Global Child Presentation: Globalisation, Child Labour, and Policies

This presentation, prepared for a BA (Hons) TOP UP degree in Children & Young People, critically examines the impact of globalisation on child labour. It begins by defining key concepts like globalisation and child labour from diverse perspectives. The presentation explores constructions of childhood and their impact on related policies and practices, both internationally and nationally. It outlines internationally and nationally recognized Children's Rights and provides examples of policies and practices across various globalized economies, including the global north and south. The presentation uses relevant reading and research to inform its arguments and concludes with a critical analysis of the presented information. The presentation also covers the rights of children, the policies and practices across globalized economies, and the role of globalisation in the prevalence of child labour. The work also examines the impacts of child labour on children's mental, physical and social development. This presentation aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the effects of globalization on child labour, its causes, and possible solutions.
