• Operation and management is management approach that focuses upon
production, distribution and allocation of goods and services in organisation.
• It supervises or inspects works and proceedings in which organisation has
responsibility to complete with effectively and efficiently in way to achieve
business objectives and attain brand value in market.

KEY APPROACHES OF OPERATION
MANAGEMENT
• Operation management is administering concept which connects with
improving quality of production or manufacturing in production process.
• It is concerned with converting materials and resources into final goods
and services in effective manner to improve its production results so that
effective results can be achieve in google.

SIX SIGMA
• Six sigma is a disciplined and statical approach which work on continuous
improvements in production and distribution system in organisation.
• It helps in eliminate defects and improves system of production so that desirable
results can be achieved in google.
• This theory was developed in 1980s by Motorola to bring quality improvements
in organisation and frequently it become popular approach at General electrics in
1990s.

process.

production system and presently used by Caterpillar and Nike during their

production process to eradicate errors to improve workings.
