1ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE
The purpose of the following essay is to determine the fact that global warming has been
a huge problem all over the world. The various toxic gases gets mixed with the atmosphere with
the earth and the result of this is the global warming. As a result of the global warming, the
average temperature of the world’s surface will rise (Trenberth et al., 2014). The ill effects of the
global warming will be discussed in this essay. It has been found from the overall empirical
research that the main reason for the global warming in the environment lies in the hands of
human beings only. The cutting of trees on a regular basis is shown as the main factor behind
that.
Some arguments will be discussed in this essay regarding the effects of global warming
and its impacts on the environment. Notably, these ill effects on the environment will have a
deep impact on the lives of human beings as well. The nature has declined because of this global
warming in a large manner (Trenberth et al., 2014). Numerous species are on the verge of
extinction due to this phenomenon. The overall natural balance has been harmed by this issue.
The results of the research works will be discussed to find out how much it has impacted on the
society.
Many researchers have gone on to explore different perspectives of the global warming.
This is why they have identified some important sections that are needed to be highlighted. The
critics and scientists have opined that it is the overall result of the human beings destroying the
natural environment without thinking of the harmful consequences that they might have to face
(Fu et al., 2015). Common people have not given the needed focus on the well being of the
environment. They have continued on their work of cutting the trees, clearing up jungles and
forests for building up mansions. Now, the time has come when people will have to pay its prices
completely. Critics have also argued that it is too late to take any positive measures regarding

saving the environment properly. However, it is undoubted that improvements will have to be
made in this scenario. Otherwise, it will become almost impossible to save the mankind from
destruction.
A very big problem regarding global warming is many species are getting extinct. Apart
from cutting down the tress, the use of plastic and other waste materials within the society has
been highlighted as other basic problems for the society. Many environment specialists have
observed that the water bodies all across the world are becoming toxic because of the use of
plastic (Fu et al., 2015). Therefore, it is becoming very much difficult for the different animals to
live with their usual life habits. Besides water bodies, land regions are getting full of toxic as
well. This is the reason it has become very much important for different organizations to come
up with natural solutions to purify the environment. The animals and fishes have to move to new
environments so they can thrive in the environments (Crowther et al., 2016). Naturally, it has
become very much problematic for them to thrive in these environments as they are not able to
thrive in the new environments. Therefore, it revolves like a chain reaction process and it has
hampered the overall environment as well.
The new conditions that have been chosen by animals, birds and fishes are sometimes not
fit to thrive in. Apart from that, the surface temperature has been rising because of this reason as
well. Plastic is a very much toxic substance and this is a major reason for the rise in surface
temperature as well. The future of these practices is grim (Crowther et al., 2016). The
environment specialists have cautioned the authorities of this kind of temperature rise. In future,
water crisis might also be experienced as well. Amidst this problem, several corporate
organizations should come up to curb this problem. They can treat this as a part of their CSR
activity as well. The need of the hour is to protect the environment at any cost so rapid climate

changes can be prevented. The threats to climate have been increasing a lot in the recent times.
(Fu & Feng, 2014).
This is why the surface temperature of the earth is rising very highly. The climate
changes in the world will create several major problems around the world. The scientists have
tried to find out the various reasons for this global warming. They have come out with three
important reasons that might have caused this environmental degradation and global warming.
These probable three reasons are rise of the greenhouse gases in the world, ill effects of the
industrial revolution and deforestation. These problems should be curbed properly so the level of
pollution can be decreased. Critics have interpreted this fact on a very positive note that global
warming will impact negatively on the agriculture, health of the human beings and livestock (Fu
& Feng, 2014). These reasons will be explained in the next segments of the essay.
At first, the impact of greenhouse gases on the environment should be discussed. The
greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, methane and other gases are crucial
components that constitute the greenhouse gases. Gases like nitrous oxide, chlorofluorocarbon,
methane, water vapor and other gases are harmful for the human beings and these gases often
increase the temperature of the temperature of the earth (Li et al., 2015). Ozone gas is created by
the sun light and it also caters to the natural pollution in many ways.
The second cause to be concentrated in this essay is about the industrial revolution. Due
to this factor, pollution has increased numerous times. This industrial revolution has been caused
by the activities of the human beings only. The emission of carbon dioxide has been increased
due to the development of industries. Many waste materials have found to be polluting the
natural environment in a huge way. Scientists have argued that the sources for fossil fuels should

