people and companies globally. With rise in globalisation, there is interaction of international
ideas, trade and culture (Alvarez-Jimenez and et. al., 2014). This consists of product, service,
technology, data and resources. There are various factors such as cultural, ethical, political,
economic which is impacted by globalisation. Also the functions of organisation needs to be
changed accordingly for survival and growth of firm. The given assignment is based on ALDI
which was founded in 1946 at Germany. This deals in variety of product such as food,
household, beverage, sanitary. It is retail organisation having 10,000 stores in 20 countries. This
report covers aim, objectives and scope of organisation along with project management plan. In
order to carry out research, time frame work is needed and various tools and techniques are used
for data collection.

change and plan accordingly. As globalisation impact various factors such as cultural, ethical,
political and economic which leads to change in business operation and its functions. ALDI
needs to study all these factors for making effective decision in organisation so that goals and
objectives can be achieved. The globalisation helps in creating effective relationship with other
countries globally and knowing their rules and regulation for running business and its operation
in better manner. The factors which has impacted ALDI need to be analysed properly for better
outcome. These factors can also functions of organisation such as HR, operations, marketing and
accounting. As various changes took place with globalisation so accordingly functions need to
work for betterment of firm.

P2 Project Management Plan covering various aspects
Project Management Plan (PMP)
It is defined as approved and structure documents that determine way of executing
controlling and monitoring project (Evans, 2014). This is also called detailed or summary
documents that includes management plan, subsidiary and other planning data. It is practice of
planning, initiating, controlling, executing and closing work of individual or team for
achievement of particular goals and meeting success criteria. There are five stages of PMP such
as initiation/conception, planning, execution, monitoring/performing and project close. The

advantage of using project management is that it assist in managing projects very effectively and
efficiently and enabling researcher to solve issues and problems quickly. As it take both cost and
time for management of plan and following good practices which leads in improving and
achieving desired outcome. The use of PMP is important to ALDI as it helps in reduction of risk
of over budgets. It also provide helps in maintaining quality, managing and controlling of
activities. This PMP cover following aspects which are given below:
Cost- While managing project successfully, cost should be considered at first level. It is
life blood of any organisation for running business in effective manner (Farman, 2013). ALDI
need to make proper budgeting in order to evaluate cost incurred for project or various
operations or activities. Here, cost required for project from organisation point of view is 60,000
pounds. Similarly, from researcher point of view, it can be 70,000 pounds for carrying out
project.
Scope- When any company want to operate their business at global level or
manufacturing in new market or new product then they should analyse those market in effective
manner. ALD is operating business at global level so it need to analyse scenario of that market
and accordingly make plan for it. For better understanding of scope, ALDI can analyse different
factors such as political, ethical, economic and cultural for managing project. Here, researcher
can analyse scope by improving and enhancing their skills, knowledge and experience with help
of various tools and techniques for managing and carrying out plan.
Time- It is considered as measurable time when project has started and completed. If
organisation get more time for managing project, then they can achieve goals and objectives
effectively. Here, time required by ALDI is approximately 6 to 7 months and from researcher
point of view is 5 to 6 months.
Quality- This can create positive and negative impact to ALDI. If it uses high quality
products then it can increase profits and sales. Similarly, in case of using low quality by firm
then value, goodwill and profits declines. For managing quality of research, ALDI can use
effective tools and techniques.
Communication- It is the process of sharing information, data and opinion from one
person to another with use of communication channels (Gikas and Grant, 2013). In order to run
business by ALDI at global level effective communication channels should be used which can
be in written form, oral, newspaper and other media form. Organisation can use radio, television
efficiently and enabling researcher to solve issues and problems quickly. As it take both cost and
time for management of plan and following good practices which leads in improving and

and other for providing information to consumers. Similarly, from researcher point of view, they
can use survey, online, questionnaire for collection of data and information.
Risk- There are different types of risk which can be faced by ALDI while managing their
project such as change in need and demand of customers, financial risk, ineffective channel of
communication. Similarly, researcher can face risk in terms of limited time, lack of funds, lack
of information for data collection.
Resources- There are various resources required by ALDI for running their business at
global level which includes land, manpower, funds, stakeholders, machinery and others. This
leads in creating positive affect on organisation's cultural, economical and ethics functions. From
researcher point of view, resources can be related with finance, adequate information and others.
P3 Time frame work and stages of project completion
Time frame work is the time required for starting and completing of project within given
time period. In ALDI, manager should carry both large and complex project for completing in
given time period. There are two ways through which time frame work can be measured which
are given below:
Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
It is considered as key project deliverable which helps in organising work of team into
manageable sections (Kaplan, 2012). This is hierarchical decomposition of whole scope of task
which is carried out by project team for accomplishment of goals and objectives. The elements of
WBS are data, product, service or any combination. This helps in providing essential framework
for estimating cost and controlling along with guidance of control and development schedule.
This is used by ALDI for completion of project within given time period. The resources should
be utilised effectively and efficiently. Activities need to be conducted on the basis of plan which
aid in controlling of expenses in terms of budget.

Gantt Chart
It is defined as bar chart which illustrates project schedule. This concept was developed
by Henry in year 1910- 1915. It helps in showing dependency relationship among current and
schedule activities. This chart is represented with help of both vertical and horizontal axis where
task need to be performed and time intervals (Larivière and et. al., 2013.). It illustrate initial and
finish dates of various elements and summary of project. The manager of ALDI should use Gantt
chart for representation of activities in graphical form. This helps in proper controlling,
monitoring and tracking work properly. The step required for identification of problem along
with conclusions are given below by researcher:
Identifying problems
Reviewing literature
Identification of main issues
defining and stating concept of study
Respondent perception through sample that helps in conduct of research project
Plan development
Collection of data and information

TASK 2
P4 Research Methods for carrying out research
Research
Research is defined as procedure for problem identification and providing solution
through formulation of hypothesis (Malthouse And et. al., 2013). There are different methods
used for evaluating, collecting and organising data and information in best manner. It is very
important for research to do proper research for collection of data. The types of research methods
which can be used by ALDI are as follows:
Qualitative Method- It is evaluation of perception, individual view and opinion on
particular topic is collected for providing appropriate and proper conclusions. Here, researcher
ask open and direct questions for communication from respondent.
Quantitative Method- This is method which helps in providing statistical and
mathematical values. This includes polls, surveys, questionnaire which can provide help to
researcher for analysis and execution of objectives and goal of project.
Methods of Data Collection
There are two methods of data collection which are given below:
Primary Data Collection- The data and information are collected for first time by
researcher that includes questionnaire, survey, interview and other is called primary collection.
This can help ALDI to collect all required information accurately (Mao, 2014).
Secondary Data Collection- The information and data are gathered by already existing
source such as internet, newspaper, magazine is called secondary collection. As this method fails
sometime in providing reliable and accurate data and information.
Sampling
It is process that is used for determining number of observations from larger population.
There are large number of population from where sample is taken for data collection. There are
different types of sampling such as:
Probability- When individuals are known from selected from population as sample is
called probability. It is conclusive in nature.
Non-Probability- When individuals are not known from selected population as sample is
called non probability sampling. It is exploratory in nature.
