INTRODUCTION
Global Sustainable tourism development is the baseline and the standard that is for to
sustain and develop the tourism and travel. It stats the visiting places for the tourist that has the
positive impact on the growth of the environment (Amerta, 2018). Tourism industry has the
huge impact on the development of the society as emphasis the culture, social system and also
affects the nature as well. This report is based on the TUI group that is an Anglo multinational
travel and tourism company of German. This reports includes the adverse impacts of travel and
tourism that drives the need and sustainable tourism development and the concepts of sustainable
tourism. Furthermore, includes the key principles underpinning the development process and the
role of stakeholders in global sustainable business.

P1) Assess the adverse impacts of travel and tourism that have driven the need of sustainable
tourism development.
Tourism imparts the enhancement of economy as this sector provides employment to a
lot of people and generate a lot of opportunities in the market. It drives the lot of adverse impact
in the environment that are as defined as:
Environmental Effects of tourism:
There are a lot of places for tour and travel that has direct impact on the life and economy
of the country. It is the phenomenon that is more important for the country as it brings a lot of
burden to develop and maintain the cost that is engaged to manage the tourism. To develop more
tourism the land must be very much cleared and has hotels and wide roads as well. Animal
habitats also gets affected by this process as a lot of land will be consumed by the hotels and
buildings (Edgell, 2019). Thus animal get affected and they are in more trouble while protecting
their food and territory. There are several other problems as well like disposal of water that
decreases the water level of the earth and it degrade the environment. The large wastage has
been produced that is dumped directly into the sea that has negative impact on the animals that
live in marine. Thus to brings the positive impact in the environment tourism plays vital role and
maintain sustainability within the environment. After the evaluation of adverse impact
government also contributes a lot to save the environment and protects and sustain the tourism
from all the different alternatives.

from the tourism industry. As like water and electricity that has been used by the tourist on a
wider platform and save the natural resources and reduce, reuse the different resources. There is
more problem as well as like soil erosion that the new construction and development of new
buildings somehow reduces the purity of soil (Higgins-Desbiolles, 2018). To develop and
maintain government takes some strict rules and policies to save the environment and maintain
sustainability within the tourism.

Sustainable tourism maintains the balance between the social and cultural aspects by
understanding the environmental and economic factors of the country. It helps to protect and
conserves the biodiversity that includes plants and animals. It reflects a lot of effort to save and
maintain the balance behaviour to attain the resources for the future generation as well. It could
be possible that if everyone is using the resource as same how all use them now then it is very
hard to save the resources for the future period of time. There are different activities that spoils
the environment on larger manner as like plastic consumption, cutting of trees, degradation and
many other as well. On the other hand, tourism maintains the sustainability by contributing
maximum efforts to the environment and save the biodiversity and enhance the economic of t he
country as well.
It provides the betterment and support to the economy and the environment by protecting
the natural habitats. The revenues that has been generated from the visitors that is invested to
safe the environment. Thus sustainable tourism is most needed as per the social aspects as well
as it provide the employment as well. It is the best source of income for the regional sector as it
also develops the overall image of the particular region. It contribute its best to the environment

the business and works with four pillars that is wider operations, consumers, wider customer

environment as per demand of the tourist. They contribute in the development of nation and
