NOTES
Barriers
After getting feedback and complaint from consumers, Go Travel came to know that
there are many different issues being faced because of miscommunication among different
offices of company (Zenkevich, 2018).
Work ethics- This is a barrier because every country has its own set pattern of
working and when Go Travel goes in other country for business employees of company has
to follow that ethics and they find difficult to adapt and this lead to ineffective
communication.
Barrier of language- At time of working in different country the languages are
different and it may be possible that employees may not understand other language and this
causes barrier.
Lack of listening- This is a barrier because if employees will not listen in effective
way then they will not be able to understand what the other people are saying and will
misinterpret the meaning.
Cultural bias- This also causes barrier in effective communication because if there is
bias on basis of culture then people belonging to that biased culture will be ignored. This will
result in not effectively communicating with that person.
Non- verbal communication- The communication is meaningful only with help of
non- verbal communication and if this is not proper then communication will not be effective.
For instance, if at time of communication other employee is not responding in any way like
smile or anger then how other employee will know that whether other person has understood
or not (Ghobadi and Mathiassen, 2016).
Time difference-. This is also a barrier for instance, if in one country it is day and
other country is having night and employees of Go Travel of both the countries are
communicating then this will hamper communication as the employee of country where there
is night might not be much attentive and be sleepy (Galli, 2019).
Strategies
The problem of communication is a major issue and this needs to be addressed by Go
Travel for its smooth functioning. Thus, for this some of the strategies are as follows-
Non- verbal communication workshops- These workshops will assist employees of
Go Travel in understanding the non- verbal communication like body language, facial
expression and this will foster communication among them.

Informal meetings- The informal meetings and outings will help the employees of Go
Travel in understanding one another and this will promote coordination among them and
result in effective communication (Gollust, 2016).
Educating for different cultures- The knowledge of other culture will help
employees of Go Travel in gaining idea that how communication with people coming from
different cultures must be made effective and clear.
Effective listening skills- The increase in effective listening skills will help the
employees of Go Travel in effectively listen to what other people and saying and help them in
clearly understanding the intended meaning of sender.
Consumers feedback- The consumers are the one which can assess that whether the
employees of Go Travel are communicating in cordial manner or not. And if they are not
communicating then their feedback will help the employees in knowing the areas where they
lack. Thus, in accordance with the provided feedback changes can be made for improvement
resulting in improved communication.
Cultural awareness day- This will help employees in getting knowledge of all
different cultures and this will help employees in gaining knowledge of all cultures (Tamam,
2018). Also, this step by Go Travel will motivate the employees of company as they are
showing respect by celebrating cultural awareness day.