be stopped otherwise the degradation in nature cannot be stooped. Components like coal,
petroleum and others have increased and it has aggravated the emission of carbon dioxide all the
more (Li et al., 2015).
Apart from growth of the industries, another major reason for the growth of
environmental pollution is use of transport vehicles. Environment specialists have recommended
the use of the natural gas sources to be used in the transport systems. Apart from these factors
another major factor in this issue is that of deforestation. The cutting down on trees in different
countries on a regular basis have aggravated the pollution rates in a large manner. The loss of
trees in the nature has resulted in turning fertile lands into deserts (Bliss, Hock & Radić, 2014).
So, it is definitely a very bad effect. In the recent times, it has been reported that a large portion
of the nature has been vacant because thousands of trees have been cut down to increase the
possibilities of industries. This has hampered the overall balance in nature. The nature has been
affected in a large level by deforestation.
The effects of global warming are very much important to be noted because it has been
largely harmful. One of the worst effects is felt in the field of agriculture. The agricultural lands
are affected largely due to this emission of carbon dioxide and other gases. Climatic effects are
very effective in the case of agriculture. Therefore, global warming has changed the climatic
cycle in several countries (Bliss, Hock & Radić, 2014). As a result, it has impacted negatively on
the agriculture and growth of crops in the world. The use of chemical substances on crops has
aggravated the negative effects of global warming as well. Though it is important to note that
global warming is really very bad, other factors should be considered in this scenario as well. It
is essential to discuss about bad factors of the global warming to get an idea how global warming
can destroy the world in its own ways.

At some levels, agriculture is dependent on the availability of carbon dioxide at some
levels. The empirical research on this topic has shown that water supply is also very much
evident and relatively it is one of the biggest factors for the benefits of growing plants. The rise
of global warming can also hamper the supply of water through the events like floods and
droughts (Milner et al., 2017). This is why the use of carbon dioxide in an excessive manner will
surely hamper the environmental capacity in a large manner. One good point of global warming
is the fact that higher latitude areas like Siberia might become productive for crops. One concern
still engages in this scenario that the soil of the Arctic regions is not at all appropriate for land
farming. Therefore, agriculture all over the world might go through a bad patch indeed (Urry,
2015).
The ill effects of global warming can also be felt through the lack of seasonal
productivity and wildfires. The coldness of many areas will be disrupted and it will become very
troublesome for the animals of those regions to thrive. Another factor for this is the impact on
health by the global warming (Milner et al., 2017). The increase o the earth surface temperature
is both good and bad from several viewpoints. If the bitter coldness in some territories could be
stopped, particularly aged people will be saved from death. On the other hand, these same people
are also susceptible to excessive heat. If this heat is increased to higher levels, these people will
also face several difficulties to live. The percentage of deaths will also go up than the percentage
of deaths due to severe cold (Zemp et al., 2015). Another negative factor in this scenario is the
disease bearing insects like mosquitoes will spread across places.
The critics of several global universities have also feared the aspect of polar melting in
this situation of global warming. The ice caps of the polar regions of the world are melting down
and this will be a huge threat in the future. The attempt is to build up an ice free passage between

the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean. This is why it has been a concern for the environment specialists.
This attempt has been done for gaining commercial benefits in this region. However, the
negative situations are very much problematic in this situation. If the polar ice continues to melt
like this in the future, it will pose a great threat for the animals like polar beer, penguins and
others to survive in this planet (Zemp et al., 2015). Therefore, it seems that stakes are higher to
save the environment from the grasp of global warming. The Greenland ice cap melting is a
perfect example of this event. Scientists have identified the risk of ocean acidification as well.
The pH levels of the ocean are getting disrupted. This has been posed a major threat for the
environment (Revesz et al., 2014). As the glaciers are melting all over the world, it will be a big
factor for the destruction of the environment in a big way.
Global warming has also threatened the low lying areas of the world. It is because of the
potential threats due to the rise of the sea levels. The rice fields are thus mixed with the salt water
of the seas. This is how the ill effects of global warming have been come into consideration. The
contamination of the river waters can be felt due to the invasion of the sea waters (Revesz et al.,
2014). These are the very reasons as to why the crops are being destroyed. In this scenario, it will
be a huge factor for the environment specialists to deal with this situation in the strictest ways.
Due to the contamination in the water, it is quite probable that the quality of drinking
water might drop down immensely (Leiserowitz et al., 2015). This fact of environmental change
and global warming can also cause the economic distress in the various ways as well. If the low-
lying areas get flooded due to the rise of sea levels, it might result in the disruption of small
businesses (Haddeland et al., 2014). Therefore, these factors should be dealt with utter care. So,
it is very much apparent that the climate change has hampered the social and economic
developments in the world in huge levels. Some potential military conflicts can also be seen due

to the possession of water among the developing countries. Conclusively, the effects of global
warming have been very much problematic for the society and environment at a larger level
(Leiserowitz et al., 2015).
In the concluding section, it can be said that the global warming has been seen from the
negative perspectives at all levels. All the probable negative impacts of global warming have
been discussed in this essay. The environmental degradation will be caused due to the global
warming. The scientists are very much concerned over the fact how they can cope up with these
factors in the coming future. If this issue goes on in the future, people will suffer these impacts at
a larger level. The entire geographical map can be changed indeed. The economic disruptions
caused by this can be caused by global warming on a regular basis. This is how the world will
suffer the consequences of the global warming if no immediate action is being taken.
