LITERATURE REVIEW
According to De Mooij (2018), business expansion in global countries instead of the native
country would help any organization to scale up its business operation and enhance its working
to a higher extent. Many retail organizations such as Tesco and Wal-Mart are finding various
ways to expand their business and use globalization to increase their efficiency to a higher
extent. Due to opening up of the market in the emerging economies, there has been an
increase in the international operations due to which the companies are able to take
advantages so as to enhance their brand image. Besides, the globalization also helps in
increasing the role of research and development programs so as to enhance the intensity of the
success rate for the give organization.
As per the studies of Kazi (2011), it has been found that due to globalization, the Tesco has
been able to become a successful retail organization across the globe. The study also revealed
that 65% of its operation is conducted outside of the UK and has been able to capture the
global market place due to the concept of innovation thanks to the globalisation. With the help
of globalisation, the markets of various countries have interconnected which has tremendously
transformed the operating skills and organizational structure of the Tesco so that it could adopt
as per the host economies and operate there in a successful manner.
Siddiqui (2012) have also stated that with the help of globalisation, the given organization has
been able to transfer the knowledge from the UK across the world where its units are situated.
Furthermore, with the help of telecommunication network and face-to-face best practice
transmissions, the company has been able to expand its business in a most convenient and
successful manner. In addition to this, various new practices such as innovatory practices have
emerged within the international subsidiaries so that there would be a significant improvement
in the working and thus increase the growth and profitability of the given organization.
Kim et al. (2018) have provided details about the impact of globalisation in their studies and
revealed that due to the given concept the internet has become an important tool to convey all
the necessary information about the product and services to the customers in quick steps.

Furthermore, the internet has also made the procedure on payment easy which has allowed a
large number of customers to purchase the products of the Tesco using the online payment
system. The economic experts has pointed out that more than 13% of the credit card
transaction which has been happening in Britain has been of Tesco credit cards and in case of
South Korea, more than 6 million people use Tesco credit card for online transaction which has
thus created a brand image of the company at a global level.
Wrigley and Wood (2018) have identified factors which have been born after the arrival of
globalisation and have increased the growth and success of the given organization. Tesco has
been successful in utilizing the concept of outsourcing the work to those countries where there
is cheap labour and thus allowing the company to enhance its productivity and concentrate
more on global expansion. Various researchers have found that the international production of
the Tesco has been so successful that Tesco has been able to get an outsourcing contract worth
£18 million.
It has been highlighted by the Potrafke (2015) that with the help of the globalisation, the Tesco
has been able to adapt and embrace new technologies so as to increase their productivity,
efficiency and success and thus achieve their goals and objectives in an effective manner.
Moreover, with the help of globalisation, Tesco has been able to utilize its idea-"Pile it high and
sell it cheap" due to which it has been able to attract a large number of global customers and
successfully persuaded them to purchase their products and services and thus avail benefits.
Morais and De Moura (2018) have evaluated in their studies that the globalisation has
integrated the domestic economies across the world and converted them into an international
market. This factor has allowed a global organization such as Tesco to cash on the benefits and
avail the opportunities to enhance their growth and expand their business. Furthermore, this
has allowed Tesco to establish its R&D programs and conduct wide marketing research to find
out new strategies so as to have a wide appeal to international customers effectively.

METHODOLOGY
In the given study, qualitative research techniques have been utilized to collect the data for the
given study. The reason behind choosing this method is that the whole study is based on
globalisation and there is no need to utilize the mathematical concept to arrive at the result.
Furthermore, there are various online studies available on the internet and the use of survey
method would make the study look more meaningful. In addition to this, the study would also
require some qualitative data so as to identify various factors due to which globalisation has
been able to increase the success rate of the business to a higher extent and that too in a
significant manner. Thus, the study would utilize qualitative research instead of quantitative
research (Kumar, 2019).
In the given study, the main primary research technique utilized by the researcher has been
surveyed method. The reason behind choosing this technique is that the researcher would be
able to choose the correspondents as per their requirement. Moreover, the respondents would
be from the members of the management form Tesco who would provide valuable input about
the impact of the globalisation on the working of their organization. Besides, the study would
also collect data from online official websites of the Tesco and other websites so as to collect
the secondary data in an effective and genuine manner and thus present the study in a more
convenient manner.
Although the study would be accomplished by collecting the data from the best possible way,
still some difficulties would affect the efficiency of the given report. First would be extracting
the correct information from the managers of the Tesco as it would be a hectic task and would
take time to get useful information for the given study. Moreover, the study would also face
time constraint as it is a vast study and it would take some time to complete the research in an
accurate manner (Quinlan, et al. 2019).
As the data for the given research would be collected in the form of qualitative data; so there
would be no requirement of analytical techniques in order to achieve the objectives of the
given study and thus it could be ignored without affecting the study. Moreover, the given

Therefore the role of quantitative techniques and hence analytical techniques has become
somewhat redundant. So from the given study, it could be concluded that the study has been
conducted using accurate data and all the ethics have been followed so as to provide a reliable
report for the viewer. In addition to this, the researcher has ensured that there would be no
forcing the respondents to collect the data and all the data would be secured in an appropriate
