Introduction
Global Technology Industries is a company that deals with the manufacture of software,
hardware, and all computer-related devices. The company has been in operation for over two
decades now, and has established itself all over the world. The company has over 1000 workers
globally, and constantly hires freelancers for short-term contracts. The company is structured
with a personnel hierarchy beginning from the chief executive officer who controls the decisions
and strategies that are important for the success of the company. The chief technology officer is
in charge of the technological decisions of the company. The chief operations officer is in charge
of the operations and international acquisitions that are important in the expansion of the
company. The board of directors are also constantly making decisions and checking on the use of
the company’s capital and assets. Below this hierarchy are the employees in different
departments responsible for different jobs such as software design, web design, and hardware
development. A WHS system was designed in order to address the issues related to occupational
health, workplace conditions, and safety within the company. The system was developed within
a specified time framework and for specified requirements in order to satisfy its obligations
within the organization. The WHS tool allows users to generate plans for health and safety in the
organization (WHS Monitor, 2019).
Part A
Global Technology Industries is a company that deals with the manufacture of software,
hardware, and all computer-related devices. With over 1000 workers globally, the company is
headed by the CEO and chaired by the chairman of the board. The WHS system has been
designed in order to provide a clear outline for the management of organizational work, health,
and safety requirements. The WHS system will be available for all workers and freelancers,

where they will be able to read and understand the guidelines and ask questions for any
clarification. Protection of privacy for individual data is a state legislation relevant to the
company as it handles a lot of corporate and individual confidential information. At times the
company has to sign a non-disclosure agreement. By analyzing the working conditions within
other organizations, the WHS system can be updated with the relevant information necessary for
better health and safer conditions.
Codes of Practice
The company has codes of practice that outline how to consult with clients. The codes of practice
set out the standards within the company.
1. Confidentiality: Managing client data must be done with utmost integrity in order to
safeguard private information.
2. Ethics: Providing services with honest and honor.
3. Duty of care: Care for human rights, well-being of the society, and the environment.
4. Conflict of interest: Avoiding dealings with competitor companies.
5. Moral rights: Respecting the moral copyright shown by our clients.
6. Professional conduct: Carrying out services professionally and with integrity.
7. The company regularly checks on clients to keep the needed information up to date.
Through consultation with colleagues in the company, it is fair to say that various issues arose
such as the facilities for employees which are not enough. The consultation took place 2 weeks
ago on a Friday. As discussed, there are various issues in the work environment that should be
addressed such as hygiene, better furniture, and better screens with antiglare to protect from eye
strains as explained by James from the cyber security office at 9am. Consultation with the
employees is done once in every two weeks in order to shed light on arising issues and thoughts.

The current computers need to be upgraded to better and more comfortable computers with
comfortable keyboards (Charlie, software expert at 12 noon). The company also needs to come
up with custom note books and pens with company logos since employees currently have to
purchase their own (Margaret, web developer at 12:30pm). The current congestion within the
offices needs to be addressed since various incidences of people collapsing have been observed
(Abby, marketing officer at 1pm). In addition, newly hired employees need to have their own
training to have them equipped with our current systems and risk management strategies (James,
intern at 1:30pm). As reported by Charles, the guard at 2pm, in case of fires, the fire
extinguishers have been installed and emergency exits have already been built.
Due to the needs identified and the results from the consultation, a WHS system was developed
in order to address the health issues and to increase the company output, employee comfort, and
customer satisfaction.

introduction to company equipment and systems, second week is how to use the different
equipment, third week is how to create custom products for specific clients, and the final week is
how to deal with hazards and risks.

Description of the WHS System
The WHS system is designed in a way to assist the organization in minimizing the risk of
fines and penalties, minimize compliance costs, protect the coverage of insurance, enhance the
reputation of the business, reduce the stress level of employees, freelancers, and keep employees,
and clients safe (Workplace OHS, 2018). The WHS system is a legislation that consists of a
number of codes of practice that should be exercised, and a WHS act. Global Technology
Companies is under the legislation to ensure the safety of the people within the organization by
ensuring healthy and inhabitable conditions. Workers within the organization as outlined by the
WHS system will be responsible for their own health and safety, and ensure that their conduct
does not affect other workers within the organization.
Purpose of the WHS System
1. Establishing a healthy workplace.
2. Safeguarding the health of employees, freelancers, clients, and visitors.
3. Identifying potential hazards within the workplace.
4. Setting a framework for dealing with hazards.

2015).The system has been planned and documented carefully, and all methods of identifying
and managing hazards have been verified. Risk management is a major factor that ensures the
direction of the company is for the good of the future and all resources are maintained (Becker &
Smidt, 2016.

in order to cover health of employees my means such as wearable health systems (Lymberis &
Gatzoulis, 2006. According to Verma et al,. (2012), the well-being and fitness of the personnel is
a major factor that contributes the need for a simple and effective method of analyzing and
monitoring health. Mismatching the medical sensors and mart phones leads to failures in the
implementation of the functionality of the system. A model-based approach has been developed
as a means to improve the design and to verify the WHS system as it simplifies its functionality
and enables abstract system implementation. The system has a diverse hardware, operating
system, and programming languages which have enabled its development. The system features
automatic code generation that ensures a reduction in human errors and ensures fast
implementation. The system has been design in relation to the existing laws, policies, and
procedures which guide its implementation. The system has a proper interface which allows for
consultation within the organization, therefore proper communication within different
departments. The system is highly accessible and user-friendly to all users regardless of the level
within the organization. There is need for all organizations and companies to manage their health
services and systems (Lymberis & Gatzoulis, 2006).
