (Almqvist 2013). And lastly, global
environment removed trade barriers for easy and efficient trade process. This information was
really important.
After identifying the opportunities related to the global environment, I also learnt the
threats that come with global environmental. The new business faces great competition from
existing businesses enterprises (Chevin 2010). In addition, language barrier is also a huge
challenge for the newly established businesses. This is because communication will be a
challenge. Market prices also fluctuate in the newly established. This is because they are not
conversant with the market prices.
I also realized how organizations fit in a global environment. I learnt that organizations
can fit in the global environment by adopting the business culture of the new region. In addition,
organization easily fit in the global environment by having enough resources to run the
operations of the businesses. Offering a competitive strategy to existing organization is also a
way organization use to fit in global environment (Chevin 2010). Newly established
organizations have to showcase the potential to revolutionize the existing global business
environment. Displaying these traits motivates existing organizations to incorporate them in their
operations. Coming up with new and advanced strategy is also another way how organizations fit
in global environment. I understood that when new organizations display the relevant strategy

which can bring a positive impact in the business environment. Existing enterprises become
interested in them.
Through extensive discussions I became conversant how global relationships are formed.
I learnt that global relationships also called international relationship is the study of how
different countries are connected economically, politically and by laws(Möhner 2007). From the
extensive discussions, it was evident that most global relationships if not all, are symbiotic
relationships. Some of these relationships are formed on the basis of common values, culture,
religious background etc. In most situations the symbiotic relationship among organizations is on
a trade basis. These global relationships are formed when two countries /organizations sign a
business treaty (Möhner 2007). Such trade agreements create a good relationship especially for
individuals who are directly participating in the trade deal. Furthermore, a peaceful environment
is created for both organizations. In addition,I learnt that global relations are created when
involved countries hold the same values and beliefs. Example, when organizations involved
believe in justice and equality, human rights, ethics among others. Such values bring this
organization together in conferences and symposiums (Bardhan 2011).
I learnt so much from the conversations. I learnt the importance of forming cross cultural
relationships. I was able to understand that everyone identifies themselves with their culture.
Most individuals are attached to their culture and they tend to have a strong feeling towards their
respective cultures. However, some challenges result from cross culture. Different individuals
who come from different backgrounds appear to face some crucial issues (Werther 2010). Some
believe that through the interaction, one’s cultural identity is lost. It was evident that the
individuals, especially couples face serious conflict when it comes to belief and cultural
practices. Ideally, cross cultural relationship has some major issues. Individuals in this dilemma
interested in them.

find it difficult to: cope to the religious practices of the other patty, some have conflicting ideas
on roles and responsibilities furthermore, others have different tactics of handling conflicts.
In cross cultural relationships issue of dressing code, eating and drinking habits and
household work distribution is a huge problem. I learnt that in some cultures, any household
work was for women. This is different in western culture because household work distribution is
equal in both males and females (Bardhan 2011). Some cultures consume alcohol more than
other cultures. Therefore, when such individuals marry the issue of alcoholism will be major
threat to their relationship.
Despite the differences which arise from different cultures, cross cultural relations are very
important. It’s important to form cross cultural relationships. The relationship provides a
conducive work environment for organizations. When there is harmony between two individuals
from different cultures, work productivity will be high. I also learnt that, through cross cultural
relationships, people share different ideas.
Normally different people have different ways on how they view and perceive life. Therefore,
when they interact, they come up with means to solve life issues (Förster 2009). Through cross
culture, vices in the society are eradicated. Some societies have cruel perspectives on some
issues. Therefore, when such individuals get to hear other people point of view, they change the
way they were viewing issues. Lastly, through these cultural relations harmonies are created.
People learn to exist peacefully and resolve differences when they arise. People also appreciate
and embrace the culture of others. This creates a better and peaceful society (Förster 2009).

5. Conclusion
In conclusion, I must confess this was the most successful online discussion that I have
ever take part in. Being an interactive process, communication skills and interaction skills were
well used. Also, in the research section, I learnt the importance of cross-sectional interactions.
The interaction creates strong bonds among people from different backgrounds (Werther 2010).
On the same note, I understood the benefit of organizations fitting in global environment. This is
because, by fitting in, they open wide avenues for their products and services. Lastly there are
threats and opportunities to global environment. In this section, one thing that was clear is that,
language barrier was a limitation to global environment. However, in the latter, the government
offers incentives to promote organization development. Cheap and skilled labor is another
advantage which global organization was enjoying.
