Globalization is the process of the exchange of business activities in terms of employees,
ideas and other business functions by the correlation of culture, trade policies and organizational
norms. During past 50 years, globalization is continuously increasing within corporate sector and
companies are receiving number of advantages due to its inclusion (Dippel, Gold and Heblich,
2015). New globalisation era have been evolved with the inclusion of philosophical changes and
global technological adoption. Organizations are developing their connections, sharing their
goals, visions throughout geographical boundaries and increasing their profit margins and market
share. Apart from these advantages, globalization have also generated number of issues for
employees and employers. Organizations need to effectively plan their retention strategies to
retain its employees for long time frame. Talent pools' expectations from companies have
increased in terms of career development plans. It has also increases the dependency of
organizations on external agencies or employees. The factors such as discriminating task forces
on the basis of societal and cultural values have also been increased (Najam, Runnalls and Halle,
2016). Certain factors such as language barriers, developing technologies, strategic talent
acquisition programs, communication hindrances and aligning with governmental reforms have
increased for organizations.
This research study will take place in the context of Tesco, which is a retail industry
founded in 1919 with headquarters in England.

Globalization is increasing the connectivity of different organizations and reducing the
cultural barriers among people. Organizations are extending its services and level of engagement
process with the inclusion of various measures ta global level. As per the views of Kanten,
Kanten and Gurlek (2015)he functions of globalization have raised the level of competitive
advantages and greater competition for companies. Involvement of foreign firms and employees
in organizations have increased the performances and providing identity to the company.
Different business sectors are receiving high scope of information transformation processes,
better options for market penetration and effective talent pools to execute advanced business
activities.
Developments and innovation in corporate sectors are the result of globalization which is
continuously increasing the sales and quality of services. Domestic trades and markets are
extending its scope and patterns of delivering the services with innovative platforms only due to
increased globalisation. Companies have started using the state of art mode of supply to maintain
its brand reputation in global markets. Globalization have delivered policy of maintaining
strategic business planning to attain sustainability in global market. Global business functions
and advance cross-cultural connectivity of organizations have increased the processes of
communication and increased productivity of employees. As far as different market sectors are
considered, globalization have significantly affected the retail industries. Retail markets have
received various ways of increasing their pools of customers throughout the world.
In accordance with findings of Marshall and Fisher (2015), Economy of countries have
been positively affected by globalization by the improvement of effective outsourced services,
advanced technological supports and other global connections which have raised the quality of
conducting business activities. It has provided strategic options to companies to accumulate
suitable resources from different countries which support it to build strong market image. Along

There are numerous of factors which is continuously affecting internal policies of
organizations. The main factor is the increasing globalisation that have generated certain

challenges to retail industries. Retail marketing strategies are being getting advanced to increased
competition, activities of trade and commerce have gained surplus amount of innovative
techniques which has raised the effectiveness of supply chain management of multinational
companies. Along with it, retail companies and other sectors are getting opportunities to target
new customers due to globalization. It has provided vast and diversified area of development to
companies which may be the best possible advantage that has been received by retail industries.
Cohen (2018) suggests that Employment opportunities have increased with the help of
globalized business functions. With increasing business functions, needs of employees for
performing organizational activities have also increased. Employers, employees and recruiters
are receiving high range of career opportunities from different countries as well. People are
continuously getting ample amount of options for employment within their own countries due to
the exchange of manpower. Due to globalization, it has become possible for multinational
companies to introduce their service branches in different countries which have raised the
number of employment for local people of that particular city or country.
As per findings of Reijonen and et.al., (2015)With increased globalization it has become
difficult for new enterprise to enter into the market easily. Global and established companies are
highly promoted and are receiving greater amount of advantages comparatively. Moreover, the
retail sectors have gained adequate amount of profit by globalization. Branding of the company
have become feasible for retail sectors by the utilization of different modes of supply as per the
interests of the public or customers.
The research by Gygli, S and et.al., (2018), suggests that Globalization have raised some
issues within corporate sectors such as the cross border trade have increased the risk of
information leakage of organizations. It has become extremely necessary for large multinational
companies to select the most trusted and authenticated platform. Furthermore, the risks related to
the complex connectivity between outsourced services have also highly contributed in generating
severe risks for the organizations. Developed countries like China, UK, US, Canada and Mexico
are significant countries that are speedily expanding with increasing globalization.
Suggested by Blanton, Blanton and Peksen, (2015)Globalisation is continuously
providing support to the global retail stores in terms of increasing demands of the customers.
Companies are receiving good import and export services by the help of globalized and
outsourced services. With increasing markets and various market sectors, the retail companies

