many others (Crane and Matten, 2016). On the other hand, globalisation has lead to cause some

limited company. There are 38100 employees and it was founded by John Lewis in 1864. There
are approximately 21 shops of John Lewis across England. Further this report will formulate
aims and objectives on which the entire research study will be conducted.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT PLAN
Project Management Plan is very essential to prepare before conducting any research
study. It is a formal document which defines the manner by which project begins, monitored and
controlled. It is the summary of or detailed document that includes baselines for completing the
research in very effective manner.
Cost: This is first and the most essential elements of project management plan. Before
starting the study, researcher has to plan the actual cost required to complete the research. This
present research required $5000 for completing the investigation study (Asongu and Tchamyou,
2016).
Scope- The investigation scope refers to a summary of the limits of the actual study
researcher intends to carry out. The scope of the present research is both for corporate and
academic sector.
Time- Schedule is very essential elements in project management plan. Each and every
activities should be scheduled so that delay in work will not arrive. This present research will be
completed in 1 month.
Quality- To make the research study authentic and reliable, quality is very important
thing to consider. Researcher ensures the quality, in selecting research methods, data collection
etc. Key performance indicator tool has used by scholar to make the investigation examination
effective and efficient.
Communication- Communication is the fundamental aspects when it comes to
conducting the research study. There should be effective communication between the function
of business and all the activities related to the purpose of globalisation (Epstein, 2018). Scholar
has used emails, circulars for effective communication.

Risk- Risk is the probable aspect in the any research as it cannot be ignored. It is very
important to make proper assessment of the potential risk such as theft of data, security issues,
risk of misrepresentation, risk of authenticity and validity, etc.
Resources- In conducting the research study, scholar has to evaluate required resources
to carry out research (Najam, Runnalls and Halle, 2016). Laptop, stationery items, transportation
cost, storage devises and software are the resource required in this present research.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGIES
Research Type:
It is very complex task to select the best suitable type of research to carry out the whole
study. Research is the careful consideration of the study related to the problem using scientific
methods. Qualitative and Quantitative are two types of research. Quantitative research is a type
of study where the words, emotions, feeling, views are considered. On the other hand,
quantitative research are those which is concerned with number and measurement (Quinlan and
et.al., 2019). This present research is based on qualitative aspect as scholar has taken views of
participant. Qualitative method is very simple and easy to understand, even a lay man can
understand the results. Thus, by using qualitative research methods, scholar studied on the
positive and negative impact of globalization in John Lewis.
Research Design
Research design is a outline as a framework of techniques and methods chosen by
investigator to combine different elements of investigation in a logical manner so that the
research problems are efficiently handled. By using appropriate research design, it becomes very
easy to conduct investigation by using particular methodology. Descriptive and Experimental are
two types of research design. By using descriptive research design, scholar is solely interested in
describing the situation of the research study. Beside this, experimental research design is used to
establish a relationship between the cause and effect situation. This present research includes
descriptive research design as this is the best suitable when research is qualitative. Thus, by
using descriptive research design, scholar identifies the positive and negative impact of
globalization in John Lewis.
Research Approach
After the selection of research design and research type, it is very important to select the
proper research approach to answer the research questions. It is a plan and procedure which
consist of the steps of wide assumption to detailed methods of data collection. There are mainly
two types of research approach which are deductive and inductive. Testing and aimed theory is
called as deductive approach. Beside this, inductive approach is mainly concerned with the
generation of new theory emerging from the data. This present research includes inductive
research approach because it is the best suitable when study is qualitative. Thus, by using
6

inductive research approach, scholar identify the positive and negative impact of globalization in
John Lewis (Mangrum, 2016).
Sampling
It is very important part of qualitative research. It is because data collection part is
depended on the method of sampling selected by the researcher. Sampling is the process to
divide the large population into small size. It is very essential to select the sample size because of
lack of time and money. It is also fact that it is not possible to study the entire population. There
are mainly two types of sampling which are probability sampling and non-probability sampling.
The technique where respondents have equal chances to be selected in the sample is called as
probability sampling (Elliker and Williams, 2016). Beside this, the technique where participant
does not have equal chances to be selected in the sample size is called as non- probability
sampling. This present research includes probability sampling where random sampling is used by
scholar. 10 managers of John Lewis has been selected for sample size.
Data Collection
Data collection is the well-defined and a systematic approach to collect and measure
information form variety of sources in order to get a complete along with accurate picture of an
area of interest. Data collection is very important part of the research methodology as the whole
discussion is depended on the information collected by the scholar. Primary and Secondary are
two methods for gathering data. Data which is collected by the scholar own efforts is called
primary data such as survey, interview, force group etc. Beside this, the data which are collected
from any other sources are known as secondary data such as books, journals, articles, internet.
Reliability and validity is high in primary data as it is fresh and unused data (Hubert, Nuzillard
and Renault, 2017). This present research included both primary and secondary data to make the
research study more authentic and reliable and scholar has effectively identified the positive and
negative impact of globalization in John Lewis.
Data Analysis
The process of data analysis starts when the data collection process ends. As when the
data is gathers it is raw in form, thus, researcher clean, inspect, mould the data to make it
meaningful. It is very important to analyse the data as data without its evaluation is useless and
meaningless. Qualitative and Quantitative are two methods used for data analysis. Qualitative
method refers to non-numeric information like views, interviews, words etc. On the other hand,
7
Document Page
Quantitative method refers to numeric information where researcher has to use SPSS tool. This
present research includes qualitative analysis where thematic analysis has been done. The data
are presented by tables, graph and charts (Woodward and et.al., 2016). Thus, by using inductive
research approach, scholar identify the positive and negative impact of globalization in John
Lewis.
