INTRODUCTION
Personal and professional development is essential, if an individual want to be a
developed leader, employee, mentor and colleague. Basically, individual and professional growth
is all regarding reaching out manners to act their occupation perfectly ( Shavit and Moshe,
2019.). This considers both soft and hard skills which is beneficial for personal growth, these
developed skills applies in many field but the effect is particularly on technical areas, constant to
grow out their professional cognition can open limitless ways in their career, and assist them to
cope up unexpected issues which their colleagues and friends conflict with. This assist in setting
goals and objectives which leads in growth if various skills and quality within the person. As
well as it helps in achieving personal and professional goals successfully. In institutions and
workplace a transparent result will come from PDP process will be attain a promotion or a
career modification, and the improvement of soft and hard skills. In this report will explain the
concept of professional and personal development process. After that it will justifies the short
term,medium term and long term goals with suitable illustrations. In last it will illustrate PDP
plan with some developing quality.
MAIN BODY
Personal development is a lifelong process. It is a mode for people to assess their ability
and qualities, including their objectives and setting goals in regards to realise and increase their
capability. Investing in personal and professional development permits them to be proactive in
bringing their goals to life, providing them a sense of self awareness and direction (Nikouei,
Asgharipour and Marzban, 2022.) .
Define concept of personal and professional development -
Professional development can grow the skills as an employee, that can tend to new
opportunity and career development. It includes advancing skills, traits and competencies that
might want to know how to improve their professional development . it considers developing
individual through learning and training to advance their career. Organization might offer
training sessions to further teaching their workers, but an employee typically works on their own
professional development democratically. There are many modes that an employees can operate
on their expertise development, just as sessions, going to training classes as well as learning new
lessons. It can also refer to holding up to date on new trends within their specific areas and

adaption of new practices to their current ways. Through developing professionalism in
themselves can leads in boost of self confidence as an employee(Winston and Russell, 2021).
Having new skills and capability might make them more confident and can assist them to feel
more confident and comfortable in their situation as their education expands. This develops
internal strength as well as outer ability within person. It impacts on person personality
positively and it also helps in developing various skills that can be used in up coming life.

changes. These kinds of goals can be achieve in year and months. Every short term goal focus

it. These goals can helps in developing personal skills as well as it develops focus on the path
that have set out towards attaining their longer term target Some examples of short term goals
are listed in below -
1. Increase productivity and performance - developing their overall productivity will finally
lead to improved performance in the organization. This is one of the most common career-linked
goals and is a great manners to straightly encourage growing success in their position. To set
short-term operations and activity goals, they should first establish how they calculate their
performance, such as by keeping track of the resources used and efficiency of the work they
produce.
2. Find a balance between work life and performance - When person operating towards
progressing their career, it’s easy to be use with operations and want to have in as long hours as
possible to finish their goals and develop individuals performance. thus, this isn’t always the
good behavior and can rapidly tend to burst out. If they find themselves spending long hours at
organizational activity and taking little time for themselves outside of the office, developing their
work-life balance might be a good short-term goal to set for them(Falduto and Rocha, 2020).
3. Organizing work station - it is a short-term goal that can be completed in a relatively short
number of time, it can hugely develop their work productivity and total satisfaction in the
concern. Clutter and unorganized are main things of distraction and can affect individuals
productivity rather than many people assumes. Having a some time every day to clean up their

medium term goals that is listed in below -
1. Develop a work related skill - Most careers needs both soft and hard skills to be successful.
In instance, if they are marketing manager, they will require to have good management skills and
communication skills. Including choosing single skill to concentrate on for the next month that
will support their productivity and effectiveness in the company. This can keep track of the
activities they complete to further this skill and test their capability after a month’s time. Once
they have professional one skill, move onto other to constant supporting their success in the
company (Bush and et., al., 2018).
2. Communicate more peers - growing how often they communicate with colleagues can
converse their industry leanings and achievements. Make it a point to communicate with at least
two persons every day at organization, even if it’s only for a few minutes. This will help them
hone their communication ability and can also allow them to construct strong professional
connections.
3. Become a better listener - being a good listener is also essential so that an individual can get
a good knowledge of workplace and other information which is link with the business activity.
This leads in better development of an individual in positive manner as well as it develops
professionalism in particular person that can be utilize in future.

this requires time and proper planning. These goals are essential for a career. Thus helps in
attaining all goals for long term and have a success in achieving goals. This includes some
examples that are explained in below -
1. Gain global experience - This skill is link with the researcher of things and educational
content that will used in future task and this is long term goal as it require lot of time and books
along with other sources that will provide a good and useful knowledge of topics and education
which is used in accomplishing task successfully.
2. Learn technical skills - technical skills includes Microsoft system which is consist of
various functions that is used in company operations in managing work and recording inflow and
outflow of sources. This is an essential requirement of current era in order to make a smart
functioning of operations.
3. Gain management experience - Through practicing on leadership skills through managing
team. This requires an constant practice and also provides growth in interpersonal skills that will
helpful in having positive attitude towards company operations and activity(Allen and et., al.,
2021).
