INTRODUCTION
Globalisation is the process of transferring of products, services, technology, capital,
human resources from one nation to another so as to develop the economic condition. In order to
manage business successful globalisation is the best aspect which every organisation must take
into consideration to achieve competitive advantage at global level. The company which is being
taken into consideration is John Lewis which is one of the UK based company specialised in
product like clothing, watches, gift-wares, furniture’s etc. Additionally, it was founded in 1864
by John Spedan Lewis (Wells, 2014). This assignment explains about the aims, objectives of
project as well as work break down structure and Gantt chart is also being done in this file.
Moreover, data analysis has also being done using questionnaire method as well as
recommendation is also being given at the end of this file.
Positive impact of Globalisation to the businesses in the UK.
1. Economic Impact: Overall development of John Lewis company is termed to be one of
the positive impacts of globalisation. As globalisation is the process of transferring
capital, technology, products, services etc. from developed nation to underdeveloped
nation. Thus, it can be said that globalisation plays an essential role in the overall
economic development to the business in UK.

business throughout the United Kingdom. Additionally, it is engaged in different types of
products and services like clothing, watches, gift-wares, furniture etc. It is also engaged in
rendering better quality services and products at a global level taking into consideration
customers’ needs and preferences because of which it is termed to be one of the successful
organisations at global level. Moreover, this research is being conducted by this company on a
theme that is to analyse the positive economic, cultural, and ethical impacts of globalisation on
different business functions within an organisation (Wahab, Faruq and Bank, 2012). Thus, the
company is planning to globalise its business so in order to operate its business at international
level company will require support from different functional department which are mentioned
below:
Operations: It is the department which is concerned with converting the raw materials
into finished products and services as efficiently as possible so as to result in
accomplishing maximum profit of an organisation. Without the help of this department
company cannot achieve a successful growth at global level.
Marketing: It is the department in John Lewis company which helps in marketing the
product and services of the company to its final customers. Without the help of this
department company cannot increase its sales revenue. As its the marketing manager who
possess knowledge about how the customer can be get influenced towards there services.
HR: It is the department of John Lewis which perform the major duty is to recruit and
shortlist the best candidate. So successful achievement at global level lies upon HR
department of an organisation
Accounting: As its the account department who must maintain and keep all the books of
account into a record. So, this department of John Lewis company plays an essential role
as this department will maintain all the record of expenses incurred while operating at

company must take into consideration as without sufficient
amount of cost company cannot market its product to at
global level (Spender,2014). So as per company point of
view the cost required to accomplish the project is 5500000
pounds, whereas a researcher aspect near about 500000
pounds needs to be incurred while carrying appropriate
research.
Scope Scope of the John Lewis company terms to be wider as it
renders better quality products and services at a global level
as per the preferences of customers (Smith, Gonin and
Besharov, 2013). Whereas scope of researcher is also term

research by using various tools and techniques which will
