INTRODUCTION
Project management is the process of managing a set of activities such as planning,
executing, controlling and directing which are used in completion of a project. This provides a
proper framework about principles, techniques, methods and tools which can help the project
manager to finish each activity of the project within the stimulated time frame. A project is
managed by a highly productive and efficient members who devote themselves in their job. In
this report, a case study on Globex Corporation and Virtucon is studied in order to understand
the concept of Project management. Main objective of this assignment is to conduct a project
management by considering given case scenario. A team along with its members is developed to
describe their key individual roles and responsibilities. A learning cycle along with
communication plan is also prepared in order to develop a reflective experience (Besner and
Hobbs, 2013).
PART 1
Project name – This is the tittle of a project management team by which they are
recognised and can have a unique identity among others. For this team, name which is
considered as suitable is “Project i-Crop Globex and Virtucon”. The reason behind selecting
this tittle is it includes various variables which indicate involved organisations and the new
innovation which is been introduced by these business entities.

Overview of the project – Globex Corporation is a business organisation which was
incorporated in 2013 and operates in several locations such as Albury, griffith and Wagga
Wagga. This case scenario is concerned with the introduction of new application i-Corp which is
planned to be developed by Virtucon, this organisation is known for providing reliable solutions
for information technology and apps in house. Globex has recently opened an office at Orange so
that they can capture the market of Central West and can fulfil the requirements of Stud farms in
that region. This application is planned to be developed due to bring simplicity and convenience
in getting solutions related to farming. By the way of i-Crop, this organisation is planning to
provide them other services also, some of them includes offers, bids, seasonal sales, procuring
market information and others.
Project description – Globex Corporation is an organisation which provides solutions
for farming and agriculture that are reliable and cost effective. This organisation is planning to
introduce an online interface by the way of website and application. This application is planned
to named as i-Crop, in order to develop this application organisation has contracted with an IT
solution company named as Virtucon. The main aim of introducing this innovative website is to
serve their clients a convenience about ordering crops sample and various kinds of pesticides,
this application will also assist farmers to find solutions for their agriculture related queries.
Features and functions that are expected by Globex from i-Crop are required to be fulfilled by
Virtucon.
This organisation wants that i-Crop will enable the clients to be facilitated by the
transactional features such as offers and bids in which they can set the selling price of their grain
and sellers can offer them various bids. Another major feature which is needed to be
incorporated in this website is the facility to assess information related to market and site.
Technological factors which are Globex wants in i-Crop are that the application will be free of
cost and only network charges should be applicable on users. Another important aspect of i-Crop
is that users should be able to switch their roles from buyer to grower so that they can get reliable

cost estimation and budgeted costs. Grain sales statistics and usage data are also few
characteristics of this application.
The main aim of Globex is to serve their clients and earn profit by contributing towards
farmers so that they can get accurate prices against their grains. The objective of selecting this
case scenario by the project management team is to develop a better understanding towards
various aspects such as online applications and websites, merging of organisations, agriculture
industry and introduction of an innovative idea.

A team charter is a professional document which states various aspects about a project
management team, these aspects can include skills and knowledge required, responsibilities of
members, communication factors and others. The main aim of this project is to provide a clarity
in direction and roles of different members (Team Charter, 2018).

Learning cycle:
Every role and responsibility should be rotated among the team members to ensure their
equal participation. Roles for the next team meeting classified as “Organiser” and “Scribe” is

