well as influence the number of tourist in the country. It is essential for tourism industry for
particular area to analyse and evaluate different aspects that could affect tourism activities
(Lenzen, and etal., 2018). Tourism can be define as the travelling activity for pleasure or
business requirements. Tourism business includes attracting, accommodating and entertaining
tourist form different areas for operating tours. Chosen area for this report is United Kingdom.
This is very attractive tourism place that includes different area for enhancing the visiting
experience of tourist. In this report different negative impact that could be faced by tourism of
United Kingdom area has been analysed.

Tourism is one of the largest industry in all around the world and it will lead to have major
impact on growth or developing of a nation. It is crucial to analyse and determine different
aspects of tourism industry which can affect the performance. Travelling is considered to be very
beautiful thing as it helps in learning various new things and gaining better understanding about
different aspects. Tourism play very crucial role in uplifting societies and communities. United
Kingdom tourism includes four major counties that is Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and
England. United Kingdom is located on north western coast area of the European continents.
This area is filled with many lakes that is also known as lochs. These lakes are consider as the
result of melting glaciers (United Kingdom Tourism, 2020). It is very important for a country to
have effective and efficient tourism practices in order to successfully and effective enhance
economy of the world. This will lead to attract more and more customers to United Kingdom
area boast revenues. Tourism practices are significant for creating more job opportunities in area
as well as providing information to visitors about the different aspect of societies and culture of
the respective area. Culture exchange between tourist and local citizens is very crucial as it will
lead to enhance the culture and improve communication with other people (Cornelissen, 2017).
There are various benefits attain by government through effective and efficient tourism practices
and significant impact over growth or development of United Kingdom area.
There are number of issues and problems which can negatively impact over tourism
practices. It is very crucial for tourism industry of United Kingdom to determine and evaluate

these factors in order to develop correct and accurate strategies for successfully conducting
tourism activities. The major negative impact which could be face by tourism are damage to
landscape, traffic or pollution, expensive local good, expensive accommodation (The impacts of

tourism activities in a particular country can impact over the natural resources or impact over the
damage of landscape. Due to increase in tourism practices there will be huge negative impact
over the livestock of nation. Damage to the landscape includes litter, erosion, fire, vandalism and
many more. These practices will lead to direct affect the living of local citizens. For example,
because of irresponsible visitor Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National park catch fire.
Visitor has litter and set the fire is the park due to lack of carelessness or irresponsibility. This
lead to have major impact on natural beauty of nation and influence future tourism activities.
Tourism practices will lead to increase traffic congestion and pollution in the nation. Increase in
pollution or traffic will significant affect the health condition of citizens (10 Negative Effects of

people who live in that nation. When tourist is purchasing local products in high rate then price
of these products will automatic increase. This will lead to impact on local customers and their
capability to purchase local products. Tourist are willing to pay more amount of money to local
products which make product more expensive. Tourism activities leads to development of more
shops and hotels. Increase in number of shops and hotels in a particular place impact on the
living of local people and negatively affect their life style. Tourism practices in United Kingdom
area has increases the process to houses for local citizens (Scott, Hall and Gössling, 2019).
There is high demand of holiday homes which is increase by tourist practices. Because of this the
price of making housing is too expensive for local people. When tourism activities are increasing
in a selected nation then many people are associated with tourism activities. Tourism is a
seasonal business and due to this jobs are mainly seasonal and employees will get lower wages
with long working hours.
Tourism have may negative effect which can lead to serious issues to the lifestyle of human
beings or natural beauty of people. There can be huge destruction of natural and natural and
habitat loss with the growth or development of tourism practices (Understanding and overcoming

require huge interference with the nature or old monuments. Increase in tourist visit will

negatively affect the area and many animals lose their natural habits. For enhancing tourism
practices, more hotels, restaurants, roads and other facilities are develop for providing ease to
visitors. The negative effect of tourism practices is directly on waste disposal and it will damage
the area with the toxin waste release over the time frame of tourist visit (Tourism, 2020). The
negative effect of tourism activities is directly on the resources of the area. When number of
visitors are increase then they will use more resources of the country. For example, Hong Kong
is consider as the example of excessive usage of natural resources in the densely populated area.
In this location large number of tourist visit and use the resources of this area for living or
travelling. Because of this reason Hong Kong country have used excessive amount of natural
resources and it lead to increase in shortage of natural resource. Tourism activities lead to loss of
cultural identify of the particular place or community. Increase the number of tourism visit
negatively affect the culture and communities of that society. There is high chances the local
people start adapting themselves as per the requirements of tourist and may start copying the
lifestyle of tourist. This will have major negative impact over values and culture of the local
citizens. Copying of tourist lifestyle will lead to loss of the native traditions and customers of the
particular areas and the local citizen will also behave or talk like tourist visiting in that area

satisfy the needs of tourist customers is one of the major negative impact of tourism.
Criminal activities and crime will be increase with the increase in tourism practices. It is
very easy for tourist or visitors to do any kind of criminal practices in local area and move to
other place. Local citizen are not well aware about the background of any tourist visitor and this
can lead to introduction of different criminal practices. Carelessness and ignorance in tourist
practices will lead to negatively impact over the local customers and moral values of people.
Increase in criminal activities due to tourism practices will influence anti social activities,
religious values and loss of moral (The Importance of Tourism on Economies and Businesses,
2020). Tourism activities includes visiting zoo or other places which consist of animal. The
exploitation of animals in order to entertain the tourist people is consider as the negative impact
of tourism activities. In many area animals are use to entertain tourist visitors and many people
behave badly with animals. Travel or tour that offer animal experience seems to be fun for tourist
but is negatively impact the animal. These type of practices lead to have major impact on life of
animal and they live in a very poor condition.

From the above report it has been concluded that there are several negative aspects that is caused
by tourism practices. Tourism activities are beneficial for growth or development of country as it
enhance economic system and improve GDP rates. There are number of factors such as natural
elements, resources, local citizen, animals and many more which are affected by the tourism
practices. Tourism activities create seasonal jobs and employees who are working in this field
have to face different financial issues in off season. Natural beauty of nation is affected with the
increase in number of visitors to a particular place. There will be excessive use of natural
resources by the tourist visitors. It is important to develop and create effective strategies for
resolving these issues.
