interpretivisim and positivism among which interpretivisim philosophy focuses toward
interpreting the data based on qualitative mean and on other side positivism philosophy
focuses toward applying the scientific method depends over quantitative fact. For
performing this investigation interpretivisim philosophy will be used as it suitable for
qualitative information.
Research approach:- The research approach are basically of two type such as inductive
and deductive approach (Taylor, Bogdan and DeVault, 2015). Among these deductive
approach uses existing theory for comparing it with hypothesis for investigation. On
other side inductive approach believes in formation of new theories supporting it with
observations and test. For performing this investigation inductive approach will be used
as this investigation is based on qualitative mean.
Data collection method:- There are mainly two sources that are used to collect data i.e.
primary and secondary method. In this primary method is used to collect fresh
information which is not yet been used or investigated by any other person previously
(Bresler and Stake, 2017). It is basically collected using questionnaire, survey, focused
group, interview etc. On other side secondary method is used to gather information from
the sources where information is already published by some another person from sources
like books, journals, articles etc. In this investigation both method will be used in which
primary information is collected using questionnaire and secondary data will be gathered
with the help of questionnaire.
Type of investigation:- There are basically two type of investigation such as qualitative
and quantitative. In which qualitative investigation is one where information is gather in
detailed and theoretical manner by explaining the facts with the help of theories and other
related concepts (Ledford, and Gast, 2018). But in quantitative investigation information
is presented with the numerical facts regarding the accuracy of occurrence of particular
event so that proper justification can be presented in more authenticated manner. For
performing this research qualitative type of investigation will be used as it provide a
theoretical framework to represent information in more detailed manner.

that they represent the population so that information can be gathered on behalf of whole
population (Quinlan and et. al., 2019). There are two method of sampling such as
probabilistic and non-probabilistic among them in probabilistic approach researcher are
free in term of selecting people as their respondents and also have flexibility in term of
presenting the view point of people in their own way. But in non-probabilistic approach
the respondents are selected without any sort of bias behaviour from the researcher side.
Fro performing this investigation 50 respondents are selected in term of non-probabilistic
approach using random sampling method.
4.2 Consider cost, access and ethical issues
While performing this investigation researcher is also required to consider few areas of
investigation which support in getting most positive outcome out of efforts. For this researcher
must focuses toward keeping some fund secure at their side as there are several actions that may
required to perform by researcher at any part of investigation. On the other side access regarding
some authenticated sources must also be kept researched by the researcher so that it can access

integrated with an aim to reduce cross border barriers so that international trade can be
performed in effective manner. It plays a crucial role in promoting the business practices and
providing an option to several organisation to expand their business by approaching larger

several benefit to a business that support it in achieving a competitive edge at market place such
as integration of cultural practices, access to technological advancement, high skilled employees,
raw material at low cost, broader customer base. But despite of this, there are certain factors that
are present in global market which negatively influence the performance of a company that
includes competition, changes in customers demand, new culture, lack of employees
participation, technological changes etc.

but this information also support me in future perspective. While performing this investigation I
came to know Globalisation is a process through which economies of the two country get
integrated with an aim to reduce cross border barriers so that international trade can be
performed in effective manner. It plays a crucial role in promoting the business practices and
providing an option to several organisation to expand their business by approaching larger
number of customers that resides over several geographical location. Globalisation provide
several benefit to a business that support it in achieving a competitive edge at market place such
as integration of cultural practices, access to technological advancement, high skilled employees,
raw material at low cost, broader customer base. But despite of this, there are certain factors that
are present in global market which negatively influence the performance of a company that
includes competition, changes in customers demand, new culture, lack of employees
participation, technological changes etc.

7.3 Alternative research methodologies
For performing this investigation effectively questionnaire is used to gather information
as per the objective of research as it help in gathering information in limited time period without
incurring much cost. But despite of this in future when I again get a chance to perform such type
of investigation then I will use interview as an alternative method for performing investigation so
that their would be a face to face interaction which help in collecting information in more
effective manner.
7.4 Consider lessons learnt in view of the outcomes
This investigation supported me in enhancing my knowledge regarding the globalisation
and its influence over the competition present in market. While performing this investigation I go
through several information which help me in enhancing my researcher skills and capabilities.
But despite of this, I also go through several challenges such as time given for performing this
investigation was limited which is major issue but for this dealing with this I have used
questionnaire which support in gathering larger amount of data at very limited time period. In
addition to this, another major issue I found which investigation is that respondents was not
ready to provide answers and some of them are providing wrong information as they are not
interested. But to deal with this I have explained about the aim behind conducting this
investigation and manner in which this information is used which supported me in gathering
information which I needed. Despite of all these issues I have tried my best to perform
investigation in authenticated and reliable manner so that proper information can be presented in
front of readers that do not mislead them.
Recommendations
From the above conducted investigation it has been identified that globalisation brings up
both positive as well as negative impact over the competition which is faced by the Barclay's
bank which have a great influence over the performance. But in order to achieve competitive
edge over the global market following recommendations are provided to Barclay's bank:
It must perform proper evaluation regarding the actions taken by competitors and manner
in which they offer services to customers. This will support Barclay's bank in formulating
effective strategy so that it would remain prepared for the actions to be taken while
dealing with competition at global level.

Barclay's bank must recruit the high skilled employees from the country in which they
are offering services so that it become easier from the bank to understand the customer
behaviour and demand they are having to offer services accordingly. This will help in
making a positive image in front of customers so that they choose Barclays over other
bank operating in a particular region.
These are the actions that Barclay's can perform in order to achieve competitive edge at
global market.