Meeting: Objectives determination of project on first day of week 35 at 1500 hours
Organiser: For this team meeting, Organiser is the team member having “code 1”, which
should be changed in every future meeting.
Roles of Organiser includes:
 As an organiser, I will make sure that every idea must considered and
voice of every member is heard.
 Seeks feedback from other team members about ideas.
 I will try to resolve disputes by keeping a constant positive attitude.
 Update all the team members and provide clear vision and direction.
 I will convey the ideas related to features and characteristics of i-Crop
along by identifying alternatives of this application and website.
 I will consider ideas related to offers, bids and preferred buyers
introducing by Globex.
Scribe: Scribe are the other team members of the team which should also be rotated.
Roles of Scribe includes:
 Scribe are the other team members for example, team members
having code 2-10 are scribes which needs to record all the important
information from the meeting.
 They transact all the ideas discussed in the meeting and action points.
 They take notes during the meeting which encourages me as an
organiser to focus on the discussion.
 Minutes prepared by Scribe uses a specific template and covers all the
objectives along with action items.
 Scribe take notes of all new innovative features which can be added
in i-Crop application and suggest measures for its improvement.
After completion of every meeting, Organiser will be changed. At the beginning of next
meeting that is Assessment of project meeting, organiser will be team member having code 2 and
so on.

Stakeholders is an individual or a group of persons who has interest in an organisation
and whose support is important for the functioning of the business operations. These
stakeholders can be internal and external, in this case scenario of Globex i-Crop various
stakeholders are mentioned below:
Suppliers – These are the vendors who sell goods to the business. These stakeholders are
impacted by the introduction of i-Crop as now they can receive order by using a simple interface.
Clients – These are the customers of an organisation and in this case farmers are the
clients of Globex Corporation who seek the advise of this business related to agricultural issues.
After introduction of i-Crop, these clients will be positively influenced as they can solve their
queries by a single click.
Designers – These are the website and app designers of Globex which are influenced by
the introduction of i-Crop as they have to develop efficient application and website which can
fulfil all the requirements of their clients.
Employees – These are the personnel of Globex Corporation which conducts all the
operations of their business. Due to introduction of this new innovative application, their efforts
has to be multiplied.
Investors – These are the external related parties who invest money in the business of
Globex so that they can attain growth and development.
Creditors and debtors – Creditors and debtors are the lenders and receivers which helps
in the business operations of Globex. Their interest is also impacted by the introduction of i-corp.
Government regulators – As Globex corporation deals in agricultural practices,
interference of government regulatory bodies is necessary.
In order to communicate future aspects and developments of the organisation,
Communication plan for Globex is developed below:
 Purpose of the communication is to convey and convince all the stakeholders of Globex
corporation about introduction of new website and application of i-Crop in which all the
related aspect of this change is required to be communicated.
 Audience of this plan is all the stakeholders including employees, investors, government
regulatory bodies, creditors, debtors, suppliers, clients and many others.
 Message for stakeholders is “i-Crop is a website and application which will provide a

simpler interface so that it can facilitate all the customers and other related users.”

PART 4
According to me leadership qualities are the support system of managing a project
effectively. Various skills which a organiser or leader should possess are excellent
communication and interpersonal skills, positive attitude and enthusiasm towards project work.
While conducting this project, I experienced that view points of various team members vary
from each other due to which several conflicts arise which were complicated to be resolved by

the organiser of that meeting. Other leadership quality of a leader include integrity, competence,
patience, calmness and team builder which I experienced that is lacking somewhere due to lack
of competence and time. My experience compared to my understanding has deviations some
where and these variations are the result of real world problems which includes conflicts and
surrounding situations.
As per my perspective, techniques and skills which are required by an Information
Communications technology manager are leadership, motivation, organisation, prioritisation and
adaptability as these skills can ensure efficient working of IT department of an organisation. In
this case scenario, Globex Corporation is planning to launch a new website and application
named as i-Crop in which there is a wide scope of Information technology. While conducting
this project, I experienced that due to low knowledge of IT, organisation has to face various
issues and by this statement it can be said that Globex has done a right thing by hiring Virtucon
to design and develop their website and application. By successfully achieving goals of this
project, I can say that problem solving and prioritisation are the most aspects of leadership.
CONCLUSION
From the above assignment, it can be concluded that Globex Corporation is introducing a
website and application named as i-Crop on which a project is managed by a project
management team. The main aim of this report of conducting a Project Management is
successfully achieved by developing a proper communication plan along with team carter
canvas. Project management is the most important branch of business while introducing any new
product, policy, method or innovation.
