Report
With the increase in globalisation and technological advancements the trend of travel and
tourism has increased which has also enhanced the scope of hospitality or tourism industry
leading to increased chances of growth and development of many destinations. After learning
about the six global megatrends which are affecting the hospitality and tourism industry i have
understood that it is important that the tourism industry needs to expand sustainably. It is
important so that the needs of travellers now and of the next generation can be efficiently
fulfilled and it can continue to grow efficiently without harming the environment negatively.
Technology can be utilised effectively so that conservation of energy can be done simultaneously
providing highly effective services to customers so that positive impact of tourism can be created
on the environment. Also i learnt that technology can help in engaging more customers by
providing them virtual experience through AR and VR techniques so that more number of
tourists can be attracted. Security also plays an important role in enhancing tourism as this help
in ensuring peace, security and safety and so it is important that countries come together to
restore global peace to increase tourism. Also people from various economic backgrounds and
ages are preferring travel and tourism which requires effective management of resources so that
the opportunity can be utilised and economic advantages can be achieved. Thus this subject
helped me in understanding about the factors which are helping in boosting tourism industry so
that these factors can be efficiently utilised through innovations and critical thinking.
Relate
While learning about the subject my knowledge related to tourism industry increased which
helped in understanding about the trends of travel and tourism in market and how it can be
boosted. The learning of the topic also helped me in critically analysing the factors so that their
negative impacts on the industry can be minimised thereby maximising the positive impacts so
that tourism can be boosted globally and an integrated global community can be developed. The
six global megatrends which are related to tourism industry helped in understanding about the
importance of technology, innovation, security, digitalisation etc. in improving tourism. I also
learnt that aging population is the fastest growing segment in tourism industry which means that
the resources provided to them must be able to satisfy the customer requirements. Tourism
related to heath is also increasing which include spa, ayurvedic treatments etc. so that overall

comfort and relaxation of body and mind can be gained. South East Asian countries are
increasing as potential destinations for travelling which means that it is important that
sustainable approaches are applied by these countries so that travel and tourism can effectively
increase. Digital technology plays an important role in enhancing the personalisation of
experiences for customers which can help in increasing tourism in various destinations along
with increasing security and political stability of these places. Learning this subject helped me in
becoming more critical and analytical so that the megatrends can be closely analysed and
effective solutions in areas where improvement can be made were found by me.
Reason
The subject related to six mega trends has helped me in enhancing my knowledge on factors
which help in enhancing the tourism industry so that the knowledge can be practically applied
and help me in my personal and professional development. After understanding these factors i
can use my knowledge in developing finding ways through which tourism can be increased and
better facilities can be provided to tourists. This study can also help me in future so that i can
build my career in travel and tourism industry which can help me financially and also support in
my success and future growth and development. This study is important as it help in improving
the knowledge regarding sustainability in tourism industry so that the future generations can
apply their knowledge effectively in improving the industry effectively. This study can also help
me in developing my innovative thinking so that i can help in improving and enhancing the
utility of this industry so that high profits can be generated. Better knowledge related with this
industry can help me in finding job in my desired hotels so that i can succeed in my career. Also
the six mega trends are important so that students can develop knowledge on how effectively
customer needs are fulfilled so that an industry can grow in market. Technological advancements
needs to be integrated in the tourism industry so that better outcomes can be achieved and growth
in the industry can be achieved.
Recommendation
From the above discussion it can be said that as the countries are becoming more connected
through increased globalisation along with the integration of technological advancements the
travel and tourism industry is expanding effectively. It is therefore important that these trends are
closely analysed which can help in improving the tourism industry through effective application

of knowledge so that the needs and wants of customers can be effectively met. This can help in
enhancing customer satisfaction which is essential in expanding an industry. From the study of
six global megatrends it can be said that certain improvements can be made which can help in
making the hospitality and tourism industry even better.
 Improved transportation and increasing the affordability of hospitality industry can help
in increasing travel and tourism of a place.
 Use of digital techniques like AR and VR can help in enhancing the customer interests
and help in improving tourism industry.
 Adopting CSR policies can help in enhancing the sustainability of tourism related to a
tourist location.
 Political stability, peace and low rate of terrorism are important for a location which
makes it important for government to improve their relations with other nations.
Apart from the above recommendations i also have certain new ideas which can be
implemented to improve tourism industry like using solar energy which can help in increasing
energy conservation, use of SEOs to track the interests of customer so that services can be
developed accordingly, promoting the main attractions of a place along with competituive
facilities which can help in enhancing tourism etc. can be implemented to increase tourism and
also to adapt to the emerging global megatrends.
