Background
Globalisation is referred as a process of dispersion of service and industrial activities
between the companies, nations, people etc. It can be defined as a process by which the firms,
enterprises, people, interact with each other across the world (Stearns, 2016). In the process of
globalisation culture, economy, and ethics has played an important role. It has resulted in the
positive implication on the various businesses functions which has resulted in the growth and
advancement of a businesses.
Aim
To assess the positive ethical, economical and cultural implications of globalisation
on business -A study on Marks and Spencer.

Research Methodology
Research type
Research type can be divided in to two main categories such as quantitative and
qualitative research. Quantitative research is type of a research which involves in the collection
of quantifiable data and performing computational, statistical and mathematical techniques over
the gathered data. Qualitative is research is a research which deals with collection of non-
quantifiable data but are more exploitative which is used to cover the opinions, thoughts and
trends. In this research, researcher will use qualitative research as it will help in providing the
deep understanding of the research topic.
Data collection
It is the most important part of research, it involves gather of valid data in order to
analyse and draw a conclusion for the project. It is important for a researcher to collect valid and
accurate data in order to increase the validity of a research (Caillaud, Rose and Goepp, 2016).
Data collection methods can be divided in two categories which are primary and secondary data
collection methods. In this research, researcher will use primary data collection methods by
framing a questionnaire. This will help a researcher to gather a valid data for the research which
will increase the validity of a research.
Sampling
It is the process of choosing a part of a population from the large set which acts as
representatives of a research. It is also divided in two parts probability and non-probability
sampling. Researcher will choose random sampling technique by choosing a sample size of 10
functional managers M&S.
Data analysis
It is the process of applying statistical tools and techniques, it can be divided into 2
categories such as statistical and thematic analysis (Francis and et.al., 2017). Within this research
researcher will use thematic analysis it will help researcher in making proper analysis of data
gathered.

Risks and limitations
A risk which is attached to the research is breach of security of data and lack of privacy.
One of the major research limitation of research is that it a primary research so respondents have
filled the questionnaire based upon their perception.

Literature Review
Theme 1:Ethical,cultural and environmental implication on globalisation
According to Kolk,, (2016) globalization has a greater impact on the ethical, cultural and
environment. As globalization is bringing many changes in the economy of the country. It has
brought many innovations in the country that will lead to more growth in the future. One of the
main issue that is related to globalization is that after it the job pattern is changed drastically as
jobs are getting on high prices. Another ethical issue that is being arise is regarding the brain
drain that means people are leaving their home country for finding better opportunities in the
other countries.
As per the view Joyce and Paquin, (2016) culture is also having an impact after the
globalization as different people are coming from the different culture that will create conflict in
the organization. This cultural implication is the biggest implication as if employees are not
interacting to each other that will create conflict between them and influence the working
environment of the organization.
Theme 2: Positive implication of globalization on various business function
Rawhouser, Cummings and Newbert, (2019) stated that globalization is having positive
impact on operational business unit as it will expand the working area that will lead to more
growth in the future. Due to this operational activity will increase that will lead to increase in the
output of the company. Under Human resource business function it brings much software that
will made smooth working such as Human Resource Information system, Payroll software etc.
that facilitate easy working in the organization. In accounting many changes done after
globalization generally accepted accounting principles are followed in the organization that will
make work easier. International Financial Reporting Standard is being used to made accounting
process simpler and easier.

Theme 3: Role of global economy in influencing business function
According to the Sassen, (2018) as global economy is tended to bring new changes in the
business operations as it facilitate easy operations in the organization. Innovation will lead to
bring growth in the business functions as all the work is being done by technology that will help
in saving the time and provide quality product to the customer. It will bring transparency in work
and reduce error that will bring efficient work in the businesses. As in accounting also
international standards is being used to facilitate better work for future course of action.
