RESEARCH PROPOSAL FOR INFLUENCE OF GLOBALIZATION ON BUSINESS
Research question
The overall research will find answer to a main question based on which the entire research will
include facts and figures along with some statistical details about globalization influenced
business related activities. Following is the question that will be considered in the research.
What is the influence of globalization on business activities at local, national, and
international levels?
The question is aimed towards knowing the different activities that are included in globalization
and how those activities influence business operations of different industries at local, national,
and international levels. The local level influences are primarily about the comfort obtained by
the people while using the products having their origin in different companies. The National
level influences include the overall development happening in the country in terms of gross
domestic product for GDP and economic reformation due to the influence of a foreign culture.
The international level influence due to globalization generally includes the diplomatic
relationships between any two nations (Berger et al. 2015). The formation of international
alliances and groups are specifically because of the increasing effects of globalization on an
international platform. Therefore, finding the answers to the primary research question will result
into the exploration of different aspects of globalization and international as well as local
relationships in every organization having global or international interests.
Literature review
The following research will include a huge amount of data from secondary sources. Hence, it
becomes very important to consider authentic and well verified sources in order to conduct this
research in the most appropriate way. It is very difficult to analyze every aspect on the basis of
primary Research and therefore the secondary sources will play a significant role while carrying
out the major activities of this research. The statistical data will be considered from the annual
statement published by different companies based on which the extent of influence due to
globalization factors can be assessed. The primary areas that will be considered for study from
previous related researches and the literature was written by other authors will be the cultural
influences and exchange of technologies among different parts of the world. Every organization
as well as country has something uniquely special which can be beneficial to other people if
invested properly. Hence, the speciality of different cultures will be studied using online articles

and literature blogs available at different sources. Following are the major aspects of this
research proposal that will be covered in the upcoming research regarding globalization and its
influences on businesses in different industries and sectors.
Use of factual and statistical data
The most important activity that will be undertaken is the secondary research where articles and
literature written by different people will be studied and reports will be formulated on the basis
of the same. This will include a thorough research where different articles will be carefully
studied and statistical facts will be calculated from those articles. There are likely to be different
statistical figures in different articles and therefore the mean of those statistical figures will be
considered in order to include analyzed data in the final report. The information belonging to
some specific organizations will be collected from the official websites and pages on social
media that are officially handled by those companies. It is very important to have plenty of
information readily available so that the research can be completed within a short duration
without compromising the quality. The internationally recognized blogs and data collected from
governmental sources about the statistical details regarding growth rate and GDP of different
countries will also be taken from secondary sources (Liang et al. 2015).
Analysis of different cultures from different regions
The study of different culture belonging to people from different communities living all over the
world is also a critical factor to identify the globalization influence. The uniqueness of every
culture provides an advantage to that culture in terms of business knowledge and tactics to
resolve common issues that are faced by the companies. It is also very important to know about
the traditional methods of marketing and interaction with people so that the best way can be
identified and resources like time and money could be preserved. The cultural aspects found in
different corners of the world are also very important it to be considered before establishing a
business in that part of the world. Hence, knowing the culture located at local places where the
target population is to be served and a new industry is to be established helps the companies very
much in order to identify the needs and demands of the customers and manage their business
activities accordingly. The culture of different communities and people can be understood by
going through the details available online especially the videos that are shot at different
locations. The internet based information that describes the lifestyle and cultural preferences of

