1.3 Critical review (Literature review)
Concept of globalization
According to Landt and Melville, (2013) globalization is essential for any nation's
development and improving lifestyle of its citizen. It is beneficial for country's growth and
enhancing different kinds of efficiencies globally. However, globalization affects on country's
growth in different ways. For managing transaction of goods, services, information and different
things, government of the nation prepares various policies to be followed on. Therefore, several
aspects of globalization is gained for effectiveness of nation involving different sectors
8

employment, tourism, education and so on. In this regard, various tools and factors are affected
for overall development of other nations' efficiencies. Therefore, it is recognized that
globalization is essential for developing nation and its different factors for enhancing nation's
efficiency. Including this, exchange of products and country's goods are exchanges from one to
another that affects several factors and nation's growth. However, importance of globalization is
gained that affects different sectors of any nation for balancing development of various nations
internationally. It is recognized that globalization impacts on country's growth in all ways for its
effectiveness as well enhancing efficiencies. Apart from this, through exchanging goods,
information and services from one country to another is helpful for development of different
countries worldwide. Including this, nation's growth can be achieved for proper balancing
through helping each other top allocate resources and fund effectively. Moreover, several kinds
of development of any nation is achieved for improving living standard of people and providing
different services from one to another country for proper balances. Therefore, various tools and
technological growth of any country can be achieved through this approach. However,
globalization is helpful to developing nation and increasing social and cultural development of
nation. Thus, it is analyzed that globalization is a process that remains helpful for exchanging
goods and services from one country to another globally therefore all countries development can
be gained in efficient ways.
On the contrary to this, Nédó and Paulik, (2012) argues that there are different rules and
obligations set by various countries relating to globalization. However, differences in social
choices and various interests of people adequate balance of all nations is not effective globally.
In this regard, variances in social systems and culture, exchange of goods and information
remains difficult. Including this, due to inefficient fund and poor countries are not able to
accepting advance technologies and machinery equipment. Along with this, different countries
have various charges for import and export of products therefore, high charges on excise duty as
well exchange of goods are remains costly an not affordable for all countries. Therefore, it is
difficult for any country to exchanging goods and services from one country to another because
of variances in resources and fund efficiency of different nations. Thus, it is needed for any
country to analyzing actual profitability and potentials for exchanging goods and information
from one country to another. All countries development can be achieved through focusing on
9

each individual's strength and seeking to create balance among nations through aid economically
and non-financially. Hence, it is necessary for any country to apply globalization term by
focusing on all countries' potential and efficiency for transacting goods and information
efficiently.
Therefore, it is analysed that globalization is influenced on business operations of entity
worldwide. It has both positive and negative impacts which is food habits in any country.
However, food habits are varies from people to people because of differences in tastes, attitude
and so on. On critical evaluation, it is identified that it is difficult to consider an individual's
choice as well providing services according to is. Thus, it is essential to consider both positive
and negative impacts of globalization on country's people food habits.
To analyze impact of globalization on country food sector in terms of introduction of foreign
dishes in the nation due to change in food habits of people”
As per the point of view of Januszewska,, Pieniak and Verbeke, (2011) globalization
affects citizen's interest towards various kinds of dishes and tastes that increase people's spending
on restaurants. This lead to enhancement of entire productivity in restaurant industry. Ultimately,
this lead to enhancement of country’s economic growth. Through transacting goods and services,
different countries' people get attracted towards various tastes and various nations' uniqueness. It
is one of the effective aspect especially for developing country to balancing resources and unique
tastes of food from one country to another efficiently. However, it is beneficial for restaurants to
acquire knowledge about several nations' unique products and taking advantages of that things to
introduce product in homeland. Therefore, with introduction of new product curiosity created
among the people and them start eating foreign dishes. This lead to change in the eating habits of
the people to some extent. It is useful term for improving life style of country's people by
providing them various tastes of other nations' food. Hence, globalization impacts on citizen
demand for various countries food for example; Chinese, Mexican, Italian and so on. Thus,
globalization process relating to import and export of different food tastes that is interlinked with
proper economic growth of nation.
Frewer, Risvikand Schifferstein, (2013) claims that globalization affects negatively on
each country's citizen tastes and interest for food. Due to variances in different people tastes for

