This assignment is a response to the GNED 140 Vitality Compass Re-Test, where the student compares their initial and re-test lifestyle scores. The student analyzes changes in their "Healthy Life Expectancy" score, attributing the shift to factors like dietary adjustments, increased stress, and an inactive lifestyle, referencing research on diet and physical activity. The student discusses three key aspects learned from the course—active living, healthy eating, and stress management—and how these influenced their habits. The student also supports the use of SMART goals for overcoming barriers and achieving a healthier lifestyle, citing the importance of understanding strengths and weaknesses. Answer 1
This set of life expectancy score conducted on June 20, 2019 is different from the scores
obtained in May 2019, as the recent obtained score is 65.4 than the previous 81.6. There are
several reasons due to which my health condition changed. I increased my weight by consuming
excess meat, started consuming junk food, increased sodium content and developed depression
due to increased life related stress. Due to increased health depression, complicated life stress
and inactive lifestyle my life expectancy could have decreased. As mentioned in the research of
Gaetano (2016), inactive lifestyle and improper diet could be one of the crucial reasons due to
which the lifestyle of every individual could get affected and reduce their life expectancy. Hence,
these are the reasons that decreased my life expectancy score.
Answer 2
The three aspects that I learned through the GNED 140 course that affected my lifestyle
and helped me to understand the importance of health. These aspects are active lifestyle,
consumption of healthy and leafy grainy food, and looking for lifestyle stress and depression
solution. As mentioned in the research of Myers et al. (2015), it was mentioned that leading an
active lifestyle is important for improved metabolism, improved BMI and cardiac health. These
aspects further helps to maintain a healthy and balanced body weight, which ultimately decreases
the risk of complicated disease conditions. Further, research of Wichansawakun and Buttar
(2019) also indicated that eating healthy and green and leafy vegetables helps to develop the
digestion and decreases the food and nutritional complexity. Addressing the stress and
depression of patients helps them to overcome their critical health conditions and therefore, all
these aspects helped and influence my healthy habits.

Answer 3
Yes, SMART or specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely goals would help
me to understand the strategies that would help me to overcome the barriers and overcome the
lifestyle and stress related aspects. I would be able to provide me a timeline to achieve a specific
and realistic goal within a short time period. Further, as per Holzinger, Röcker and Ziefle (2015),
it is the process that would be providing me with the opportunity to understand my strengths and
weaknesses so that with proper balance of these two we can develop critical strategies to
understand the aspects that would help me to develop healthy and improved lifestyle.
Answer 4
The four aspects or steps that I chose or implemented in my lifestyle (that has been
mentioned in my assignment 1) affected my lifestyle and my abilities positively and then helped
me to overcome the complications related to lifestyle, stress depression and diet or nutrition.
eating healthy diet, consumption of less meat, proper sleep and developing friendly manner
helped me to understand the importance of diet and nutrition in our lifestyle and made me opt for
food and diet options that could increase my abilities to digest them and provide me clean and
fresh energy for my growth. Further, these aspects provided me with the abilities to understand
the importance of rest and socialization for improved mental health (Winston & Chicot, 2016).
