INTRODUCTION
Research Background
It is the procedure that organisations and businesses develops global influences or start
operating on an international scale. Through this process goods, services and people freely move
across the world in a seamless as well as integrated manner so that is called globalization. It has
bought drastic changes in the economy and the business world. It offers both benefits and
challenges for the businesses and its functions such as human resource, marketing, operations,
accounting etc. Human resource functions is one of the most essential department for all the
companies in auto mobile industry either small, medium or large (Horak,2017).
Globalisation majorly affected to the human resource development as it is very important
to consider cultural difference, both in and out of the workplace. It is fact that cultural norms
within community influence the workforce and how workers view their jobs, especially in
relation to time spent with their family members as well as ideas about employment
expectations. In addition to this, ethical factors also influenced the businesses in positive manner
as the social corporate responsibilities can bring important advantages to the business (Stewart,
and Brown, 2019). so impact of globalisation is positive on the business's operation's and there
whole activity of business.
In this report, Jaguar will be chosen for assessment. It is a biggest luxury vehicle brand of
Jaguar Land Rover. it is also a British multinational manufacturer of car which was founded in
1935. Its headquarters are located in Whitley, Coventry, England. In 2013, Jaguar Cars has
merged with Land Rovers and form Jaguar Land Rover.
Thus, in this current study, scholar will use systematic methods and techniques to explore
the positive impact of globalisation on human resource functions in businesses of auto mobile
industry of Jaguar company. This present research will be based on Qualitative methods in which
scholar will collect the data through survey via questionnaire.

is also defined with the help of project management plan (Kerzner and Kerzner, 2017). In simple
words, it is the set of document which contains scope and objectives of the project.
Cost:
Cost is the total amount of money required to complete the research study. It Is very
important for the scholar to conduct the research in a strategic manner because if cost is not
properly allocated it will affect the entire part of the study especially outcomes of the research.
So researcher has decided to assign the cost to each and every part to complete the particular part
in designated way. In this research, scholar has completed the study in £8000.
Time:
Time is also an essential factor of the research, it is very necessary for the scholar to
complete the research in a given time. It is because if research is not completed on time it will
affect the outcomes of the study (Larson and Gray, 2017). Thus, scholar has decided to assign
time to each and every activity of the research. Thus, this current research has completed this
study in approximately 133 days.
Scope:
Scope is defines as the degree of the area or subject matter that something deals with or
to which it is relevant. In simple words, it is the range of the particular study. It is very important
to have the best part of the research. The scope of current research present in academic and
corporate sector. This study will be useful for the students who are learning as they will gain the
knowledge understand the impact of globalisation on business functions and they will also learn
the methods suitable for particular research (Laufer, 2016). On the other hand, it will also help
the owner, managers of Jaguar company to take corrective action by the outcomes of this study.
Resources:
Resources are the materials which are essentially required to conduct the research in a
designated way. Resources are necessitated part of the study as if proper availability of resources
are not their than it is not possible to complete the research. Researcher has systematically
assigned the required resources for the research (Neylon, 2017). To complete the research,
scholar has availed the following resources such as human resource and financial resource so that
research can buy stationery times, USB, laptop, transportation cost etc.
Quality:
Document Page
Quality is essentially required for completing the research in a logical manner and to
maintain the reliability and viability of the research. If quality is compromise than the entire
research is wastage of time and resources. Researcher has prepared the project management plan
so that quality of the research is never be compromised and for completing the research scholar
has used key performance indicator, benchmarking as an effective tool for maintaining the
quality (He, 2017). Additionally, investigator has also highly aware of the information taken for
secondary sources as all the sources are authentic and reliable.
Risk:
The uncertain factor is called as risk of the research. There are so many risk involved in
conducting the study, so scholar has prepared the project management plan to defined the risk
involved. Following are the risk, physical injury, theft of data, loss of data, ethical issues etc. So
in order to maintain the research viability and reliability, scholar has identified the risk involves
and take corrective actions to deal with them accordingly.