food, import and export get affected. However, it is difficult for any nation to promote and
sustain individual dish in other country. In many nations it happened that people start consuming
more foreign dishes then indigenous dishes. Including this, because of dynamics in government
policies for exchanging goods and services, various factors and other sectors get impacted.
Along with this, it is also gained that interest towards other countries' dishes affect on particular
nation's dishes. It is because attraction towards other dishes get increased however lack in
demand for own nation's food is analyzed. It is resulted for increasing in import that is
interlinked with country's monetary position. In this regard, several factors get affected regarding
balancing of all nations' food sector and demand for dishes which are in trend as well variances
in their testes. Thus, it is necessary for preparing policies related to globalization in food sector
for increasing food varieties and different tastes that impacts import and export of food in
different countries.
Now-a-days, it is trend to adopt other countries culture in terms of providing variety of
dishes regarding their choices. However, it is good for increasing satisfaction level of different
countries' people which impact on visiting and customer loyalty. It influences profit level and
increasing nation's effectiveness at maximum level. Likewise, on critical evaluation, author also
argues that it is difficult to adopt new culture because of different issues such as; high cost
required, demographic and geographic factors' issue and so on. Thus, it is needed to consider
different countries' culture as well adopting them for maximizing customers' interests variety in
food in wide range.
Globalization and changes in eating habits of people
In opinion of Neghina and et.al., (2010) different countries have various tastes of food
that affects their interest and food habits. By importing and exporting food within countries,
different changes are implemented including technologies and various flavors in food. However,
attraction towards particular country's food is increased that is interrelated with monetary
position of nation. In this regard, different changes are occurred such as people's lifestyle, living
standard and varieties of tastes in food. It influences environment of country and healthcare
sector of the nation. Therefore, different environmental factors affect people attitude and
perception towards food services of several countries. In accordance to this, changes in food
habits are increased as well varieties of choices are obtained for testing different food and flavors

of various nations worldwide. Including this, import and export of food get affected through this
changes including social status and people interest towards food. Along with this, various kinds
of food and different tastes are gained for people's habit and demand for different tastes. For
example; demanding Chinese and Mexican food in UK provides different tastes and unique
features in food and flavors. Therefore, different choices are available for food habits and
demand for different country's flavors. Hence, due to changes in food habit of country's people,
varieties in choices are determined that affects environment of food sector of any particular
country.
On the basis of critical evaluation, Yeh and et.al., (2014) claims that due to variances in
food habits and particular choice of food habit of any country's people, environment get
impacted. However, for import and export of food and different flavors of dishes are changed.
Including this, negative perception towards any nation's food remains unable for promoting and
sustaining food in other country of the world. Moreover, it is difficult for any country for
development in food sector due to inefficient resources and fund so that nation's proper growth
remains difficult. Along with this, due to high cost of food and dishes, all countries are not able
to transacting food within nations worldwide. Therefore, environment and different kinds of
lacks are determined for taking advantages of different countries' food. Including this, because of
variances in food tastes and changes in rules for import and export of products affect nation's
economic growth. However, due to inefficient fund and resources as well variances of different
countries' fluctuated earning power, different variations are occurred in nation's growth.
Therefore, it is needed for country to presenting its own food specialty more attractively and
enhancing improvements for proper growth effectively. In this regard, it is necessary for any
country to increasing export and decreasing import therefore proper management of food and
nation's development can be achieved systematically.
Changes in food habits is very common from people to people therefore adopting new
culture and providing services according to there is needed for any country. It is related with
profit maximization and competitiveness in comparison to other nations of the world. Therefore,
according to people's changes attitude, variety of ideas are generated for increasing their
satisfaction level as well demand for food services on larger scale.
Impact of change in social factor and economic environment on people eating habit

