INTRODUCTION
Global warming is a phenomenon that is caused due to increased pollution and release of
green house gases in the environment. It is because the global warming the temperature of the
planet is rising. There are many reason that leads to global warming and all the reason are due to
activities oh human civilisation. Continuous use of the fossil fuels leads to the carbon emission
and release of the gases like carbon dioxide, nitrous dioxide etc. These gases are the major
contributor to the global warming (Masson-Delmotte, and et.al. , 2018) . Global warming in turn
is causing the climate of the earth to change. In order to understand the affect of the global
warming on the planet it is clinical to understand the basics of environment and normal planetary
conditions.
MAIN BODY
Argument for and against of Global warming
Climate and weather are are generally confused with each other. But there is a huge
difference between climate and weather. Weather is the natural phenomenon that changes with
different seasons, which itself changes with the position of the earth on its revolution around the
sun. Weathers of every region is seen on the monthly basis and can be predicted. On the other
hand the concept of climate is an observation of a geology that states temperature and
precipitation in a specific area over long period of time. Hence the difference is that weather
changes but the climate should remain constant for every given geographic area as it was already
defined by an average data through the analysis of several years. This is where the global
warming causes the concern as it is due to the global warming that the climate is changing.
Many people around the world fail to realise the the climate is never supposed to change the term
climate change itself is a dangerous phenomenon(Harvey, L.D., 2018).
Earth orbiting satellites have clearly and very closely observed the change in the average
temperature of specific regions that states that climate is now changing faster than ever. Scientist
all around the world have been stating out in open that the global warming is causing the glaciers
to melt and sea levels to rise but none of it seems to make a difference on the functionality of the
world as there are no substantial differences have been made. There are many evidences of the
global warming existing in the world these are a significant disturbance in the weather activity of
the planet (Nordhaus, W., 2018). Apart from the climate the weather itself that is an yearly

phenomenon is disturbed due changes will continue through this century and beyond the global
temperature rise that has been caused. Some of the studies from the world known scientist
suggest that in a period of just two centuries the temperature of the surface of the earth in a
global average has rose up to 1.18 degree Celsius. As it is after this time the age of
industrialisation started there have been a heavy emission of the carbon dioxide into the
atmosphere that ultimately works as a green house gas. Green house effect is the formation of
shield in the earth's atmosphere that by the green houses gases that are majorly carbon dioxide,
water vapours, nitrous dioxide and methane. The extra production of all these gases is majorly
due to the human activities like burning of fossil fuels, increased population and further
increased in the production of poultry farms and food production and other such activity essential
for the human race. All these activities adds to the amount of green house gases that in turn
increases the heat getting trapped and resulting into the global warming.
Having understood what is global warming and what are the key factors causing this
dangerous phenomenon, it is absolutely necessary to understand the effect of global warming
with the ground reality of the threats and dangers associated with it. Due to the global warming
several changes are taking place in the other wise stagnant physical world these changes and its
effect on the biodiversity is the key reason for the study of this phenomenon. Some of the most
threatening effect of global warming are;- rise in the temperature of seas, melting of glaciers.
Shrinking of ice sheets glacial retreats, rise in the sea level, ocean acidification and list continues.
It is due to these changes in the physical world that the effective working of water cycle is
affected very badly and further it will result in to continuity of rising temperature, frost free
seasons will continue, change in the precipitation; this also means that the amount of the rainfall
will not be the same as that of the natural precipitation , sometimes it is less and sometimes it can
be more, there are more chances of forest fires, more droughts and heat waves in the humid
regions, strength of the hurricanes will increase , one of the studies suggest that the sea level will
increase from 1 to 8 feet by 2100. These are all the physical changes that the surface of the planet
will be going through due to the global warming (Choi, D., Gao, Z. and Jiang, W., 2020). There
is much larger effect when the entire ecology is taken into consideration. The physical changes
still do not bother majority of the people as there is no direct effect that is felt. Ecology consist of
both the biodiversity and the non-living element of the planet as well. There are multiple factors
that affect the animals and insect that play a huge role in the effective working of the

