INTRODUCTION
The globalization is a widely used concept wherein any person or the company can do
trade with the other company in the foreign country and can sell and purchase goods and services
from the country beyond the geographical boundary of the country (Takey and de Carvalho,
2015). It may also be defined as the movement of products, services or even people or any
company from one country to another beyond the geographical boundaries of the country. For
the companies going global it is very beneficial for them because it helps the companies to
increase their market share by going with global business. This expansion of the business helps
the company in increasing the sales which in turn will increase the market share and as a result of
which the revenues and the profitability of the company increases.
The globalization has a great impact on the human resource function of the company.
Because of the increasing trend of the globalization there have been a substantial change in the
approach of manpower (Marshall and Rossman, 2014). There has been both negative and
positive impact on the human resource function due to globalization. The positive impact is that
due to globalization the competition has increased so the workers or the human resource works
more efficiently and effectively to beat the competition. On the other hand negative impact is
that because of globalization there has been much technological advancement which has
decreased the involvement of human resource in the organization.
Background of company
The Barclays bank is a multinational company based in United Kingdom as an
investment bank and a financial service provider. The company is headquartered in London and
it also deals in corporate banking, wealth management, investment management along with
personal banking. This bank has also a listing on the London Stock Exchange and also it is a part
of FTSE 100 Indices. It is also listed on the New York Stock Exchange. It has approximately
around 4750 branches in 55 countries and out of which 1600 branches are in UK itself. This bank
is also a member bank of Global ATM Alliance, which is an alliance of all the international
banks that allows all the banks and their consumers to exercise their ATM at other member
banks with no additional charges or fees (Fellows, Fellows and Liu, 2015).

today's globalized world the competition is at its peak and to face this competition the efficient
human resource is very needful and essential. Because of globalization there have been many
changes in the business environment and for overcoming these changes it is very necessary to
have a good and efficient human resource (Sekaran and Bougie, 2016). Also, there will be more
requirement of human resource due to globalization it is because of the reason that if the
company will extend in the global market than it will have more requirement of human resource
to handle the new establishment. Another reason for choosing human resource as the topic is that
when a business goes for internationalization than there are many differences in the culture,
habits, preferences of the consumers and many other factors. So for coping up the problem of
this culture barrier comes the HR because this is the only function which can help the other
employees to manage this difference and work more efficiently and productively.

How to evaluate challenges faced by Human Resource Function with in a company due
to emergence of International Trade ?
What are the ways through which company can improve its Human Resource function by
accommodating factors like Ethical, Economical and Cultural of globalisation?
PROJECT MANAGEMENT PLAN
The project management plan is an action plan or the blue print or a document which
outlines the whole way or whole structure in which a project will be completed. It includes all
the steps which are necessary to be followed like the execution, analysis, monitoring, evaluating
and controlling the working of the proposed project (Davis, Ravenscroft and Bizas, 2015). The
making of the project management plan is a key for the success of that project because it helps in
beforehand plan the steps of the project and how it will be executed. To make the project
management plan it has to keep the following points into consideration-
Scope- the word scope is referred to as the whole area up to which the given topic deals
or includes the other topics within it. The scope of the present study includes all the positive
impact of the culture, economic, and ethical impact of globalization on all the functions
performed within the organization. Also, it will study the interrelation between the human
resources function of the Barclays bank with the globalization.
Cost- it may be defined as the value which the business has to pay for using the materials
and other factors which the company uses to carry on its business. This factor is very important
for the accomplishment of the project because without money nothing can happen.
Communication- it may be defined as the process of transferring the information with
others responsible for doing the work. This is the most crucial step in the process of project
management because if the communication is not proper and fluent then the project will be a
complete failure. While formulating project management plan, communication plays a vital role.
It is because during the research, there are various things that needs to be inform to all the
stakeholders which are directly or indirectly concerted to the research study. In this present
research, researcher will use emails, telephones, circulars, emails that has been used to overcome
the communication gap between stakeholders and researcher (Hunt and Smith, 2018). The
proposed plan needs to be communicated with all the employees so that they can start working in
direction of accomplishing the project.

Risk- risk is referred to as an uncertain situation that may hamper the growth of the
company or a specific project. It is a contingent situation which depends upon the happening of
some future events (Corbin, Strauss and Strauss, 2014). It is very necessary to analyze all the risk
associated with the project in order to accomplish the project successfully. There have been
many different types of risk associated with the conduction of the project and the research. Some
types of risk are like credit risk, inflation risk, physical risk, risk of some diseases, injuries,
accidents, loss of data, theft, political risk, market risk and many other types of risk.
Resources- these refers to as the raw materials or the data or other inputs which are
required by the researcher in completing the whole research. For carrying out the research many
types of materials and data and things are required for doing successful research. There are many
research resources which are used by the researchers in order to complete their research on time
and successfully. These resources are like human resource, funds, money, stationery items, other
facilities like laptop, stationery like pen, registers and many other resources.
Time- this is the major factor which needs to be considered for successful of the research.
Time may be defined as the time frame within which the researcher has to complete the research
(Green, Watson and Collins, 2015). It may also be defined as the deadline before which the
research has to be accomplished.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research Methodology is an activity performed by researchers with an objective of
collecting & analysing data so that a business organisation can make important decisions related
to expansion and diversification of their business(Quinlan, Babin and Griffin, 2019). This
research is conducted to gather information related to impact of factors of globalization on
Human Resource department of company. Process of Research Methodology are discussed
below-
Research Methods
Research Methods are process through which different types of data can be collected.
Two types of research methods are used by researchers to conduct a research such as
Quantitative Method and Qualitative Method. Qualitative Method collects information which are
theoretical thus, it helps in resolving various problems. Further, information collected with the
help of this method is unorganized and consists of various complex theories which are not
collected through quantitative method. Because, Quantitative Method is an approach which
collect numerical data thus, research conducted with the by using this method is also known as
Empirical Study. Quantitative method also shows relationship among different variables so, this
method is more accurate and give exact data about a topic on which research is conducted.
Further, Quantitative method also present information with the help of graphs and tables through
which researcher can easily understand all the information.
Qualitative Method has been implemented in this research report by researcher because
of aim & objective of this report is to examine and evaluate impact of different factors on human
behaviour, motivation, beliefs and experience.
Research Approach
Research Approach is assumptions or hypothesis developed by researcher before
collecting information pertaining to a particular topic on which research is to be done. There are
three types of research approach Inductive Approach, Deductive Approach and Abductive
Approach. In Inductive Approach Aims, Objectives and Research Questions are prepared before
starting research and whole process of research is conducted by considering those aims &
objectives. Thus, this approach is very easy and less time consuming as no hypothesis is required
to made in this method. On the other hand, In Deductive Method researcher formulate various

