What advantages are there to groups/teams comprised of members from around the
globe? How would these advantages be different in complex projects? What challenges
do you believe a PM will face in managing a project group over international
boundaries? How can you prepare for, or minimise these challenges?
Diversified project members are very much significant in both simple and
complicated projects. The socio-economic variety can be identified using the inputs coming
from different aspects. New waste management procedures can also be identified from the
project team members (Binder, 2016). The other significant benefit of a team having
members from different part of the word is the enhanced decision making strategies. Cultural
vision of the project can also be managed in the first place in the project having team
members from diverse fragments of the world. The business reach and the business value of
the project can also be significant enhanced using with the inputs coming from the project
members from various countries and communities. Complex projects have different aspects
like cost and time management (Niazi et al., 2016). There are diverse categories of risks and
ambiguities with complex projects and the incorporation of the project members from
different parts of the world will be very much helpful to remove the unpredictability of these
projects.
Dealing with cultural diversity and language barriers are the most significant
challenge for the project manager of complicated projects. Decision making capability and
selection of the approach required in the projects are the other prime challenges faced by the
project managers where there project group members from different parts of the world.
An acceptance approach from the project manager and frequent communication ate
the main ways to manage project team member from different countries (Ubell, 2016). At the

same time it can also be said that supporting diversity initiatives can be very much beneficial
to address the issues of having team members from diverse parts of the world.
