Drivers of globalization
These have drivers of connectedness, which serve as powerful catalysts designed to enable and

2015). These are:
Technology (internet connection, mobile technology, skype, social media etc.)

Cultural integration and Global Challenges
Global connectedness has non-economic benefits such as cultural integration. As people mingle
and share cultural practices, the world unite for a common agenda. This comes with benefits and
challenges.
Advantages of cultural unity
-Opportunities and movement of people across the globe (eco-tourism, medical, social and
educational tourism)
-capitalizing on tourism and intercultural benefits of global connectedness
Challenges
-immigration brings inequality in global sphere
-Locals resist immigration (Xenophobia in South Africa and UK anti-immigrant protests)
Research states that global culture is inevitable but it comes with economic challenges to address
(Ferraro & Briody, 2017).
3. Recommendation and strategies
-Monitored global connectedness for greater benefits than challenges
-Economic integration for equal distribution of resources
-Social integration for shared values (sports, poverty alleviation, environmental concerns).
