INTRODUCTION
Business communication is important in
order to exchange information between
employees, investors and customers about
company goals, objectives, aims of the
company. It helps in effective coordination
of employees and achievement of
organisational goals. GO Travel was one of
leading company in UK which was
established in 1978 and offers wide range of
travel accessories in the world. This report
explains about various barriers and
challenges faced in communication within
organisation. It also covers strategies that
are used by company to overcome challenges
of communication.
Various challenge and barriers to effective communication
GO Travel was one of leading company in UK which
established in 1978 and offers wide range of travel accessories
in the world and. Company wants to expand its market share
and profitability so it is planning to open two new offices in
Europe. For that it requires local worker for each of the oversea
office location but various challenges are faced by company
while expanding its business (Awomolo and et.al., 2017).
Different challenges or barrier in communication between
employees in the organization are as follows:
Linguistic barrier: First challenges that company faced was
language as everyone does not speak English language in
Europe. Thus, it leads to misunderstanding or
miscommunication between employees hindering organization
performance.
Organisational structure: Another challenges that Go Travel
faced was unorganized staff and ineffective communication
channels between employees. It leads to conflict and
misunderstanding or overlapping as no definite way of
communication and roles and responsibilities of employees
(Beck, Prügl and Walter, 2020).
Physiological Barrier: Staff members of company try to avoid
contact with each other due to Personal and language barrier
that lead to ineffective communication within organisation.
Culture Barrier: Due to previous cultural employees try to
avoid communication between each other thus create barrier in
effective communication.
Physical barrier: As the company is located across world so
employees are not physical present which lead to
miscommunication and hinder company function.

Strategies formed by company for overcoming communication barriers
Company in order to remove barrier in effective communication has use various steps and formed strategies
that can be used by company for smooth operations of business across world.
It plans to change its policies in the workplace to encourage employees from all offices to
communicate effectively.
Manger of company also decided to have regular skype meeting for effective coordination and
control over various issues that were faced by company (Betz and Phillips, 2017).
It is also responsible for providing good working environment to enhances performance and
productivity of employees for achievement of organisational goals.
Manager of Go build strong interrelationship between employees thus encourage ideas, views and
opinion of different individual to create a feeling of belongingness.
Company provide a definite structure for communication between employees to reduce confusion
and conflict between them (Bäckström, 2018).
Roles and responsibility of individual are clearly defined for smooth operations of business.
Various posters are also distributed around staff rooms that highlight policies, procedure of
company and communication medium between employees.
Manager also plans to organize a training program for enhancing knowledge and skills of
employees to provide qualitative services to customers. It also tries to provide certain guidelines to
understand language of each other.
Awareness of culture influence on communication and negotiation
Culture also influence on communication and negotiation between employees as Go Travel is a large
organization operating its business worldwide thus having large number of employees with different cultures.
Manager of company by creating awareness among employees about each other cultures bring coordination
and cooperation among employees to work effectively for achievement of organisational goals (Awomolo
and et.al., 2017). It reduces chances of negotiation and conflict by enhancing knowledge of individual about
each other culture. Thus, it helps in achievement of organisational goals by coordination individual efforts.
CONCLUSION
From the above analysis it can be concluded that communication is important
for growth and success of company. It is explained that unorganized
organizational structure in GO company has led to misunderstanding and
conflict among employees about roles and responsibilities to be performed by
each of them. Thus, company by planning various strategies and changing its
policies is able to expand its business across various nation.