As per the point of view of Bauer, (2014) globalization has both aspects positive and
negative that affects different factors for proper management and overall growth of country. It is
evaluated that globalization is helpful for exchanging goods and information from one country to
another for proper balance. In this regard, various tools and aspects are gained for improving
lifestyle of different countries' people and increasing their standard of living. Moreover, it is
useful for providing several kinds of tastes in food for country's people. Therefore, increasing in
demand for several food and flavors will be enhanced that is useful for improving food habits
and economic growth of any nation. It is helpful for establishing good relationship among
different countries of the world. It is helpful for creating food sector as global through providing
various nations' food internationally. However, healthy and secured food provided by an
individual country increases demand for goods from other nation that affects development of all
countries worldwide. Including this, it is effective for improving quality services of country for
increasing social and cultural development of any nation's development at high level. However,
globalization affects country's development and improving living standard of people of different
countries.
On the contrary to this, Blumberg, Cooper and Schindler, (2014) claims that due to
changes economic and social factor variation comes in the eating habits of the people. Including
this, high costs of products remains lead to less desire among the people to visit restaurant for
taking lunch or dinner. It can be said that economic condition of the people affect their eating
habits to great extent. Many times due to poor economic condition of the nation people spending
power declined and lead to change in the eating habits of the people. It is risky for advertising
particular products and transacting goods in other country due to different people various choices
and perception towards services. It can be said that social factor affects the eating habit of the
people. Including this, because of various social systems and cultural differences, a particular
nation's growth remains difficult for overall and all countries' development. Thus, it is necessary
for nation to focusing on positive factors of globalization and improving all countries' standard
as well social and improving living of standard.
Author expresses that social factors and environmental changes are recognized which
impact on food habits and country's sectors as economic, employment, socio-economic and so
on. However, varies in these factors impact on demand and profitability for which decisions are