biodiversity. The disturbance due to global warming is felt by the living creatures both on land
and in seas as well. Due to the global warming the animal species that migrate throughout the
year with different seasons are changing their migration routes and are shifting towards the
northern pole due to an existence of temperature these creatures are used to (Abas and et.al.
2018). Global warming is an affect caused by the disturbance in the atmospheric gases ratios.
This also leads to the acidification of the rain as the gases that accumulated in the atmosphere are
brought down by the rain and ultimately leading to the acidification of the seas . This
acidification of the seas and additional effect of the rise in temperature, the ocean life is heavily
disturbed. The corals that exist in the shallow sea because of the availably of the optimum
sunlight and optimum temperature have been heavily affected due the increase in pH value and
temperature. This has caused the bleaching of the corals. About 25% of the ocean fishes are
depended upon the corals. The corals have en ecosystem of their own that helps provide the
food resources that attracts the small fishes that in turn attracted larger fishes and ultimately the
predator fishes of the ocean. The food chain itself starts from the algae and corals and their
bleaching is causing the the disrupt in the entire food chain. There are an approximate of 7000
species of fishes that are dependent upon the corals for the life supporting necessities of
temperature and sunlight that ultimately maintains the coral reefs biodiversity. Another such
example of species that play a crucial role in the survival of land biodiversity is the bees(.Xu,
and et.al. 2018). Bees all around the world are responsible for the pollination of flowers that
provide other The bees are known for not just providing the honey and royal jelly but mainly for
the contribution in pollination of two third of all the plants in the world that ultimately produces
90% of the world's total food production. Global warming is causing the bees to shift their
pattern as the sources of water is affected and the heat waves that are a direct result of global
warming is causing the death of the death of the bees in huge number. All these effects of global
warming are fatal for the effective working and sustainability of the biodiversity of the planet.
Global warming has some of the very short term benefits and effects. As the surface
temperature of the planet rises and the weather pattern is disturbed there are some of the positive
effects that are currently being enjoyed by the population all around the world whether directly
or indirectly. These effects are due the rise in temperature there is a reduction in the oncomings
of cold waves in the northern area and higher altitudes location, The cold waves results into the
death of many people who could have afforded the means for a appropriate living conditions.

Due to the decrease in the cold waves the environment such cold places remains neutral and no
adverse effect can be noticed in a short while. Another short term benefit of global warming is
the availability of the ship transport due to the seasonal melting of the Arctic ice, due to global
warming the arctic ice in the melted state for a longer duration. This could be used for the sea
transport and in fact is already being used. Global warming has may be seen as a positive side in
yet another effect that is a benefit that farmers can make use of the increase in temperature
causes the fall season to continue for a longer duration due to the delay in arrival of winter
season(An, R., Ji, M. and Zhang, S., 2018). Due to this the temperature and humidity remains
optimum for the growing the crops in the northern hemisphere. Unfortunately this is just a small
side of a very large dark picture of global warming and under no circumstances the causes of
global warming can be continued. Increasing human population, deforestation, use of fossil fuels
to power the planet, continuous mining releasing the methane into the atmosphere. All these are
the actions of the human civilisation that directly add to the increasing rate of global warming.
Since the detection of the phenomenon and after coining the term global warming and climate
the world has only resulted into increasing effects of global warming. There is no permanent
naturally occurring solution of the problem caused by the human activities and appropriate
changes must be made for to stop the world threatening phenomenon.
Global warming has been a major concerns for all the developed countries since past 40
years. Although the changes in the climate were ignored for most of the times for a long time and
no effective measures were taken for several years. Now the developed and developing countries
are all together taking part in schemes and environmental planning. This includes a scrutiny at
the usage if pollution causing factors such as the industries, means of transport etc. The countries
must progressively indulge be indulged in the research and development of the resources that
could successfully replace the existing sources of power that are fossil fuels (Koutroulis, A.G.,
2019). The use of coal in the industry and households is also a major contributor and therefore
the governments of each country must make sure that there is least usage of the power source
that adds the green house gases in the environment. Paris accords is the result of the growing
concerns that lead to the adoption of the policy in 2016 by 175 parties has lead to the adoption of
environmental policies that promote the us of electrical appliances along with the prohibition of
deforestation as the mere existence of trees reduce the carbon from the environment.

CONCLUSION
It has been concluded from the above report that all the countries around globe introspect
into the use of the power sources that are being used by the majority of its population. The effect
of global warming are not yet irreversible and with enough efforts by the people on the
individual and organisational level can still make a difference towards the healthy being of the
blue planet.
