Reflection/Discussion Report

Essay herewith is written in support of Globalisation which has provided me immense
knowledge about the subject area and increased my skills in the research field. I have chosen the
topic of “Globalisation” after a long discussion with my group fellows. Reason behind selection
of this topic was due to its popularity around the world. Thus, we found it as the most happening
topic in the current scenario as per the available literature. To nurture this essay, I have used
secondary sources of data including books, journals and online articles. The reason behind using
secondary data collection sources is to get information on the subject area as it has already been
studied by previous authors. Prior to select the topic, I have discussed with my group and all the
members have put their negative and positive arguments on globalization. The group discussion
with my fellow members has changed my mind and I came to know that there is a wide literature
available on globalization. Each and every member of the group came with specific points in
support of globalization which were convincing and encouraged me for finding more information
on this subject. The members of group were from different backgrounds and their way of
interaction was also not same. Hence, group’s political / gender / cultural differences have
significantly influenced me through their way of putting points in an argumentative essay.
During discussion, I came to know that I neglected area such as benefits and challenges of
globalization and thus, after group discussion is over, I have researched for the same through
other secondary sources that were carried out to the relevant topic which have further helped me
in crafting a viable and impressive essay. Hence, discussion helped me in identifying areas such
as benefits, disadvantages, challenges and issues with respect to globalisation and I included
them which have not considered previously.
While conducting secondary investigation, I came to know that most of the authors have
supported globalization. Even my group fellows were also agree with my point of view. Initially,
I felt that I was wrong to support globalization, however, the literature shown me that authors
that I have included in the study were not having any biasness and their arguments was free of
any biased opinion. My fellow members have helped me a lot in this research and provided me
various opinions to carry out the essay effectually. However, sometimes, they were disagreeing
with my opinion as some of my thoughts were not according to them. But, after a healthy
discussion, we cleared each other with the points. Throughout the essay, I have positively
supported globalization as I was to persuade the reader for addressing positive aspects of
globalization in a way that it puts a positive impact on the lives of people around the globe with

certain disadvantages. In the first paragraph, I discussed real issue associated with globalization
and its positive impacts as my major idea was to support globalization. Throughout the essay, I
used range of references to support my arguments which included counter arguments of different
authors. In this manner, I quoted the essay in a well-structured manner for which I planned each
and every paragraph while quoting a link between each line.