Communication:
Communication is very important for research because it is helps in communicate the
important information among all the stakeholders who are directly or indirectly connected to the

P.4 Research Methodology
Introduction
It is the process of carrying out the small scale research by applying qualitative and
quantitative research methods suitable for meeting the project aim and objectives of the research.
In simple words, it is the systematic and logical manner for conducting the research study
(Kumar, 2019). The main purpose of the research is to make decisions for business with the help
of methodology such as publication research, survey, interview and other research techniques. In
this current research, scholar has taken various research methodologies which are written below-
Research Methods
Research methods are essential part of the research methodology as it is very important to
decide the methods which are used to conduct the research in designated manner. These tools
used by researcher to conduct the research as it defines the base of the study. There are mainly
two types of the research methods which are qualitative and quantitative methods. The type of
research is fundamentally exploratory research is called as qualitative methods. This method is
used to gain the knowledge and understanding of underlying reasons, opinions and motivations
and it helps to drive the problems more deeply. Wherein, the type of research methods which are
used to identify the issues by transforming the data into utile statistics or way of generating
numeric data is called as quantitative research methods.
With the help of this method researcher can study large number of population.
Quantitative research methods are highly structured as compared to qualitative research methods
Document Page
(Bernard, 2017). Therefore, researcher has efficaciously explored the impact of globalisation on
human resource functions of the businesses within auto mobile industry with the use of
qualitative methods.
Research Type
It is a manner in which the researcher can solve its issues, problems with the help of
different scientific methods, techniques. With the use of different research types, researcher has
been able to generate proper understanding about the subject matter of the study. In completing
this research study, both the type of research has been used viz. Qualitative as well as
Quantitative. This has helped researcher in providing better interpretation about the research
topic which further assists other scholars and researchers in completing their own research
project.
Quantitative research type is related with study of numeric data, figures, numbers. With
the help of such study, researcher has been able to generate better analysis of data as gathered
pertaining to the subject matter of the study. Its main aim is to develop as well as employ the best
mathematical and statistical models, theories thereby analysing data with the help of excel &
hypotheses prepared.
On the other hand, Qualitative research is a process in which data is collected, analysed
and interpreted in subjective, descriptive manner. For collecting relevant and reliable information
about research topic, focus is made on gathering data from individual, focus groups with the help
of in depth interviews, surveys etc.
Thus, researcher has been using both the research types for conducting whole research
study in more effective and efficient manner keeping in mind core aspect behind undertaking
such research project.
Research Approach
The procedures and plan that includes all the steps of wide assumptions to detailed
methods for data collection, analysis and interpretation is called as research approach. The main
classification of research approaches are two which are data collection and data analysis.
However, research approaches are of two types which are inductive and deductive. Inductive
approaches are in which data is generalised from more specific to more general and collection of
data is utilised to search a phenomenon, determining the themes and create a conceptual
hypothesis. This research approach helps in studying small size of population and evaluate the
Document Page
issues more deeply. Wherein, deductive approaches are those where data is generalised from
general to specific and collection of data is utilised to measure the preposition which are related
to existing theory (Jackson, 2015).
This current research is mainly based on the application of inductive research approach as
it is best research techniques when study is based on qualitative methods. Therefore, with the
application of the inductive research approach, researcher has explored the positive impact of
globalisation on human resource functions of the businesses within auto mobile industry with the
use of qualitative methods.
In completing this research project, researcher has make use of mixed approaches i.e.
inductive as well as deductive one for generating of much better results. With deductive
approach of research, it has assisted researcher in formulating different set of hypotheses which
is required to be considered while undertaking the whole research project. Such hypotheses as
framed are in line with the research aims and objectives of the study which is tested for its
confirmation and rejection. Also, by using inductive research approach researcher has designed
research questions according to aims and objectives which has further helped researcher in
successful gathering of proper data.
Research Design
The type of research methodology that is used to conduct the study in a systematic and
scientific study is called as research design. With the help of this design, researcher is able to
present the data in a sophisticated manner. Descriptive and Experimental are two types of
research design. When scholar is interested in describing the issues or problems of the research is
called as descriptive research. It is based theory which is developed by collecting, analysing and
presenting the data collected and it also provides more deep knowledge of the research. Wherein,
the type of research design which is used to create relationship based on cause and effect is
called as experimental research design.