made regarding variety in food of different countries of the world. Therefore, it is needed to
analyse these differences in social systems and cultures of different countries for providing food
according to requirements and improving efficiencies at higher level.
1.4 Research project specification
The research project comprises different specifications that provides deep knowledge
related to projecting and accomplishing tasks. In this regard, some main specifications can be
described as below:-
Research approach:- There are different kinds of research approaches applies for
conducting research such as deductive, inductive, abdeductive and so on. Under
deductive approach, validity of hypothesis and assumptions are testes while for inductive
approach, new theories and different contributions are generalized (Caillaud, Rose and
Goepp, 2016). However, for inductive conceptual framework is created as well for
deductive data collection is done by using existing theories for research project.
Therefore, for this present research project related to determining impact of globalization
on citizen of Prahova, research will use inductive approach. Under which, he will conduct
research through preparing implementing new theories and gaining different ideas of
country's managers from different restaurants. Thus, inductive research approach will be
used for reaching out set target and accomplishing the task effectively.
Research philosophy:- It is considered as belief that shows tools to collect data and
analyzing them. There are two kinds of research philosophy conducted for gathering
information just as positivist and anti-positivist. However, positivist philosophy terms as
scientific while the other one known as interpretivist. In this regard, positivist theory
involves observation and objective viewpoint of respondents. For using this research
philosophy, views of respondents are collected and analyzed (Eisingerich, Auh and
Merlo, 2014). While, on the other side, interpretivism theory is subjective in nature and
involves scientific knowledge under which different interpretations of study. For this
present research project, researcher is to be used interpretivism theory thereby varieties of
ideas can be gained as well observed for recognizing globalization impact on food sector
for citizen of Prahova. It is beneficial for gaining actual position and impact of
globalization on country's effectiveness.
14
Document Page
Research design:- It is the set of different methods and procedures to be used for
conducting research including descriptive, correlation, experimental and so on. Including
this, different kinds of research designs are applied as quantitative and qualitative for
gathering information from by observation and collecting data at primary and secondary
level. For this research, descriptive theory is to be applied for identifying impact of
globalization on food sector of the country (Ennew, Binks and Chiplin, 2015). Therefore,
analyst will conduct research through primary data collection by asking questions to
various managers from different restaurants who engaged in international business trade.
Data collection:- Information are gathered through qualitative and quantitative methods
for conducting research and analyzing globalization impact on nation's effectiveness.
However, for primary data collection, information are gathered through conducting
survey, face to face interview and door to door asking questions for determining current
market position. It is helpful for getting actual position of food sector in Prahova and its
development (Farrokhyar, 2014). While, on the other hand, through secondary data
collection, information are gained by ready and prepared materials such as newspaper,
magazine, analyzing performance tools and so on. Therefore, for this present research
project, research is to be used survey method by asking questions to selected 20 managers
from different restaurants randomly of the country related to globalization impact on
food sector that is interlinked with nation's effectiveness.
Data analysis:- After conducting research through asking questions to managers from
different restaurants of the country, collected information is analyzed. It presents actual
position and role of globalization on nation's development. It emerges varieties of ideas
for improving social status and living standard that affects globally. Therefore, data are
analyzed through this process for improvements in food and healthcare sector of nation.
Including this, interrelation of food with other sectors of country is also obtained that
affects overall development of nation at high level (Flick, 2015). Thus, collected data are
analyzed by which decisions are made for development and improving quality services of
country involving helping other nations by providing resources and fund internationally.
Hence, data analysis is one the essential process of any research project that is useful for
generating innovative ideas for proper development.
15
Document Page
Ethical consideration:- Researcher focuses on different ethical considerations for taking
conducting research and analyzing managers from different restaurants views. However,
for this process, before asking questions, he get permitted for survey and also not focus
them for participate in survey (Haumann and et.al., 2014). Including this, for getting
information through internet, he did not try to access the sites which are restricted to open
up. Therefore, several ethical considerations are focused for conducting research and
collecting data for projecting.
Therefore, for collecting data regarding changes in food habits in Prahova, researcher is to use
different approaches. In this regard, he is to use inductive approach that includes theories and
different factors. Similarly, he is to use discriptive approach in which discussion on positive and
negative aspects are structured on which decisions are made for further implementation.
Likewise, interpretivism philosophy is to use for interpretation of collected data and further
decision making on it. However, he is to conduct survey of 20 randomly selected respondents by
which actual market position and customers' attitude can be identified by which decisions are
made effectively for the further years.
1.5 Plan and procedure for project
Research project consists of a systematic process to be followed on projecting that
involves conducting research, collecting information for analyzing different views and then after
making decisions on the basis of data analysis to achieve development of nation and improving
living standard of country's people as well providing them goods and services which are
available in other nations globally. Therefore, plan and process for research project can be
expressed as follows:-

manipulation are done with that information. Ways of collecting the primary data are as follows:
A1) Observation methods: This method is commonly used in studies which are relating
to the behavior science. In this method the observation is scientific tool. The method includes the
structured and unstructured. Participant and non-participant, controlled and uncontrolled.

form of question is planned and question is put in that questionnaire
A4) Schedule: In this methods enumerators are appointed and special training is given to

Sampling is the process of selecting the subset out of the total population. It is done when
the population size is large and it is not possible to collect the data from the total population.
There are two ways of doing the sampling, these are as follows
A) Probability method: These are done as such way that sample represent the population.
This provide the most valid result because the sample reflects the characteristics of the
population. There are various ways to collect the probability sampling, these are as follows.
a) random sampling: it is the sampling where each element has the probability to being
chosen. There is same number of chances of each element of population to being selected as
sample (Saeidi, Sofian and Saaeidi, 2015).
b) systematic sampling: the sample are selected in the regular interval such that the
interval is 4 and the first is select on the random basis as such 2 is being selected than the sample
would be 2,6,10 etc
c) stratified sampling: in this method the strata is being selected. That strata are the
groups made on the same characteristics and the random sampling is done out of each strata.
B) non-probabilistic sampling: non-probabilistic sampling is sampling in which each
element does not have the probability to being selected. There are various ways, these are as
follows:
a) convenience sampling: the sample are being selected on the basis of ease of access
b) snowball sampling: the sample are being collected on the basis of the social
connection and the sample are biased and does not five proper research conclusion
