INTRODUCTION
Goals are the general desire of the student, which student is looking to achieve. This report
highlights the importance of setting Goal for the student. After that report highlights different
type of long term and short term goal of the students. After that the report highlights the
different ways through which student is able to memorize learning easily in the University.
MAIN BODY
Goals is an idea or desire that a person used to accomplish in the finite period of deadline
in an organization. Goals which are set to accomplish the shorter goal in an organization are
known as a short term goals. Whereas the goal which are set for longer period is known as long
term goal of students (Gardner and et.al., 2019.).
Importance of setting Goals
Setting goal in the university used to bring variety of the benefits for the student such as
it provide direction to the student about the different activity which they have to perform in the
University. As goal used to provide the direction in which student has to target the different
efforts in an organization. Setting goal also help organization in bringing and making more
clarity in decision-making of a student. As with the help of the goal setting student are more
clear about what is good for them and what are different future objective of a student in the
University. Also, Goal setting used to provide a good sort of motivation to the student in the
University to have a good learning to achieve the goal in the prescribed time they are looking to
achieve the same. Goal Setting also help student in University in planning different action plan
efficiently in the University, so that student in the University can achieve the different goal very
efficiently (Vroland‐Nordstrand and et.al., 2016.).
Short Term and Long Term Goals
There are many short and long term goal which are set by the student in the University.
Generally, goals which are set for a specific semester or exam in the University are known as a
short term goal. Such as has to improve grades in a specific subject by the end of semester
(Locke and Latham, 2019.). Also, improving different skill in the specific period is the example
of the short term goal for an organization. It has been also seen that student in the University
also used to make different short term goal to build relationship with the tutor or mentor in an
organization. Generally short term goal of all the student are to develop different skill and
knowledge in the University so that it can help them in carrying out different day to day

operation in a University and also with the aim of providing good support to different Long term
goal of the individual in the University.
Different long term goal of Student in the University are generally the end objective
which they want to achieve at the end of the learning in the University (Latham, Brcic and
Steinhauer, 2017). Generally they set up the different target for a specific period in the
University and used to link all the short term goal in such a way that it leads to accomplish of
long term goal. For example: Student used to set the grades' goal for all the semester, which
eventually helps them in achieving the end goal efficiently in the University. Student in the
University also used to set different professional goal in the University as well, as student in the
University Itself decides the different profession they are looking to join or company they are
looking to be employee of in coming future.
Memorising the Learning
Student in University used to go through variety of different type of learning in there day
to day operation. As student has to learn more that 3 to 5 subjects in together and its requires a
good sort of hard work from the student side to learn the same in the University (Fruchard,
Lecolinet and Chapuis, 2018,). As all the subject used to have there learning on different belief
and concept. Memorizing the learning for longer period help student in interlinking variety of
the learning of the past with the current learning of the student, as learning is generally
interlinked with each other. This eventually enhance the quality of the learning which is
acquired by the learner. As a result all the student in the University used to apply different
decision in the organization to remember the different learning more efficiently in the
University.
Different Strategy to remember the learning for longer period
Some strategy which is applied by the students to improve level of memorizing
information are Memorizing by making different notes. It is the strategy in which student used to
make different small notes of there learning in the University. This notes helps students in
remembering all the information at a go which was learned by the student in the past. As student
generally used to make notes in such a way that it is linked with the overall learning of the
student in the past. Another strategy which is used by the student is learned with the help of
different visual diagram and Photos. Reason behind doing the same is that it has been find out
that the learning which is gather with the help of different diagram helps student in memorize

the same for longer period as compare to simple learning (Balalaeva, 2019.). Generally, student
in the University used to link the different learning in the form of different photos and diagram
in the University. Another strategy which is generally used by the student is going through
different quizzes and test in the University. This eventually help them in recognizing all the
learning on timely basis and also help the student in keeping different learning very fresh in their
mind. Another strategy which is generally used by the student in the University is group based
learning. Students in the University used to make different group with the student in the
University and used to learn different things with the help of the group based learning in the
University. It eventually helps student in retaining the information for longer period as student
used to get support from different student in the University and on the basis of the same try to
learn new thing and remember the same for longer period. There are many strategies which is
also used by the student such as Combine visual and verbal lessons, Encourage constructive
comments on graded assignment.
CONCLUSION
After going through the above report it has been summarized that there are a good deals
of importance of goal setting. After that report summarized there are many types of long term
and short term goal of a student. After that report summarized many type of strategy through
which students can develop good memorizing skills in them and importance of having good
memorising skill.
