As per view point of Ella Nilakanthi Ford (2018), Globalisation is related to how
countries and people are becoming interconnected as forces such as media, technology,
transportation and the global finance which make it more simpler for services, people and
products to cross boundaries and borders. It is helpful in providing the better opportunities for an
economic development in order to improve quality life of several people. Entry in new economy
is always beneficial for every business enterprise if company make right decisions relating to
various aspects like mode of entry, distribution channel etc. Lycamobile has presence in 22
countries and this global presence helped them in reducing their dependency on domestic market.
Globalisation allowed them to hire variety on talent from different nations; it is providing them
competitive advantage over rivals who are only operating in domestic market. However, beside
these benefits, few disadvantages are also attached with globalisation. Recently they are facing
charges of money laundering as two of its companies are involved in these type of cases. It is
negatively affecting their image across the global. Wrongdoing of one division reduces trust on
international business of whole company, this issue could have been avoided if an organisation is
not present in so many countries as managing limited operations is easier compared to manage a
business which is present in more than 20 nations.
Globalisation has its merits and demerits but overall it has affected Lycamobile in
positive way. It provided them with huge opportunity, in terms of market, and in the era of
integrated economy, Lycamobile had no other options beside expansion of business in various
nations.