The outcomes of the research is more accurate and exact than compare to descriptive
research because it is free from personal interest or bias. Researcher has opted descriptive
research design because the research methods used are qualitative and it is the best suitable
research design to this study (Lewis, 2015). Therefore, scholar has efficaciously explored the
positive impact of globalisation on human resource functions of the businesses within
automobile industry with the use of qualitative methods.

Research Philosophy
A manner as per which the researcher undertakes the process of collecting required data
and information thereby initiating its analysis process and making it available for use to other
scholars and researchers as well. Research philosophy is considered as one of the most important
part of research methodology which defines way of completing the whole research study starting
from collection of data to its interpretation. It is of two types – Positivism and Interpretivism.
Researcher in such research project has made use of mixed philosophy as this research project is
having characteristics of both the Qualitative as well as Quantitative research type.
In case of positivism research philosophy, the whole research study is related with the
study of society at large making its core focus on scientific proofs pertaining to the subject
matter. Such philosophy is having its main emphasis on making use of different and proper
experiments, investigation, statistics and mathematical frameworks so as to identify the nature
and manner in which the whole society response. In case of Interpretivism research philosophy
type, researcher used to make better interpretation of all the elements of the research study
thereby integrating interest of human in becoming part of the research study. Researcher thus for
making research more reliable and useful has made use of mixed philosophy.
Sampling
Sampling is defined as a process of selecting a small portion of people from among very
large population size with the main objective of collecting sample size. By selecting small
portion, researcher can collect relevant information pertaining to the research subject matter as it
is impossible to collect data from each and every person. As a result of which, researcher has
made use of purposive sampling technique in obtaining more accurate data. Questionnaire has
been prepared by the researcher in accordance with the different themes formulated which is
used for collecting appropriate data from 30 respondents viz. Resource managers of Jaguar
company.
After selecting all the methods and techniques for completing the research, scholar have
to look for the sample and its size so that data is collected from right person or group of people.
Sampling is the process of diving the whole population into small sub set. It is quite essential for
investigator to select the sample size due to scarcity of time and resources. It is very time
consuming for researcher to study the whole population, so with the help of sampling scholar has
Document Page
assumed the outcomes of whole population. However, there are mainly two classification of
sampling which are probabilistic and non-probabilistic sampling technique. The technique that
stand equally in the selection of sample is called as probabilistic sampling. Wherein, the type of
sampling technique which do not stand equally in the selection of sample is called as non-
probabilistic sampling (Künnecke, TRACE Analytics GmbH, 2018). In this current research,
researcher has applied probabilistic sampling and selected 30 participants who are human
resource managers of Jaguar company. Human resource manager are the best sample for the
research as they are eligible to answer the question accurately.
Data Collection
After the selection of sample, researcher have to look over the data collection methods as
it seems to another important part of the study. It is the process or techniques that is used to
collect the information regarding the subject of the study. There are mainly two methods by
which data is gathers which are primary and secondary. The type of data which is never used
before and are based on present information is called as primary data and it is collected by the
scholar own efforts. For example, interview, survey, schedule observation etc. Wherein, the type
of data which is based on past information is called as secondary data and it is mainly collected
from any other sources not by the scholar own (Sutton and Austin, 2015). For example,
government publication, internet blogs or articles, books, journals etc. Primary data are more
accurate and real as compare to secondary but primary data is very time consuming. In this
current research, researcher has collected the data from primary sources through survey via
questionnaire. Therefore, with the application of primary data, scholar has efficaciously explored
the positive impact of globalisation on human resource functions of the businesses within
automobile industry with the use of qualitative methods.
Data Analysis
Data analysis is the next step after the collection of data. The information gathered in the
above step is of not use because it seems like raw information which is useless until and unless it
is evaluated. The process by which data is clean, mould, transform and synchronize is called as
data analysis. There are mainly two classification of data analysis which are qualitative and
quantitative methods (Houghton and et.al., 2015). The method in which data is evaluated or
measure by using statistical or analytical tools such as spreadsheet and SPPS is called as data
analysis through quantitative methods.