6

hypothesis and on the basis of that hypothesis requirement of information collected is assessed.
If information is relevant according to hypothesis than it is accepted otherwise it is rejected.
Whereas, Abductive Approach is used in a research project which is containing
surprising facts or information which is not sufficient to determine outcomes of research. This
approach is most efficient as it covers weakness of both approaches Inductive & Deductive.
In this research report researcher has used Inductive Approach according to which
researcher has prepared aims and objectives which helps in collecting information related to
factors affecting operations of human resources department of Barclay Bank.
Research Philosophy
Positivism and Interpretivism are two types of Research Philosophy. Positivism
Philosophy is relied upon data collected with the help of scientific methods such as survey,
questionnaire and statistical graphs & tables. This philosophy believes in facts given by society
and individuals. Whereas, Interpretivism Philosophy contains qualitative data thus, according to
this philosophy data are collected from different individuals through interviews. As this theory
thinks that different individuals are having different experience so researcher interact with
participants personally and collected detailed explanation on their point of view.
Interpretivism Philosophy has been adapted in this research report as views of many
human resource managers working with in organisation are collected as this topic is very
wide(Mackey and Gass, 2015).
Research Design
Research Design are used to determine relationship between different factors. Two types
of Research Design is formulated in a process of research methodology Descriptive and
Experimental. According to Experimental approach of research design relationship among two or
more variables used in research such as in this research factors of globalisation and working of
human research department are evaluated. Further, this approach is quantitative and customary.
Whereas, Descriptive Design method is qualitative and use a structured formate for designing
and formulation of research. This method gives an overview of research in a systematic manner.
In this research report Descriptive Design Method has been used as it helps researcher in
evaluating challenges faced by human resource department of company with the increasing trend
of globalisation.

Probabilistic and non probabilistic are two method of sampling used in a research report.
Probabilistic Sampling is a technique of sample collection in which researcher will collect a
random sample from large number of population. This random sample is collected by using
statistical methods and by making an assumption. Further, responses gives by number of
participants selected as sample are used to collect results for research topic. On the other hand, in
non probabilistic sampling sample size is selected as per the opinion of researcher thus, there is
less chances for each individual to be selected as a sample size(Fletcher, 2017).
Probabilistic Sampling Approach has been adapted by researcher while conducting
research project in which researcher determine a sample size of 25 Human Resource Managers
of Barclay Bank.
Data Collection
Their are two types of data collection method adapted by researcher in collecting and
gathering important data related to research topic Primary Data Collection Method and
Secondary Method of Data Collection. According to primary method of Data Collection Data is
collected at a first time by different sources with the purpose of generating statistical records.
Data collected in this method are collected from primary sources thus, that will take more time
and efforts. Further, this method is more costly so if a researcher is gathering information at 1 st
time than he has to prepare his budget by keeping in mind cost incurred in this method.
Information collected by conducting surveys and making questionnaire as per this method.
On the other, data is collected with the help of secondary data in Secondary method of
data collection. Secondary resources of data collection are government statistical data, records
secured by organisations and information collected by other researchers on the same topic. This
method is less time consuming and feasible(Bresler and Stake, 2017).
This research has been done by following both the method of data collection as
importance of globalisation is depending upon change in economic, cultural and ethical factors
primary data is required to be collected and secondary data is used to compare changes in impact
of these factors.
Data Analysis
After collecting data it is necessary for researcher to analyse and evaluate collected data
with the purpose of checking its relevance with the topic. Quantitative & Qualitative are two

which information is analysed. Various tools such as Spread Sheet and SPSS are used for data
analysing through Quantitative Method. Further, this method is used to present the data in the
form of graphs and tables which makes easy for researcher to analyse and evaluate information.
All the statistical calculation such as mean, median, mode, regression and correlation is
determined with the help of this method.
On the other hand, Qualitative Analysis is adopted for analysing theoretical data collected
in research. Further, information from different sources are observed, reviewed and analysed
with the help of this method.
Researcher has adopted Qualitative Method for evaluation of data by using thematic
analysis which shows research data with the help of graphs, tables and charts.
Ethical Consideration
All the ethical & social factors has been considered by researcher while conducting this
research project. Consent has taken from the respondents before collecting data from them.
Further, assurance has been given to participants related to privacy protection and confidentiality
of information collected is ensured during this research project. This research has been carried
out after keeping in mind emotions and feelings of respondents. All the research data has been
collected with honesty and transparency. Furthermore, suggestions and recommendations given
by respondents has been considered and priority is given to them(Alvesson and Sköldberg,
2017).