people from different regions are very helpful for the organizations to identify the needs of those
people and manage their production accordingly. As a result of this, globalization can occur
easily in different parts of the world resulting into mutual benefits for the companies
participating in collaborated trade and business (Glavina, 2015).
Conducting primary research activities to understand local influence of globalization
The research about globalization will also include some primary data which will be collected
after interacting with the people at local levels. Direct interaction of the people is also very
important because it gives a rough idea about the thinking of people at ground level regarding an
organization or a foreign culture that has been brought into their local areas through
globalization. The products that are imported from different countries are preferred by the
customers on the basis of the usability and durability factors. However, the rapidly changing
demands and requirements of customers might also affect the overall globalization related
scenario because the companies also have to change their production accordingly. Moreover, the
companies also have to make necessary investments according to the changing market scenarios.
Therefore, primary research has been conducted keeping in mind the effect of globalization on
the demands of local target population and vice versa (Sajuyigbe et al. 2016).
Examining the appropriate research methods along with the conducting of
primary and secondary research [P2]
Methodology
The research has been conducted using both primary and secondary approach methodologies.
The research also includes explanatory technique of data evaluation where no new fact has been
discovered but the existing statistical facts and data have been in display in a well organized and
presentable manner. The primary technique has been considered so that the perceptions about
globalization along with its influence can be identified at the local levels. The primary research
activities have been conducted by interacting with people from different categories on the basis
of geographical, financial, societal, and cultural differences. The secondary research on the other
hand has been conducted by looking at the information provided by some official website and
organizations. The statistical data about the GDP growth rate, per capita income, global passport
power index, and several other organizational websites have been collected. This is because it is

not possible to collect the data primarily and the organizations who conduct these researches are
experts in conducting such studies.
Evaluating the different research approaches and methodologies and making
justifications for the choice of methods selected based on philosophical and
theoretical frameworks [M1]
The primary activities of the research have been done the by conducting interviews and survey.
A questionnaire has been designed for the sample population decided to take part in the survey
and several options have been provided. The responses have been taken down appropriately
based on which further analysis has been done. The quantitative analysis mainly consists of the
survey whereas the qualitative analysis is about the interviews that were conducted where some
prominent individuals were interacted with who can provide and inner view of the advantages
and disadvantages of globalization related activities. The Modeling and sampling of quantitative
analysis has been done randomly where people from different financial and societal backgrounds
have been called up to take part in the survey. In addition to this, online survey has also been
conducted on several social media platforms to know about the opinion held by the people.
Critical evaluation of the research methodologies and processes in application
to a business research project to justify that used in research methods and
analysis [D1]
There might be some difficulties while organizing a survey event which will mainly include time
delay and explaining the people about the entire process. Organizing the events might also be
difficult because selecting the venues and preparing the questionnaire will be a matter of concern
as all the major aspects of globalization are to be covered. There are likely to be some people
who do not have much information about the entire globalized ecosystem and therefore it needs
to be briefly explained to them. Considering the analytical techniques, both qualitative and
quantitative analysis will be done using graphical representations and detailed statements. The
graphical representations will show an approximate idea about people’s opinion which will be
quite helpful for the companies as it will give an idea about the demands and requirements. The
possible areas where supply can be met according to the demands of the customers will also be
identified throughout the research after analysis of the data obtained after collection. The

In order to conduct a research, both primary and secondary methodologies are important as as a
balance of both give the most appropriate outcome from the research perspective. The secondary
method of research is also very important because it gives the factual data collected from
different sources by different agencies that a professionally involved in conducting such
activities. The data about globalization involves a wide range of information which is is very
difficult to obtain using primary methods of data collection. This majorly includes the impact of
of globalization on different countries in terms of business statistics and cultural influences.
However, the primary analysis majorly consists of direct interaction with the customers and other
people belonging to the sample population with the objective of data collection. Following are
the details about primary and secondary data collected from different sources.
Primary data collection
The primary data collection includes questionnaire used for surveys and the direct interviews
conducted with some of the managers working in some multinational companies. Following are
the details about the interview and survey along with the responses.
Interview
The main question that was asked to two different managers working in different organisations
was about the influence of globalization in their respective companies. Following are the
responses given by those two managers.
Manager 1 from Sainsbury – We have been able to import many products from different
countries that our cultural influence and are preferred in our country. People like those products
very much because they have never seen something similar before. Moreover, we are also
communicating with our overseas clients so that we can get new orders for those products. We
are optimistic about the upcoming business scenarios because we are more likely to receive
