Global reporting Initiative is an international independent standards establishment which
provide helps to the businesses and other organisation regarding their impact on issues related to
climate change, corruption etc. In this report , two firms are being chosen which include Wesfarmer
limited and Woolworth group ltd. Wesfarmer Ltd is an Australian Conglomerate It provide services
to the Western Australian farmers. Woolworth group ltd is involved in the retail industry it has
division which consist of supermarket, liquor, petrol etc. In this assignment, it will include the
information regarding Global reporting Initiative report of both the companies and will contrast and
compare the sustainability report of the both organisation.

GRI Objectives
Global reporting initiative objectives for the companies assist in identifying the ways
through which the firm is able to provide the employees with the safe work environment.
Wesfarmer:
People: Wesfarmer provide the employees with the safe environment to maintain the safety level in
the organisation (Vigneau, Humphreys and Moon, 2015). The firm is involved in providing the
employees with job opportunities in order to improve their level of performance and to develop
their career. It assists in providing the employees with the inclusive work environment in order
to reduce the diversity.
Woolworth
People: Woolworth focus on maintaining the diversity ion the workplace. The company is
promoting gender diversity at the work place as there are wage gaps which are provided to
the men and wome4n in the organisation. The firm also include the Indigenous people at the
workplace in order to contribute towards the welfare for the Australian people.

WESFARMER
As per the sustainability report of Wesfarmer Ltd it is being identified that the firm is
complying with the GRI standards. The company’s external Auditor Ernst and Young which has
audited the sustainability report and found that the organisation prepare it reports as per the
Guideline of Global; reporting initiative (Barkemeyer, Preuss, and Lee, 2015). The firm has chosen
the core options in order to prepare the reports as it is relevant for the GRI output.

The firm is providing the disclosures as per the core requirement of the GRI standards which are
