founded in 1935 at England. Here will be discussing about project management along with
aims and objectives of Jaguar. Work breakdown structure and Gantt chart is presented to
provide time-frames and stages for completion. Discussion is about research and its tools and
value of undertaking for meeting stated objectives for learning and performance.

Type of Research
Primary and
Secondary
Primary- It is data collection method specifically for business.
It is obtained with help of observing or communicating with
competitors or customers. Here, data are collected for first time
through survey, focus groups, interview, direct observation.
Elements of primary research are population, instruments,
intervention, methods, results, implication. Example can be

randomised control trial, CCT, telephone.
Secondary- It involves summary, synthesis and collation of
existing research. Researcher draw data from published paper,
statistical database, government documents, historical records.
Its elements can review, parameters of studies, table, list of
studies, procedures. Example can be meta analysis, magazine,
books, opinion.
Qualitative- It is exploratory research used to gain
understanding of underlying motivations, reasons and opinions.
It helps in developing ideas or hypotheses for potential research.
This data collection methods use unstructured and semi
structured techniques (Lin and Chen, 2012). Some common
methods are group discussions, participation, observation and
individual interview. Here, sample size is small and respondents
are selected on basis of quota.
Quantitative- It is used for quantifying problem by generating
numerical data which can be transformed into usable statistics.
It identify attitudes, behaviours, opinions and other variables
and getting of result from large sample. This method is more
structured in nature as compared to qualitative. It includes
online survey, mobile survey, paper survey, face to face
interview, online polls, telephone interview, longitudinal
studies, website interceptors.
Work Breakdown Structure for the Project
Work breakdown structure (WBS) in system engineering and project management is
dividing into smaller components. It is key project that organizes team work into various
manageable sections in order to achieve objectives and create required deliverables. It
element may be data, product and service or combination thereof. It provides necessary
framework for control and cost estimating and guidance for schedule development. Jaguar
use WBS to divide task into smaller part and complete it within stipulated time (Nicholas and
Steyn, 2017). It provide roadmap everyone in team, resource requirements, realistic project
5

timescale and early warning of problems. WBS is decided and finalised by top management
and work packages related with cost, task and duration should not exceed 10 days. Thus, it
helps in achieving goal and objectives of organisations very effectively and efficiently.
Develop a Basic Gantt Chart
It is bar chart which illustrates project schedule and relationship between current
schedule status and activities. It is popular way for showing activities against time. This chart
assist in explaining each and every task or sequence in order to complete project in effective
manner. It assess in scheduling, managing and monitoring resources and task of a particular
project for given period of time (Morrison, 2013).
Research Methodology and Data Collection
Research methodology- It is techniques or specific procedures used for identifying,
selecting, processing and analysing information about a particular topic. In research paper,
methodology section allows to critically evaluate study overall reliability and validity. It
answer two questions that is data collected or generated and analysed. It is used for
investigation and gathering information for decision making.
Data collection- It is process for measuring and gathering information on variables of
interest in established systematic which enables answer stated questions, evaluate outcomes
and test hypothesis. It is documentation for particular information regarding specific area.
Explain the questionnaire
It is set of various questions in order to get information from different respondents.
Under this, researcher ask questions to target respondents and get answers. It can be open
ended and close ended questions for collecting response for respondent (Reiss and Rayner,
2012).
