INTRODUCTION
Managing of projects is a set of practices which is started from initiation of project and
finished when project is completed. Apart from that, Globalisation is a process in which an
organisation sales or purchase their products and services beyond their boundaries so as to cover
large market area and profitability. Chosen firm for this project is Morrisons which is the fourth
largest chain of supermarket in UK. Present report will discuss about the project management
plan which includes several aspects like scope, quality, time, resources. In addition, Small-scale
research along with qualitative or quantitative research methods will also mentioned under the
report. At last some recommendations will be provided to company which helps them in
enhancing their market share.
Positive impact of Globalisation in general to the businesses in the UK. Political Impact- Government of each nation wants to provide employment or improving
standard of living of their citizens. Due to which most of the governmental authorities
supports the globalisation in their nation because it not only increases coordination
between two nations but also supports the nation in raising the living standard of
individuals. Economic Impact : Globalisation encourages the organisations for providing their
products or services over their limit which automatically increases productivity,
profitability of firm. When profitability of firm will be enhanced in nation it
automatically supports economic development of the country.
Ethical Impact- Ethics includes beliefs, norms, and rules which are necessary for each
firm to follow so as to smooth functioning of operations. In order to make expansion in
other nations, company should make modifications in their current operations, marketing
or accounting methods so that any difficulty wouldn't be faced at new place.
Cultural Impact : When the firm wants to make expansion of their business operations in
different region then they required to recruit employees of assorted background or those
background where the company is expanding its business operations. When these kind of
employees will be recruited by HR department of organisation then chances of gaining
sustainability will be higher.

Background of the Research
Globalisation is a process through which people or business organisations of different
locations are interconnected and increase their market share or profitability through providing
products and services across their boundaries. Morrisons which is a supermarket chain in UK
wants to expand their business operations in new market. Then they have to make changes in
their operations or marketing functions and determine the needs and preferences of customers so
that products can be manufactured accordingly. Along with this, new employees who have
proper knowledge of new market will be required at workplace so that any difficulty wouldn't be
faced in new market (Baylis, 2017).

P2 Project management plan
Project management plan can be defined as a blue print of project which defines how the
project activities will be carried out, regulated or finished. In addition, it is a detailed document
that includes timelines and other planning documents which assists the investigators or project
managers in completing the projects within the given time-frame. Some important aspects which
should be considered by project managers while executing project activities are given as below:
Cost- This is an important aspect that must be considered by project managers so that
project activities of expansion can be conducted effectively. In reference with this, finance
managers of Morrisons have estimated the amount of £50,000 for expansion whereas,
researcher have demanded the amount of £7,000 so as to gathering valid data or concluded
the results easily.

Scope- The taken project is related with positive impact of globalisation on several
business operations of Morrisons. In this context, the impact of economic, ethical and
political on different business functions are positive which increases the possibilities of
Morrisons to achieve growth and success in new market. Scope of research is also wide as it
helps the researcher in understanding the concept of globalisation which helps them in
conducting further research for other clients (Charles Jr, 2017).
Time- It is also an important aspect because without determination of this any
project activity can't be executed on time. In context with the taken project, Time duration is
decided by project managers of Morrisons is 5 months. Whereas, researcher have decided
the time period of 75 days in order to accomplish the research along with providing valid
results to the management.
Quality- It is defined as the quality of products or services that are offered by
organisation to its customers so as to fulfilling their demand or needs. In Morrisons, they
have also make various modifications in their operations and marketing functions so as to
delivering quality products in new market. Such as they have provided training to their
employees and adopted new technologies as per the demand of new market so that quality
products can be offered by firm in new market. Whereas, researcher have used qualitative
method of research so that valid conclusion can be given to the management at the end of
research.
Communication- Without this, employees will not understand their roles and
responsibilities which leads to project towards failure. Therefore, it is important for the
project managers and researcher to adopt some effective communication channels so that
project can be executed effectively. Project managers can use several communication
channels like seminars or discussion method for communicating information with their
teammates. While, researcher have to use various communication channels like phone calls,
messages so as to gathering informations from respondents.
Risk- Risk can be occurred in any activity of project therefore, it is important for project
managers to identify it and overcome it with making specific policies or strategies in short time-
frame. In reference with this, several risks like insufficiency of funds, social factors, taste and
preferences of customers are related with the expansion of Morrisons that can impact their

growth and success in new market in negative manner. Whereas, researcher can face risk of
irresponsiveness of respondents, poor support of team workers etc. during the investigation.
Resources- In order to make expansion of business operations, several kind of
resources are required by the project managers of Morrisons like skilled staff members,
updated machinery, sufficient funds etc. Through effectively utilisation of these resources
project managers of Morrisons not only complete their expansion but also make growth of
firm in new market. Whereas, major resources which are required by researcher are funds or
efficient teammates for completing the research programme in time-frame.

Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for the Project - It is basically used in engineering
and for managing project activities so that project should be completed within the given time-
frame. In addition, this is project deliverable which organises whole team work into manageable
sections such as it assist the project managers to divide the complex activity of project in small
components so that all activities of project should be carried out easily ( Loch, 2011).

Gantt Chart - This is a Horizontal bar which was introduced by Henry L. Gantt in
1917. It is used for aligning project activities with time duration so that project managers
can make plans for controlling or regulating all the activities of project easily. With the help

Research can be defined as an investigation of study of materials or allocation of
sources so that valid information will be received for a chosen project. Therefore, researcher
should use appropriate methods for executing research so as to eliminating further
difficulties. There are mainly two kind of methods are used by investigators for conducting
research which are given as below:
Qualitative research : This method of research helps the investigator in gaining deep
knowledge of particular topic. For getting valid results, researcher uses opinions or views of
respondents in this method.
Quantitative research : In this method, researcher uses numerical or statistical based
data so as to gaining valid results at the end of research. This method is useful when researcher
have taken huge number of respondents and this data will be evaluated for constructing
conclusion.
In this project, qualitative method of research is taken into consideration by
researcher.
Data Collection - This is a systematic approach in which data is gathered or
measured for completing the research. There are mainly two kind of data collection which
are given as below:
Primary- In this kind of data collection, researcher have to collect fresh or reliable
data for very first time so that valid results would be provided at the end of research.
Secondary- In it, researcher have to use those informations which are already used
by someone and is easily available in the form of magazines, journals or internet sources.
Under this project, Researcher have used primary method of data collection in the
form of questionnaire so as to getting valid results at the end of research (Springer, 2013).
In this project, researcher have taken 40 respondents who are employees, customers
and stakeholders of organisation and their views will be considered as the whole view of
population. Along with this, open ended questionnaire and random sampling method is used
by researcher in this project.
