Evaluating Global Warming
Global warming is a menace that has to be tackled by everyone from society. Everyone
has a responsibility to play in averting the disasters that come with global warming which is part
of a larger climate change. The changes have affected life and threaten our very existence. There
are some people who may think that it is a hoax when it is not. There is credible scientific
evidence and knowledge to suppor6t the notion that global warming threatens our existence on
the planet (Budig, Heckmann, Hudert, Ng, & Qi, 2019, October). Hence, we have to be proactive
and spearhead the necessary changes. Personally, I think I will be affected greatly with the
changes in the global climatic conditions. The effects of global warming will affect people based
on where they live on the planet.
Global warming leads to the melting of polar ice caps and increases the volume of water
in the seas. The concern for this effect is rising sea levels that can greatly affect populations on
coastlines (Hughes, et.al, 2017). I leave near the coastline in Florida and I think cases of flooding
would affect me. Cases of tsunamis and rising sea level would impact my life negatively. Hence,
I have to contribute proactively to the environment. I would first take steps in educating people
on the need to conserve the environment to maintain the naturally existing balance. I will also
proactively participate in responsible activities such as reducing the emission of
chlorofluorocarbons to the environment. Long term solutions to global warming are the
reduction of the carbon footprint and the CFCs to the environment. Green energy can also save
the environment from global warming. In conclusion, I can positively contribute to
environmental conservation by living responsibly. Reducing damping and my carbon footprints
are instrumental to the wellbeing of the planet just like everyone else.
