RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
In this research the data will be collected to provide authentic and meaningful
information regarding the research. It is a systematic process of gathering information regarding
the topic of the research to have authentic and valid information to provide the conclusion on the
basis of the data collected.
Research philosophies : It is a belief in which the phenomenon about the data should be
gathered, analysed and used. Also, It helps in the process of research by choosing the appropriate
philosophy. There are different research philosophies which consist of Epistemology,
Positivism, Realism and interpretivism. Epistemology is related to the acceptable knowledge
regarding the research paper. This philosophy is based on nature of knowledge and justification.
Positivism is related to the positive knowledge is based on natural phenomenon and their
properties and relations. Realism philosophy is based on the idea of independence of reality
from the human mind. In this the research is conducted on the basis of assumptions of a scientific
approach to the development of knowledge (Blohm and et. al., 2016). Whereas, Interpretivism is
a form of qualitative methodology. It assists in gathering the in depth information regarding the
research. This research philosophy help to draw conclusion from the data gathered. In the present
research, the research will choose the Interpretivism philosophy for conducting the research to
determine the impact of Political, economic, social, and cultural impact of globalisation.
Research approach : It is a plan and procedure that includes steps of broad assumptions
for detailed method of data collection, analysis and interpretation. The research approach is
based on research problem which is being addressed (Research Approach, 2018). It includes
deductive and inductive research. Deductive approach is related to developing a hypothesis
which is based on existing theory on the basis of which research strategy is designed to test the
hypothesis. The inductive approach is concerned with generation of new theory which is
emerging from data (Larson and Chang, 2016). In this present research, the research will conduct
the research through inductive approach in order to identify the impact of Political, social,
economic and cultural of globalisation on different functions performed by Tesco Plc effectively
and efficiently. As this approach will help in gathering in depth information regarding the

logical manner. The research design help in answering to research problems effectively. There
are four kinds of research design which can be used by researcher for conducting the research
effectively which consist of descriptive, Correlational, quasi – experimental and experimental
(Boyle, 2017). Descriptive research design is a scientific method which describe situations and
does not involve predictions regarding the study. The descriptive research design consist of
surveys, observations etc. Correlational research is a type of non experimental research in which
the researcher will measure variables and understand and assess the statistical relation ship
between them and there is no influence from any other variable (Webb, 2017). In this present
research, the researcher will use descriptive research design for identifying the impact of
political, social, economic and cultural impact of globalisation of different functions of Tesco
Plc.
Data collection : It is process of gathering data through different sources in order to
collect the authentic data for conducting the research effectively. There are two methods of data
collection which includes primary and secondary. Primary data collection is used to gather the
information first hand through use of survey. Whereas secondary data is collection through the
published sources and the information gathered through these sources is already used by other
researchers. In this present research, the research will use both primary and secondary sources
for collecting information (Kumar and Yakhlef, 2016). The research will use questionnaire for
gathering information through primary sources. And the researcher will use books and journals
and Internet sources for gathering the information through secondary source.
Data Analysis : It is process of inspecting, cleaning and transforming the data to identify
the useful information which will helps in conducting the research. There are two techniques
which can be used for data analysis which consist of Qualitative and quantitative analysis. The
qualitative techniques is used to analysis the data through in depth analysis of information with
the use of survey and help of questionnaire (Kasuma and et.al., 2017). Quantitative analysis
involves critical analysis of interpretation of figures and numbers and can use SPSS for this. In
the present research, the researcher will use qualitative analysis through use of questionnaire.
Sampling : It is a process which is used in statistical analysis in which a predetermined
number of observations are taken from a larger population. It consists of probabilistic and Non-
probabilistic (Pinto and Patanakul, 2017). In this present research, the researcher will use sample
of 30 respondents as managers of Tesco Plc working in different functional department.
6
Document Page
Ethics : The researcher while conducting the research must gather the information by
considering the ethics to get eh valid and authentic information from respondents without any
harm and influence to them (Nicholas and Steyn, 2017). In this research, the researcher will
gather the prior informed consent of respondents to disclose the information (Ethical
Considerations, 2019).