P2 Research Methodology
Research methodology is a set and combination of different steps related to the research
processes which is conducted to increase the validity and reliability of overall study. Before
conducting any research study, the investigator need to do some tests and selections of
methodologies to provide a proper outline and structure to research procedure for data collection
and other analysis. There are number of considerations that researchers need to assess before
conducting a research study (Crane, Kawashima and Kawasaki, 2016). The methodology
process depends upon selecting the most suitable design and approach for executing the study.
The primary part is based on the selection of research approach, design and method which is
being carried out as per the need of the layout.
Research Approach: Research approaches are used to develop or conduct primary and
secondary research studies. Basic research approaches are Quantitative and Qualitative
approaches. Qualitative approach of research is primarily focus on the predefined assumption of
individual regarding any issue and connecting it with the research study. On the other hand,
quantitative research approach is conducted test the theories by the examining different variables
and its relationships. The research approach may be further explained in the form of Inductive
research approach and Deductive research approach. Inductive research approach is based upon
the research questions, aims and objectives of the study (Schlipphak, 2015). The hypothesis
made for such type of research study depends on the research questions that have been priorly
designed. For deductive research approach, hypothesis are pre designed before moving towards
the conclusion and whole process of data collection will be based on the designed hypothesis.
Research Design: After confirming to or selecting an appropriate research approach for
the study, a suitable research design need to be selected. Research design describes the pattern of
the conducted research study that ranges from descriptive, observational, case- control,
experimental, causal etc. Descriptive method is one of the common method that can be used by
researchers or research investigator. Out of other research designs, observational method should
be the least preferable method due to the low level of credibility of the collected and assessed
globalization and technologies can be directly interlinked and this connection have reflected the
fact that digitalization have promoted globalization within every market sectors.

data. Case- control method is also an approachable method for any research study which is based
on then comparison of cases and controls (Hsiao, Auld and Ma, 2015).
The research design included in this study is qualitative and descriptive and the research
approach will be inductive which is highly suitable for the study as it may provide the relation of
theoretical framework with the actual issue. Similarly, descriptive method will be able to
describe all the involved aspects, terms and features of the study with clarity.
Research Philosophy: Research study need to be linked with certain ethical and
philosophical views that need to be considered during overall study (Blanton and Blanton, 2016).
The philosophical views of research studies basically varies with the types, outcomes and
depends upon the ethical values on which the researchers lay emphasis on during whole research
study. Post positivism, Social constructivism, Pragmatism, Transformative world view are the
general philosophical views that are considered in a research study. This research study will have
post- positivism as its principle philosophical view as it will be based on the fact that relates with
international relations theories.
Data collection: There are basically two classification of data collection methods,
Primary data collection method and Secondary data collection method. Primary method is further
classified in to Quantitative and Qualitative methods For qualitative data collection, researchers
may undergo for primary and secondary data collection methods (Di Fabio, 2017). For primary
data collection, the investigator will conduct survey, design questionnaire and interviews, role
plays. This research study will be undergoing for secondary data collection methods that will
include the references through published articles, journals, newspapers, magazines and related
books.
Sampling: In order to carry out the suitable research process with the proper
identification of the extent of the research process that is been carried out, sampling is been
taken. For the present report, simple random data sampling measures are been undertaken by the
researcher for organisation that includes 30 employees of Tesco plc as the respondents (Qaim,
2017).
P3 Description of selected research method
The selected research method is qualitative method, which is suitable for explaining the
reasons of a particular issues persists in a group or a company or a sector. This research method
is a highly appropriate and approachable for those research projects that is based on any complex
on then comparison of cases and controls (Hsiao, Auld and Ma, 2015).
The research design included in this study is qualitative and descriptive and the research

is a highly appropriate and approachable for those research projects that is based on any complex

or developing issue (Bende-Nabende, 2017). By the application of this method, the researchers
will get an idea of understanding and evaluation of selected group dynamics. This method
includes low numeric and statistical methods for analysing the data. This research method is
highly specific and presented by transcripts. It is comparatively cost effective, highly subjective,
empathetic and field based.
M2 Pitfalls of approaches to data collection and analysis
The selected approaches for the study is inductive research approach, which is highly based on
theoretical concepts. For data collection process, this method is extremely time consuming as it
is generally based on personal interviews and interaction with the participants. Another pitfall
that is related with this method is the specificity and consistency of the recorded data is not fixed.
There may be instances some that hinders the process of data collection where the participants
may restrict themselves to disclose certain information.
In terms of analysis, this method may deliver a less precise or accurate interpretation
